Congress to Look at Mexican Influence in Convictions

In a segment tonight, March 24, 2007, America's Most Wanted reviewed the story of Deputy Sheriff Gilbert Hernandez. It also touched on the convictions of Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. The narrator mentioned that Congress will be looking into the possible influence of the Mexican government in the prosecutions and convictions of both Deputy Hernandez and former Border Patrol Agents Compean and Ramos. This would be an excellent time for all Fire Society members to let their voices be heard on the subject of US Attorney Johnny Sutton and his vendetta against law enforcement officers who work along the Texas border. There is much material available from the National Border Patrol Council site, www.nbpc.net . and www.AmericanFreedomRiders.com . Congressman Dana Rohrabacher's website also has his speech with much pertinent information. Congress needs to be reminded of some of the more startling facts in these cases: 3 of 12 jurors in the Compean/Ramos trial signed written affidavits claiming jury misconduct. These affidavits were ignored. Evidence was sealed and later the records were expunged. Staffers notes indicate that the Mexican Consul contacted the US Government to demand prosecution of Compean and Ramos as well as Deputy Hernandez (in this case there is a ...

Petition: To Speaker Nancy Pelosi Asking for Investigation of Johnny Sutton

The first case involves former Border Patrol Agent David Sipe, prosecuted for using excessive force in the arrest of an illegal. The Government was caught hiding evidence, and a new trial was ordered. When the jury heard about the deals made with the illegals, it found Agent Sipe not guilty. (See "Prosecution of Border Patrol Agents" by Congressman Ted Poe at www.nbpc.net .) The second case began January, 2001, and concerns former Agent Gary Brugman involved in the apprehension of a group of 10-12 illegals. As Agent Brugman and a trainee tried to contain the group, Brugman, fearing several were going to run, pushed one illegal with his foot to keep him seated. Agent Brugman was later prosecuted for violating the civil rights of the illegal Jiminez. Sutton contacted the Mexican Consulate, Eagle Pass, Texas, to help find and return Jiminez to the U.S. so he, Sutton, could prosecute Brugman using Jiminez as a witness. Sutton offered Jiminez immunity and health care for ...
