The State of the Independent Movement

By every standard we know of from past elections, this year is unusual. First of all, the current sitting VP is not running. To many Americans, the pitched battle between Democrats Barack Obama, the first African-American candidate with a chance to win, and Hillary Clinton, the first serious female candidate, is a big story. On the Republican side, Senator John McCain, a Viet Nam vet and POW, resurrected his campaign after nearly going broke last year. For many others though, the two parties, with their corruption and partisanship, have become an unbearable nightmare, and the independent movement is in their sights. So then, what is the state of affairs in this movement? For one thing, the independent movement is larger and stronger than at almost any other time, including the Ross Perot year of 1992. Mr. Perot was a self financing candidate with a huge enough bank account to fund his own campaign. Had he not entered the race, there wouldn&#39;t have been an alternative to Bush/Clinton. This year, there are about two dozen serious Presidential candidates, and at least one of them is affiliated with a new party. This new party, the New American Independent Party is very active ...

Reclaiming Our Inheritance

<img align="right" hspace="10" src="http://www.firesociety.com/imagelib/f0f219158e118e83--48e6c3bc-118b553e788-4470-1950605376.jpg">The Presidential election of 2008 is the most important event facing our nation this year. Quite naturally, our attention is focused not only on the candidates, but the many challenges and issues, both domestic and international, that the next President will have to deal with. Concerning these issues, we all have our ideas and potential solutions and on this site as well as others, we have the opportunity to discuss them. While there are many different opinions expressed, a common point missing in these discussions is how we can make these solutions happen. The truth of the matter is that the elites who control the two major parties are not listening to &quot;we the people&quot;. Sure, they say that they are, and at every opportunity, they are quick to mention the Constitution or the rule of law or the will of the people. These phrases however, have become sound bites brought out at the appropriate TV moment to enhance their election prospects. Once in power however, they quickly ignore what they promised. The two major parties have engineered the election process to assure themselves continued power. Using the propaganda machines of the DEM/GOP/MSM, they have cleverly duped the American people ...
