Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn promotes bill allowing Illinois voters to recall the governor

Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn says perhaps Illinois voters should have the ability to recall the governor http://www.wsiltv.com/p/news_details.... Illinois Citizens to Recall Governor http://www.pantagraph.com/articles/20... The budget crisis is causing more tension between the governor and fellow Democrats. Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn says perhaps Illinois voters should have the ability to recall the governor and other leaders. Illinois should join the other 18 states that allow their citizens to recall politicians. The controversy and frustration swirling around Gov. Rod Blagojevich are not the reason Illinois needs a recall provision added to its Constitution. But his actions - or inaction - certainly are fueling the call for recall. A recall provision is needed because sometimes the next regular election is too long to wait to replace a political leader who has become dysfunctional or is not fulfilling obligations to constituents. We are not necessarily referring to Blagojevich. He could be out of office before the Constitution could be amended and a recall election could take place. Enacting a recall provision should proceed regardless of what one thinks about Blagojevich. Identical proposals for constitutional amendments have been submitted in the House and Senate. The Senate resolution for a constitutional ...

A Serious Situation That Must Be Addressed

This story points to a major problem that has seemed to have escalated in recent years. When I was growing up, people kids/young adults used to knock mailboxes off of their stands. Now, their putting pipe bombs in them. This is a situation that is extremely serious and all politicians should be addressing it. If they don't start dealing with this issue then there will be many seriously be injured or killed. The story doesn't mention their ages, but KTIV (where this story aired) made mention on tonight's 10pm newscast that the youths ranged from ages 15 to 17. Five Teens Charged In Mailbox Vandalism A day after residents in Clay County, Iowa found bombs in their mailboxes five teenagers have been arrested and each faces nearly two dozen felony counts. According to authorities Justin Titus, Shawn Molitor, Ryan Hoffman, and Alan Japenga all from Ruthven Iowa along with Chan Wei Li from Ayshire were arrested Saturday night. Each is charged with 17 federal felony counts of destruction of letter boxes, and 7 state Felony counts of Destruction of Letter Boxes with Explosive Devices. Sunday the Iowa State Fire Marshal bomb Squad used a special robot to search the mailboxes for ...

Richard Lugar's contribution to the NAU.

Hoosiers should know that Republican Senator Richard Lugar has proposed and supported several bills to aid the development of the SPP, and a North American Union. The most horrendous of these is bill S. 853 of the 109 th Congress cited as the " North American Cooperative Security Act ". While this entire bill compromises U.S. sovereignty, please note section 5. "Improving The Security of MEXICO'S Southern Border" . Lugar introduced this bill on April 20, 2005 with the following cosigners: Sen Coleman, Norm [MN] - 6/30/2005 Sen Cornyn, John [TX] - 6/7/2005 Sen Hagel, Chuck [NE] - 7/11/2005 Sen Hutchison, Kay Bailey [TX] - 7/1/2005 Sen McCain, John [AZ] - 5/25/2005 Sen Stevens, Ted [AK] - 5/12/2005 This bill isn't just cooperating; it calls for deep integration. Lugar also gets a D- on his immigration report card from Americans For Better Immigration. Lugar received over 80% of the vote in the 2006 election. It seems obvious that Hoosiers aren't aware that he shares the same One World view that George Bush does. Please help me get this info into the hands of as many Indiana residents as possible. Thank you.

Blind Obedience to the Party

Here's the situtation: You are a registered voter. You are a precinct committeeperson, an elected position. You don't like your party's choice for a particular office so you openly support another party. You show support all the way to the voting place where you are accousted by the county chair of your party. You and he have a dicussion as to what you are doing there? You let him know in no uncertain terms it is you right. You then go on to defend ,quite well I might add, your reason for not walking lock step with said party since he is looking for one. Not able to counter your reasoning he asked for your resignation from the position to which you were elected or he says he will fire you. Strange, fire you from such a lowly position that nobody wants anyway. Besides it isn't even a paid position to begin with. My party loyalty or blind odedience to anyone or any party comes somewhere down the line behind taking trash out for Tuesday morning pick up. What say you?

Lawmakers Not Worried About Federal Lawsuit Sep 26, 2007 Illinois lawmakers and immigration advocates are defiant in the face of a federal lawsuit over an immigration and employment program. State legislators passed a law earlier this year, telling businesses in the state not to participate in the Basic Pilot Program. The program is designed to make sure illegal workers don't slip under the radar. But State Representative Cynthia Soto says the program too often "red flags" legal workers, and even citizens. Governor Rod Blagojevich signed Soto's law this summer. His office says "the system as it is now leaves too much room for mistakes and abuse." Soto says 50-percent of people are denied under the electronic verification system. Her law says until the feds can get 99-percent of cases correct, and answered quickly, the program is illegal in Illinois. How hypicrital! It's illegal to enforce a Frederal law, but considers it ok to defend thousands of illegal aliens. Are there two definitions of illegal?

FCC Media Ownership Hearing, Chicago to host September 20

Per the Chicago Media Action website http://www.chicagomediaaction.org/ Chicago, Illinois to host FCC Media Ownership Hearing, September 20 Back in 2002 and 2003, the FCC was trying to ram through a series of controversial media ownership rules (and by "controversial" I refer to a subtle division between "those who stood to gain financially by the decision" versus "everyone else who ever lived"). CMA, back in the day , got very quickly involved -- among the very first groups in America to work on the issue, spreading the word on the issue as a key to stopping the rules before they got passed. What's key to the entire saga is that grassroots activism helped to fuel widespread outrage at a time when NOBODY else did or even knew. This was indirectly acknowledged by the judges in Philadelphia who heard an emergency court order on the day the controversial rules were slated to go into effect ; the court granted an emergency stay precisely because a million people spoke up about the issue. Well, how did a million people know about the issue when the major media wasn't breathing nary a word and the FCC was even actively shredding its own research ...
