You are free to disseminate this information, but we request that you credit NAFBPO as being the provider. El Universal (Mexico City) 9/5/08 - There is evidence that drug cartels are moving their operations to Argentina. Because of tougher enforcement measures in Mexico and Colombia, the “capos” are forced to seek countries with laws and enforcement more lax. Argentina has been considered only a “port of transit” for drugs until recently. The first indication of change was the discovery by Argentine police on July 18 of a narco lab and the subsequent arrest of nine Mexicans from Guanajuato, presumably members of the Sinaloa Cartel. Six days later, two Colombian narcos were murdered, followed in the next few weeks by the abduction and murders of three businessmen. The investigations lead to the same motive: the illegal production of synthetic drugs. Because of Argentina’s loose enforcement of ...

6 September 2008 Will Obama Checkmate McCain By Calling On Him To Pledge A “Bipartisan” Amnesty? [ Peter Brimelow ] @ 4:42 pm It’s obvious from our email that a lot of people desperately want a reason to vote against Barack Obama - as Ryan Kennedy put it : “Sarah Barracuda. All our hopes rest on thee.” But Obama and the Democrats can easily break this momentum. All Obama has to do is ask John McCain (who, despite appearances, is still the GOP presidential nominee) to pledge, in the spirit of “ bipartisanship ” he was going on about Thursday night, that they will both work together for amnesty in the next Congress, regardless of which of them goes to the White House and which of them remains in the U.S. Senate. McCain would be really stuck. He can’t refuse because (a) he really wants an amnesty and was fanatically committed to the Kennedy-Bush version; (b) he actually believes all this innumerate nonsense about the Hispanic vote. But he can’t agree because that will utterly dispel the delusions of his desperate base . Checkmate!
Palin to Do First Television Interview on ABC by Associated Press Sunday, September 7, 2008 ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Republican vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin is offering her first televised interview to ABC News in the coming week in Alaska. Palin, the surprise pick of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, has been giving campaign speeches alongside the Arizona senator since the GOP convention but has not sat down for an interview about her views. A McCain-Palin adviser says an interview was offered to ABC’s Charlie Gibson several days ago and that they expect it to happen in the latter part of the week in Alaska. Palin is the governor of Alaska and is expected to return home at midweek after more joint appearances with McCain. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/07/palin-to-do-first-television-interview-on-abc/

Girl Forced to Marry at Nine Murdered After She Sought Annulment Saturday, September 06, 2008 A 17-year-old Pakistani girl forced to marry a 45-year-old when she was only nine was reportedly killed by her parents, according to the Weekend Australian. The murder has intensified despair among human rights workers in Pakistan over a recent spate of "honor killings," in which two women and three teenage school girls were buried alive in Baluchistan Province because they wanted to marry the men of their choice. Saira Nusrat Bibi was successfully fighting a legal battle to have her marriage annulled. As she left court in the Punjabi city of Sahiwal, she was surrounded by a group of men reportedly sent by her parents, and shot in front of police, The Australian reported. The Baluchistan case was worsened by an attempt by a member of the country's national parliament, Senator Israr Ullah Zehri, to defend it, telling colleagues that "these are centuries-old traditions and I will continue to defend them,” The Australian reports. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,418025,00.html

Immigration -- The Elephant in the Room - America's Future - Too Important for a Public Discussion?

Washington Post -- September 6 Tide of immigrants could one day overwhelm us ... An increase of 135 million people by 2050 is equivalent to the entire populations of Mexico and Canada moving here. Assuming the same ratio of population to infrastructure that exists today, the United States would need to build and pay for 36,000 schools. We would need to develop enough land to accommodate 52 million new housing units, along with places for the people who lived in them to shop and work. We would also have to construct enough roads to handle 106 million more vehicles. Of course, our country can "fit" more people. But such a dramatic increase would affect many issues about which Americans are concerned, including the environment, traffic, congestion, sprawl and the loss of open spaces. Technology and planning could help manage this situation, but there is no way they could offset all of the impact of 135 million more people. This massive increase also would have implications for the size and scope of government; more densely settled societies almost always are more heavily regulated societies. [Not to mention the erasure of the American culture.] American Patrol Comment: The challenge is to ...

