IS A VIABLE THIRD PARTY PRACTICAL IN OUR LIFETIME?

Neither of todays two Major Parties goes back to our Founding, although both have ties to Jeffersons Democrat Republican Party. The current Democratic Party was actually Started by Andrew Jackson in 1828 that is more than Fifty Years after our Declaration of Independence. They had full Power By 1832. four years it took them to establish a Dominant Party that has lasted 180 years. The Current Republican Party was started in 1854 by John C. Freemont, Abraham Lincoln, Free-Soilers, anti Slave advocates, disgruntled Whigs and Democrats. John Freemont was Defeated in 1856 for President, but a mere four Years later the election of Abraham Lincoln Launched the Republican Party into the Party that has lasted for 150 years and dominated the Latter half of the 19th Century through the first part of the 20th Century. My Point is that both of these Parties were born in very short order by dissatisfied constituents of other Parties and achieved domination in a very short period of time. It is My belief that now is the time to rally the dissatisfied disenfranchised contituents in The United States and get behind a Viable Third Party that may replace another Party or just coexist with the other two. Either way it ...

I guess America has fallen asleep again. The apathy of thye American People really makes me sick sometimes. >> Recommend to Friend | >> Send comments to The Loft "The Nation" Attacks the Military Posted by Greg Reeson February 19, 2008 at 12:34 pm >> Printer-Friendly Version An editorial set to come out in the March 3rd issue of the Nation reveals with great clarity the far left's disdain for all things military. In "More Guns, No Butter," we are told that "The ever-voracious Pentagon is using this fragile moment as cover for seizing an even greater share of the nation's dwindling resources--trillions more in federal indebtedness to fight a phantom 'war on terror.'" The failure to recognize the strategic importance of fighting terrorism leads to an all-out attack on the nation's defense budget. The editorial derides our investment in expensive weapons systems with the allegation that platforms designed for use against the now-defunct Soviet Union have nothing to do with fighting terrorism. That statement is only partially true. Some of the systems designed for conventional warfare are not suited to irregular fights like Afghanistan and Iraq. But others, like UAVs, close air support aircraft, and precision guided weapons ...

McCain Says No New Taxes By AP STAFF Associated Press February 18, 2008 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican John McCain says there will be no new taxes during his administration if he is elected president. ''No new taxes,'' the likely GOP presidential nominee said during a taped interview broadcast Sunday. McCain told ABC's ''This Week'' that under no circumstances would he increase taxes, and added that he could ''see an argument, if our economy continues to deteriorate, for lower interest rates, lower tax rates, and certainly decreasing corporate tax rates,'' as well as giving people the ability to write off depreciation and eliminating the alternative minimum tax. McCain was defending his support for an extension of tax cuts sought by President Bush, which McCain voted against. The Arizona senator now says allowing the tax breaks to expire would amount to an unacceptable tax increase. Later Sunday, the Democratic Party criticized John McCain's statements on continuing the tax cuts, saying his policies would not differ from the past eight years under the Bush administration. ''John McCain showed today that he is about as far from a maverick as they come,'' said Karen Finney, spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee. McCain's ''no new ...

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Redneck?

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Redneck? Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question: #You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes round the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ............................................................. Democrat's Answer : Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society ...

Republican Tea Party

http://gopteaparty.com/ Patriot Samuel Adams is known as the Father of the American Revolution. To move the colonist toward independence from the tyrannical rule of King George, Adams started "brush fires" of revolutionary thought that spread through the colonies so quickly that they could not be extinguished. Soon a group of patriots formed the "Sons of Liberty." The group met in churches and at Faneuil Hall in Boston. In 1773, colonists led by the Sons of Liberty staged a Tea Party in Boston Harbor aboard a ship that contained a cargo of the King's imported tea. In open rebellion to the King, patriots tossed the tea overboard. It is past time for Republican conservatives to start "brush fires" and stage a "tea party." With Sen. John McCain's unanticipated and rapid ascent to "presumptive GOP Presidential Nominee," the liberal (left) wing of the Republican Party is positioned to seize control of the party and its conservative soul. This cannot be allowed. McCain was able to move within striking distance of the nomination with only about 35 percent of the Republican vote. This anomaly was caused by so-called "moderate" independents voting for McCain in Republican primaries. McCain has a critical weakness ... ...

IMO The Republican Party does not do anything with a short-sighted vision. I believe that the numbers have told them for quite some time that the Republican Candidate (no matter Who) will be thoroughly beaten in November (just look at the voting #'s 2-1 dem-Rep). They have had Romney out there to get "battle tested", and get him Name recognition. When he reached MAXIMUM POTENTIAL they pulled him out. He will have no further battle wounds inflicted either in the primary or the General election. They are willing to let McCain be destroyed in the General election, and leave the Dem ticket to win. There will be such a backlash against the Dem policies, that the Republican Party will gain control in the House and Senate by 2010, and Romney will easily win the Republican Nomination, and the General Election in a back lash against the Dems. A House again United

Last year, Montana Republicans switched to what's called a closed caucus system. Unlike the Iowa caucuses, people can't just show up and participate. The only Republicans allowed to vote are county precinct captains, county central committee members, elected county officials, state legislators, statewide and regional elected officials and state executive board members. Western Montana GOP caucuses a spectator event for most Montana politics, historically a participatory event, becomes spectator sport come Tuesday. That's the day of the state Republican caucus, during which a select few from the GOP will weigh in on their favorite presidential pick while the rest of us look on. Republicans in elected office will vote, as will local and statewide party officials, but only after hearing from each candidate - by proxy, of course. To listen in on how conservative politics are shaping up in western Montana, drop by the evening caucus events in your county. Missoula County Republicans will start with a social hour at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the DoubleTree Hotel in Missoula, then will give speakers a chance to promote the cause of individual candidates at 7 p.m. Voting will follow. All qualified electors must bring a photo ID to the caucus, said ...

Waiting for Reagan

Waiting for Reagan You fight an election with the politicians you have. by William Kristol 01/28/2008, Volume 013, Issue 19 Conservative editorialists, radio hosts, and bloggers are unhappy. They don't like the Republican presidential field, and many of them have been heaping opprobrium on the various GOP candidates with astonishing vigor. For example: John McCain--with a lifetime American Conservative Union rating of 82.3--is allegedly in no way a conservative. And, though the most favorably viewed of all the candidates right now, both among Republicans and the electorate as a whole, he would allegedly destroy the Republican party if nominated. Or take Mike Huckabee. He was a well-regarded and successful governor of Arkansas, reelected twice, the second time with 40 percent of the black vote. He's come from an asterisk to second in the national GOP polls with no money and no establishment support. Yet he is supposedly a buffoon and political naïf. He's been staunchly pro-life and pro-gun and is consistently supported by the most conservative primary voters--but he is, we're told, no conservative either. Or Mitt Romney. He's a man of considerable accomplishments, respected by many who have worked with and for him in various endeavors. He took conservative ...
