Josh Glover MARINE RECEIVES SILVER STAR MEDAL MARINE BARRACKS WASHINGTON, Washington D.C.(Oct. 28, 2005) -- The annals of Marine Corps history are filled with stories of men and women who have sacrificed their all in service to their country. Puller, Basilone, Lejeune, Butler, Daley—names that are synonymous with valor in combat and Marine Corps lore. "There is a fellowship of valor that links all U.S. Marines, past, present, and future," said Joseph Alexander, retired Marine Colonel in his book The Battle History of the U.S. Marines: A Fellowship of Valor. Now, another story of valor can be added to the Marine history books and for one Marine officer assigned to the Corps' "Oldest Post," that story is one of modesty and simply taking care of his Marines. Dallas native, Capt Joshua L. Glover was presented the nation's third highest award for valor in combat—the Silver Star medal. Glover, a 2001 United States Naval Academy graduate, received his award during a chilly early morning ceremony held aboard the Post Oct 28, 2005 from the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Michael W. Hagee. The 26-year-old received the award for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as ...

Wow...could this be a new trend? Finally, our troops getting respect!!! RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) -- A former Marine accused of killing unarmed Iraqi detainees was acquitted of voluntary manslaughter Thursday in a first-of-its-kind federal trial. The jury took six hours to find Jose Luis Nazario Jr. not guilty of charges that he killed or caused others to kill four unarmed detainees on Nov. 9, 2004, in Fallujah, Iraq, during some of the fiercest fighting of the war. The verdict left the 28-year-old defendant in tears. His mother, family and friends cried so loud the judge smacked his gavel in a call for order. "It's been a long, hard year for my family," Nazario said outside the courtroom. "I need a moment to catch my breath and try to get my life back together." Thursday's verdict marks the first time a civilian jury has determined whether the alleged actions of a former military service member in combat violated the law of war. The jury forewoman, Ingrid Wicken, hugged Nazario's sobbing mother, Sandra Montanez, without speaking after the verdict was read. "I watched her all week. She was being tortured every day," Wicken said later. "I thanked her, God blessed her," ...

This guy is a real creep. Everyone falls asleep after the "big event" in Germany so he can disrespect the very people keeping his butt safe. He wouldn't have had half the crowd at his Event if it weren't for two mega-popular bands "opening" for him,,,free of charge. This is a very rare in Germany to have any free concerts. Unlike the Portland,Or free concert which drew so many while he was campagning. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/07/24/obama-snubs-injured-soldiers-workout-will-media-care Obama Snubs Injured Soldiers for a Workout, Will Media Care? By Noel Sheppard ( Bio | Archive ) July 24, 2008 - 14:14 ET NewsBusters has learned that presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama has cancelled plans to visit two U.S. military bases while in Germany, this despite having all kinds of time to speak to gushing Berliners as well as getting in a workout at the Ritz Carlton. One of the bases, The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, " is an overseas military hospital operated by the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense...[that] serves as the nearest treatment center for wounded soldiers coming from Iraq and Afghanistan ." Yet, as Ed Morrissey's Hot Air reported a few hours ago, Spiegel Online claimed at 1:42 PM ...

This shouldn't come as a surprise, when ever Secular Progressive Communist Democrats are in charge, like this Congress, never let the people effected by their Dictatorship have a say. Maxstake CNSNews.com Military Excluded From ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Hearing Wednesday, July 23, 2008 By Pete Winn, Senior Writer/Editor (CNSNews.com) – When a House panel holds a hearing Wednesday afternoon examining the impact of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy regarding homosexuals in the military, no one from the Defense Department will testify. That’s because no one from the military has been invited to testify, according to Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-Calif.), sponsor of a bill to overturn the military’s ban on homosexuality. “The truth of the matter is, we don’t (have anyone from the Defense Department scheduled) because we know what they would say,” Tauscher said at a Tuesday news conference. “We know that they would say, ‘That’s the law, ma’am. We salute smartly and we do what the law says.’” In fact, Tauscher admitted that the entire reason for the hearing is to lay the groundwork for efforts after the election, when she and subcommittee chair Rep. Susan Jones (D-Calif.) hope to get a newly elected President ...

To Whom It May Concern: My name is Steven A. Griffiths, I am a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. I have served our country since September of 1999 and still currently employed by USMC. In October of 2005 while serving with Combat Logistic Regiment 25 Al Taqaddum Iraq (after two weeks being deployed) I became very ill. I was aerovaced to the hospital in Baghdad and was diagnosed with a low potassium level, which is life threatening and they started me on IV’s to increase my potassium and calcium levels. Several days later, I was complaining of abdominal pains and the doctors did a cat scan which revealed I had Deep Vein Thrombosis in my abdomen. I was then medically airlifted to Landstuhl hospital in Germany to start treatment with Coumadin and Loveanox to become therapeutic. A week later, I returned to Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in Jacksonville North Carolina to begin further treatment. In April 2006, I was taken off of blood thinners and was told everything was resolved. In November 18th of 2006, I was due to get out of the Marines. I truly wanted to retire as a Marine, ...

Some of you may damn me for bringing this up, but recently I've been studying both sides of argument on conspiracy theories behind 9/11, RFID chips, and several other topics found within and without mainstream discussion. My latest study has dealt with the "mysterious" Gulf War Sickness that several Gulf War vets contracted after Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. The best source I've found on this is the documentary, "Beyond Treason: What you don't know about your government could kill you." http://beyondtreason.com/ The images of newborn infants who are the children of Iraqi civilians and American servicemen are even more horrifying than photos of abortions and there are documents presented within the program (and also recorded on a CD that comes with the program) that show our government authorized the use of illegal weapons containing depleted uranium that contaminated the entire area around which the warheads exploded. Our servicemen, the ones who volunteered to be willing to die to protect our country, are nothing more than lab rats! Again, call me a nut, whacko, whatever, but just remember Bush's words in defense of the Patriot Act, "If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear." Why ...
