I do not have a brilliant mind, and senility sets in more often than not. I have made myself very familiar with forum rules, but I humbly ask for more clarification. I gladly play by rules, rules that are well defined, easily understood, and not subject to interpretation. Please help. Thank you.

More often than not we are complaining about what is not right. Many things could beimproved upon. What we are missing are the wonderful blessing. We have so many of them that we take them for granted. Please feel free to add to them as you see fit: I am thankful for living in the United States of America, for our Military, for the freedom of worship, and my loving heavenly Father. I am glad that I can say what I want to on this forum, if my house in on fire, I can call 911 if a big, burly guy brakes into my home, I can call 911 I can turn on the TV, or turn it off if I don't like what I see, I can order most everything from the Internet, I have a cell phone, and a home phone, I have food on my table, I have a roof over my head, I have running water, I have a access to medical care, however faulty it may be, I have electricity and AC, I have a car, and still enough gas available to go places, I don't live in Europe and pay twice as much for ...

I need some help in this matter. Every time I go to the store I see signs in Spanish and English, and I do list Spanish first for a reason. When I call ......it is 1 for Spanish, if you want English, stay on the line. It is driving me absolutely crazy. I have now started a campaign in which I write to each and every one of those places that come to my attention, asking them why English isn't the only language, and why they discriminate against people from non-spanish speaking Countries. I don't have much impact on my own, so I wonder if any of you are willing to do the same?

Ultimately, there can be no freedom in a society without the freedom of speech. This freedom has been under assault for several years now by those who argue that freedom of speech does not include the freedom to “offend.” Much of the ridicule directed at such “political correctness” has been focused on so-called “hate speech” bans, which are frequently found on college campuses and whose intent is to allegedly protect people from speech that “offends.” Enforcing such bans has proved problematic. Who among us hasn’t been offended by someone else’s speech at one time or another? Who among us hasn’t felt our beliefs and values insulted by someone else’s speech? If every one of us who has been “offended” by someone else’s speech demanded such speech be silenced, there would be very little free speech left. The story below describes the latest attempt by some Muslims to stifle our cherished ...