Feds intercept 27 illegal immigrants UNION-TRIBUNE BREAKING NEWS TEAM 7:12 p.m. September 4, 2008 Federal authorities announced Thursday the interception of 27 illegal immigrants from boats off the San Diego County coast. The first human smuggling attempt was discovered about 3 a.m. Tuesday by the U.S. Coast Guard about two miles off Imperial Beach. Border Patrol agents were notified and briefly chased a 26-foot motorboat as it attempted to return to Mexican waters, according to authorities. The vessel was stopped and three women and 11 men – all Mexican nationals – were arrested for entering the country illegally. The second attempt took place about 6 a.m. Wednesday when Border Patrol agents encountered a 24-foot pleasure boat as it approached Mission Bay. As agents talked to one of the people on the vessel, they noticed the operator maneuvered the boat to prevent agents from seeing inside the cabin. The agents boarded the vessel and discovered 13 people crammed inside the cabin. Agents determined the eight men and five women were Mexican nationals and arrested them, along with two U.S. citizens who were operating the boat, according to authorities. All 27 people apprehended face deportation. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20080904-1912-bn04smuggle.html

Mrs. Palin goes to Washington By Jan Herron Sep 5, 2008 - 11:10:14 PM Prior to Sen. John McCain's announcement of his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, I had decided not to cast my presidential vote for this election cycle. I'm reconsidering. I like her spunk and admire her determination, not to mention her demonstrated drive for smaller government and her implied willingness to go after political corruption in Washington. What remains to be fully flushed out is Sarah Palin's position on illegal immigration. Word is that she is against amnesty; let's hope so, because the tipping point for me and many American voters on whether we vote for a McCain-Palin ticket rests on this pivotal issue. Theoretically, Sarah Palin could be God's gift to America. Her record to date indicates she may be one of the few with the chutzpah, courage and conviction to take a unequivocal proactive stand on issues threatening America's heritage, sovereignty, survival and the intentional dismantling of the middle class. The liberals seem to have an issue with really strong women, as evidenced by how they trashed Senator Clinton. I must say, any woman who has field-dressed a moose, cleans the fish she ...

Job applicant is busted by U.S. Border Patrol ASSOCIATED PRESS • September 5, 2008 DETROIT-- The U.S. Border Patrol didn't have to go far to make this bust: a man who applied to become a border agent. Jugert Haxhiu, 26, lied about U.S. citizenship on his application and during a job interview in August, the Border Patrol said. He's charged with falsely claiming to be a citizen, which is a requirement to be an agent. Haxhiu is a native of Albania who was ordered out of the United States in 2004, agent Richard Gordon said in a court filing. Defense attorney Richard O'Neill represented Haxhiu during a brief hearing Thursday in federal court in Detroit. He declined to comment today. During the job interview, Haxhiu "went on to state that, although he had no proof of U.S. citizenship, he could obtain proof from the immigration office upon request," Gordon said. He's due in court again on Sept. 24.

Sarah Palin criticizes Biden, Obama Hillary Clinton shows her displeasure with GOP BY TOM BRUNE | tom.brune@newsday.com 10:43 PM EDT, September 6, 2008 COLORADO SPRINGS - Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin yesterday challenged the reform credentials of her Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden , contrasting his many years and many friends in Washington with her reputation as a reformist outsider. Yet as the McCain campaign attempted on its post-convention swing West to wrest the issue of "change" away from the Democrats, Barack Obama for the first time yesterday took a shot at Palin, scoffing at her boast that she's an anti-earmark "champion." Obama's former Democratic primary rival Hillary Rodham Clinton once again brushed aside questions about Palin yesterday as she marched with labor and stumped for Democrats in Manhattan and Staten Island. "This election is about issues," she said. With polls showing a close race with two months to go to the election, the McCain and Obama campaigns have focused on asserting that they, not their rivals, will bring the change needed to a Washington many Americans deplore as unresponsive. Seeking distance from his unpopular president and party, GOP presidential nominee John McCain brought his "change is coming" message yesterday to ...

Goode takes on ‘anchor baby’ issue By Brian McNeill Published: September 4, 2008 U.S. Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr. wants to end what he calls the nation’s “anchor baby situation” — and he’s willing to amend the U.S. Constitution if that’s what it takes. In a Wednesday debate in Danville, Goode — a vocal foe of illegal immigration — repeatedly denounced the policy that guarantees American citizenship to anyone born in the United States. “The anchor baby situation is a magnet for illegals to come to our country,” Goode said. “I’m opposed to that.” Goode argues that illegal immigrants are sneaking into the United States to give birth so that their offspring automatically will become American citizens. With citizenship, he said, they become eligible for benefits such as food stamps and Medicaid. “It’s a drain on our social services,” he said. “It’s a drain on our hospitals because in most cases they’re not going to pay.” Goode, a six-term GOP incumbent, said in an interview that he is one of 104 co-sponsors of a bill in Congress that would prohibit the children of illegal immigrants from attaining instant American citizenship. He added that he would also support a Constitutional ...
