An Unusual Silence on the Board. What gives?

There seems to be an unusual silence on the board concerning the battle between President Bush and the State of Texas on the execution of a Mexican citizen convicted of murder in the death of two girls in 1993. Apparently the President wants to enforce a decision by the International Court of Justice because according to ICJ their rights to legal help was violated. The President feels that by not abbiding by the ICJ decision would harm American interests abroad. Previously, the President said he would ignor this court when it makes decisions concerning state criminal law. This does not make any sense to me. How can this President bend over backwards to protect the rights of Mexican criminals yet ignor the appeals of the American people for the release of imprisioned border agents Ramos and Campeon. Any thoughts?

They are not taking defeat well but are acting like spoiled children who could not get their way because a backroom deal they had hoped to enact into law was met by a backlash of negativity as the deal and all its details became known. They knew this Bill would not have public support hence the need to bring it to the floor and vote before members of Congress could study it. Alas, they did not get their wish and the public found the details, read the Bill, and saw how bad it was. The people who wrote and backed the Bill had to be suprised by the anger of the public who understood its implications for our country. The people spoke out!. Rather than admit they made a mistake the Bill's backers took a firm stand behind it. They blamed the Bill's defeat on a bunch of malcontents who were stired up by Talk Radio and internet sites like Fire Society who could not see how the Bill would benefit our country. This is one of the reasons why they would like ...

Our nation founded on the concepts of liberty stands at the edge of a cliff where the slightest tremble could cause us to collapse and possibly plunge us into civil war. Out of the ashes of 9-11 the freedoms we once cherished were given away in the name od security for our country. There were not many voices raised in opposition since we were attacked and were told this was for our benefit to protect us from the threat of terrorists. This need for protection sparked the war we are now ebgaged in Iraq. The argument presented was that we were going to fight them there so we would not have to fight them here. The American public was very supportive of the President in this endeavor. Now we find ourselves caught in the middle of sectarian conflicts that have existed for centuries as well as battling insurgents who want us out and terrorists from one group attacking the other group. It is doubtful that we will ever persuade these people to get past their ...

At the beginning of his Presidency the President has made it public that he would like a world where democracy and the rights of all people would be respected and that no one individual should stand in the way especially where US interests were concerned. Here we have the story of a man who desired to carve a legacy where he would be forever immortalized in the history books as the man who helped bring freedom to the world while expressing he was doing the Will of God. The war with Iraq began with the need to remove Sadam from power and the threat his regime posed to the freedom of the world. We were able to topple Sadam as he was no more than a man with a big mouth who liked to spout threats of what he was going to do. We were successful, then we stepped on the path of rebuilding Iraq and establishing an American style democracy. Remember how we were going to build the largest embassy in the world in Baghdad and establish a center where democracy could be spread to the other nations in ...

Mexico Strikes Back!

It appears that the illegals are making more noise and it appears that nothing will now satisfy them except total amnesty. Even the President's most generous plan is not good enough. The illegals want nothing less than full citizenship with all the rights and privledges that it would bring. The Mexican lobby and all of their allies are in full force. Even local governments are being opposed when they try and restrict the so called rights of illegals. The case in Hazleton, PA is a prime example. Rallies for the illegals by legal Mexican immigrants seem to be paralyzing our officials who now act like a chicken with its head cut-off. Alas this is not the only avenue that Mexico is using to undermine us. The Mexican government is also encouraging some of its more knowledable citizens to come here and seek employment in our technology industries. These individuals are here under legal visas and have no intention of seeking US citizenship. Their purpose is to gain knowledge to transmit to Mexico to help Mexican industries. An uprising among our population is now growing which our elected leaders had better realize instead of trying to appease the Mexican officials who ...

Some of what I found were statements that President Bush and current Attorney General Gonzales were that: 1. President Bush supports the decision to imprison the border agents for violating the civil rights of this illegal ( even though he was involved in drug smuggling). 2. President Bush and Gonzales both support Sutton and want him kept as part of the team. 3. The attoneys who were fired were not gun-ho supporters of Bush's new ideas on Mexican immigration and may have been in the way of getting of support for these new policy ideas. 4. One thing I found out was that the Patriot Act gives the Attorney General the right to appoint attorneys without Congressional Approval. Is this correct? These are serious issues that need to be addressed if any of these statements are true. Iraq and Afghanistan have been addressed as issues important to our nation's security but not much has been said about secuity along the Mexican border. President Bush may want to develop strong relationships with Mexico but immigration is not the way to go ...
