msbobbie I would like to make a motion that all of these stickied threads be unstickied. They are taking up half the space on the front page, leaving little room for new topics. Two of them have not been posted on for a month, one is locked, others have not been posted on for 2-3 weeks. If a topic is popular, the posters will keep it pushed to the top without having it stickied. What say you? =================================== Stickied threads make no sense to me.

CONVENTION SHOW STOPPER!

Just received the following in an email. ================================ June 12, 2008 CONVENTION SHOW STOPPER! Ron Paul: "Government Must Respond To Petitions for Redress" Can the GOP delegates nominate a Presidential candidate who openly defies the Constitution? There is a significant development unfolding that could very well become a "show stopper" for the Republicans expecting the nomination of John McCain to proceed smoothly in St. Paul at the GOP's upcoming national convention. Normally, convention delegates would be expected to cast their vote for McCain because he received more votes than Ron Paul or Mitt Romney during the primaries and caucuses. Beyond this, Party rules require the votes be cast for McCain. However, the delegates are soon to face a new -- and very troubling and very public conundrum: What if there were a set of new, irrefutable facts regarding Senator McCain and Rep. Paul that would "stop the show" and bring forth the possibility of a convention upset? These startling facts would force the delegates to question their consciences, and put each of them on the horns of a practical and deep moral dilemma that will require them to search their souls for an answer to a VERY important ...

Illegal Aliens Flee When Faced With Penalties, Fewer Jobs

http://www.constitutionparty.com/news_print.php?aid=742 04/06/2008 ILLEGAL ALIENS FLEE WHEN FACED WITH PENALTIES, FEWER JOBS by Howard Phillips conservativeusa.org Apologists for illegal aliens claim that it would be impossible to remove the millions now in the United States. Those of us who believe that the law should be upheld have claimed that by enforcing the laws against employment of illegals and stepping up efforts to catch illegals it would be possible to stimulate a massive "self-deportation". Faced with the possibility of being caught, and without the lure of a job, most illegals would voluntarily go somewhere else. Prince William County in Virginia has now provided strong proof that we are right about self-deportation. The county’s Board of Supervisors recently approved an effort by local police and other county employees to identify and arrest illegal aliens. At the same time, the housing slump has eroded employment opportunities. The result, according to The Washington Post (a consistently pro-illegal paper which has been intensely critical of Prince Williams new policy), has been a massive departure from the county. Businesses that catered mainly to illegal immigrants find themselves threatened with bankruptcy. Spanish-language masses have suffered a sharp drop in attendance. School attendance has shown a similar trend in ...

How to destroy America

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. In 2004, there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington , DC , filled to capacity by many of America 's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, "Mexifornia," explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream. Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, "If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.'" "Here is how they do it," Lamm said: "First, to ...

Process for getting Constitution Party on ballot in Texas

In Texas alternate parties are required to submit petitions to be on the ballot. The number of valid signatures required is equal to one percent of the total votes cast in the most recent governor's race. That typically equates to 40-50 thousand signatures. The actual signing of petitions cannot begin until after the primary elections and no one who votes in those events may sign a petition of an alternate party. When you vote in a primary election you become a member of that party for the duration of the election year and cannot officially participate in the activities of any other party. THIS CANNOT BE STRESSED TOO MUCH! Following the primary elections, alternate parties have 75 days to gather the required signatures, collate them properly, and file them with the Secretary of State. We have until May 1st to gather signatures of approximately 70,000 qualified voters. The petition can be found at the link below. http://www.cptexas.org/docs/c11pm1.pdf
