I have been trying to think through the logistics and abilities of the Militias of the different states to work together on getting together for a week and shutting down a section of the border. This would probably have to be in Texas. The Op would be: The Southern states' militias would be the first line of defense with northern states in reserve and providing security in depth. The Northern states would be responsible for securing the rear and flanks from assault. The reason for putting the southern states in the front would be to increase the legitimacy of the OP because it is those men's states that are the greatest invasion points. I gained an interest in the militias after reading about the militia army that is maintained in Switzerland.  It might be interesting to note that the Constitution lists every able-bodied American male between the ages of 17 and 45 as a member of the regular militia. This is another case of where liberal courts have usurped authority over the populace and have attempted to re-interpret the Constitution so that they can ban all militia activities.  How else can a person be ruled to be a ligitimate member of the regular state militia yet be prosecuted on weapons possession charges?  The police are not actually required to defend the populace from crime.  If you want to read the judicial rulings, it would shock you to discover that the police only have to apprehend criminals after the crime is committed.  Even though the citizen militia is charged with defense against invasion, historical precedent shows how the citizen militia has been ...
