Everyone, please take the time to check into this developing organization and let me have your thoughts on it. Thanks. http://shadowcongress.net/issues.html Shadow Congress is the idea of an Ordinary American. He shall remain nameless for the time being. This is not about him. Ordinary is a correct identification, he is not a celebrity or famous in any public sense. His education includes a law degree, he served in the United States Marine Corps, a Captain of the New York State Police. He directed the Division of Criminal Investigation of a large and important state, he prosecuted criminals. He has, for all of those years, in the sense and requirement of the oath of office for all those jobs, supported, protected and defended the Constitution of the United States of America. Like millions of other Americans he recognized the political class in Washington D.C. has miserably failed their responsibilities, and because of that failure our Constitution is severely damaged, in fact in danger. This is a serious matter. Somebody ought to do something, Yes, somebody should. Guess who? Yes, all of us. That is what Shadow Congress is about. We will: Regain our property rights; our courts have surrendered them to ...

1.6 Billion going to Mexico-None to Border Sheriffs

http://www.elpasotimes.com/news/ci_9873195?_requestid=6385339 Sheriffs say money still needed to secure border By Brandi Grissom / Austin Bureau Article Launched: 07/14/2008 12:00:00 AM MDT AUSTIN -- Border sheriffs are back to scouting out new avenues for federal dollars after Congress failed to approve money for local law enforcement in a measure that sent millions in aid to help Mexico fight drug cartels. And, the sheriffs said this week they are worried that U.S. technology and equipment sent to Mexico could end up in the wrong hands and one day be used against them. "We hope we're not giving them more ammunition," said Donald Reay, executive director of the Texas Border Sheriffs Coalition. Congress approved the Merida Initiative, which will send about $1.6 billion in aid to Mexico through 2010, but stripped from the bill a measure that would have also given U.S. border sheriffs $100 million. While the sheriffs and Republican lawmakers who wanted to send them money were disappointed, critics said Congress has already given money to border law enforcement and that throwing more money at fighting drug trafficking won't stop the violence in Mexico. "No amount of money will ever stop the flow of drugs into this country, and it's unrealistic to ...

Juarez Residents Take Children To View Murders

http://www.elpasotimes.com/news/ci_98... Good example of the Mexican third world mentality sneaking across our borders day after day. The Ju??rez police department is asking residents to stop taking children to view the murder scenes that have become a daily occurrence in the troubled city. The public request was issued earlier this week amid continuing violence that has claimed more than 580 lives this year, fueled by a war among drug traffickers. Parents, babies, children and even the family dog are regular visitors to crime scenes on Ju??rez streets. Children have even been spotted recording scenes with video cameras or taking photographs with cell phones. "The children who view these bloody events will suffer traumas that will affect them now and in the future," said Aid?? Arellanes of the social work and prevention division of the Ju??rez public safety department. "If it affects us daily as adults, it will especially affect a minor," Arellanes said in a statement aimed at parents. Police also said that residents hanging out at crime scenes could potentially be in danger if a situation arose. Some Ju??rez parents have said they had instructed their children to drop to the ground for cover if they hear gunfire. The Associated ...

Funny - Actual Letter Sent to Senator Harkin

The Honorable Tom Harkin 731 Hart Senate Office Building Phone (202) 224 3254 Washington DC, 20510 Dear Senator Harkin, As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you. My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions are accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying ...

Texas Border City Actually Embraces Fence Idea

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gdK1ODlZos2Mu4xnmJbg38MPopLQD91PS5I01 By MICHELLE ROBERTS – 21 hours ago DEL RIO, Texas (AP) — This city on the Rio Grande stands virtually alone, and not just because it's in vast, desolate West Texas. Unlike other Texas cities along the Mexican border, Del Rio actually welcomes the 15-foot-high steel wall the U.S. government wants to build against illegal immigrants. Other cities have denounced the barrier as a waste of money, an eyesore, a giveback of hard-won American soil and an insult to Mexico. They have barred government surveyors from setting foot on city property, refused to sell land to Washington, or dug in their heels over the selling price. But Del Rio's City Council voted unanimously last month to sell 70 acres to the Department of Homeland Security for $1.2 million. The mayor said the city considers itself lucky; it bought the land decades ago for $90,000 and regards it as useless. "There's nothing here," Mayor Efrain Valdez said, gesturing toward the land near the water. "So if you put a fence here, it really doesn't bother us." Moreover, Valdez said the existing chain-link fence is too easy for illegal immigrants to jump. And he said he is glad Homeland Security ...
