Before you pull the Obama lever look here!

This is going to be a tough election. We are going to be stuck with, in my opinion, the lesser of two evils again unless a third party can gain a lot of traction before November. I received these clips from different friends at different times. Watching them together made me uneasy. The first shows prominent Dems talking about Iraq and the WMD they said Bush lied about: http://WWW.bercasio.Com/movies/dems-wmd-before-Iraq.wmv This next is Obama talking about the military and defense spending. Please keep in mind as you watch that national defense is a prime responsibility of the Federal Government. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs Last and longest shows population growth and the effect that immigration both legal and illegal will have on our future. It is a little long ... but please see it through! http://www.numbersusa.com/content/resources/video/recommended/immigration-numbers.html What do you think?

Can we really afford ethanol?

Ethanol reduces our food supply, uses energy to produce, raises food prices, reduces gas mileage and ... to top it off has the potential for creating more smog. Here are some extracts from an article written in Business Week on April 27, 2006 by Ed Wallace. There is a link to the article at the end of the extracts. It is interesting reading. The bold in the extracts is mine. ***** Shortly thereafter, in yet another attempt to broaden the product's usage, Congress enacted a law that allowed car manufacturers to take excess mileage credits on any vehicle they built that was capable of burning an 85% blend of ethanol, better known as E85. General Motors ( GM ) took advantage of the credits, building relatively large volumes of the Suburban as a certified E85 vehicle. Although in real life that generation of the Suburban got less than 15 mpg, the credits it earned GM against its Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) ratings meant that on paper, the Suburban delivered more than 29 mpg . ***** Even more damaging, the EPA's own attorney admitted to the judges that because of its higher volatility, putting ethanol into the nation's fuel supply would likely ...

On a different thread the subject of our youth's degeneration was brought up. When I checked my inbox friend had sent me this video clip of a young man overcoming a challange. As far as I know, he got very little media coverage. He probably wasn't seeking any. But, in my opinion, he and all our young people who overcome adversity should be recognized and praised for their courage and drive. Let's use this thread to post the accomplishments of our young people, civilian and military, who have the courage and drive to overcome adversity. Post there accomplishments here. Watch this young man and be proud for his achievement! http://www.heraldleaderphoto.com/2008/05/31/adam-bender/

The Second American Revolution

Our nation is going through a critical time in its history. We have a government that: * will not let us develop our own resources. * goes on vacation without addressing critical energy legislation. * has the time to submit all their earmark spending. * block border security. * plot to give illegals healthcare. Please take the time to view this video. I sent it to about 30 people a day ago and it has turned up in my mailbox twice again addressed to an additional 70 people. See what you think. I will be interested in your comments. If you are like me you will especially like the comments toward the end http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=pKFKGrmsBDk

Thieves in the Night . Many believe our country is at a crossroads. If you don’t happen to believe it let’s take just a peek at what is going on. We are faced with: * War in Irag. * War in Afghanistan. * Iranian Nuclear Weapon * staggering National Debt. * invasion by illegal immigrants * national leaders out of touch with the people. * treaties that are giving away our nations sovereignty. Our elected officials Republican or Democrat cannot seem to agree on anything. They give lip service to spending control in the 30 second sound bites. They support the war and play political games with the funding. Pass legislation to build a border fence and remove the funding! But there is one thing they are totally committed to… spending your tax dollars without any control or oversight. I am talking about earmark or ‘PORK BARREL’ spending. The Congressional Leadership delayed funding for our troops and the border fence until the last possible minute and then approved money for our troops and removed money for the border fence. Faced with ...

Voters Reject Major Political Parties!

A suprising trend is appearing on the political scene! Citizens from both major parties are re-registering in large numbers and declaring themselves as independent voters no longer willing to support officials who demonstrate that they do not have the best interests of our country and military at heart!. **** This of course hasn't happened yet! But it could. We have been given the opportunity to communicate with a large number of people and from what I gather here on this site people are disenchanted with Washington. I believe that is a giant understatement but I'm trying to put a good face on the situation. We have all been e-mailing, faxing and phoning to get the attention of our elected officials and they may or may not listen and if they give the appearance of listening they may be trying to accomplish their goal by passing legislation under the radar. The amnesty bill ('Deam Act') is an example. It failed on its own so they tried to pass is as an amendment to an appropriations bill. They take these actions and the incumbents think the party will get them elected. Folks by numbers... we are the parties. We may not bankroll them ...

Sovereignty under Attack...Senate bent on giving it away

Back in 1982 a Law of the Sea Treaty was debated at the UN. The international treaty was rejected because it was contrary to U.S. interests. Guess what the same treaty was voted out of committee and is about to be debated in the Senate and has a chance to pass. This treaty as I understand it: * Gives the UN the right to levy fees. * In some cases control of our Navy * has the potential to supercede OUR CONSTITUTION ! We may be seeing how an international treaty can do that now with the Supreme Court hearing the Medillin case to see if Texas law has the right to punish the man who murdered of two female, teenage Texas citizens. Why? Because by treaty he had the right to talk to his embassy. He was read the same rights that we citizens would have been read, but, as foreign national he should have been told he could contact his embassy. Sooo, Mexico got involved in stopping Texas justice! If they win there are about 50 more similar cases. The Senate is trotting out the "Dream Amnesty" bill again possibly as early as tomorrow (10-17-2007). Grassroots ...

Mexico to Canada Superhighway already underway

I tuned into Glenn Beck's TV show tonight for the first time tonight and caught an interview with Sen. Virgil Goode of Virginia. They were discussing the super highway through America's heartland. I thought this highway was in the early concept stages, but it is apparently through planning and into if not through the bidding process. In fact there were billboards advertising the highway. I found them on http://infowars.net . Sen. Goode confirms the work is in progress. But he says it is being built in two segments. If I heard correctly the one already in progress is the southern section Texas to Kansas City. It is called the Trans Texas Corridor. The other section will start in Canada and come down and make the connection. The Senator stated that the highway would allow China to send its products into Mexico, be loaded onto Mexican trucks and shipped directly to destinations in the USA without the requirement to be offloaded and loaded onto American trucks. Also avoiding fees paid to the U.S.A. This suggests to me that anything can be shipped anywhere in the country with very little inspection. The Mexican companies and truckers will reap the profits and we ...
