Yeah, I know, there are more important topics of substance but it's so rare for a movie like this to come out. My favorite quote from the trailer is: "I love America. That's why it needs to be destroyed." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CYSGCoflAA

Please Read 2 Disclaimers First: 1. A friend sent me this information. I am not familiar with the website where the info is found. 2. Phillip Berg is also apparently a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. Obama Sued in Philadelphia Federal Court on Grounds he is Constitutionally Ineligible for the Presidency by Jeff Schreiber America's Right.com A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States. Phillip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA) County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit--just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver--for the health of the Democratic Party. "I filed ...

Dallas schools plan to ease grading standards angers teachers 12:36 AM CDT on Saturday, August 16, 2008 By KENT FISCHER / The Dallas Morning News Dallas public school students who flunk tests, blow off homework and miss assignment deadlines can make up the work without penalty, under new rules that have angered many teachers. The new rules will be distributed when teachers return to their campuses next week. But many who have already seen the regulations say they are too lenient on slackers, and will come at the expense of kids who work hard. For example, the new rules require teachers to accept late work and prevent them from penalizing students for missed deadlines. Homework grades that would drag down a student's overall average will be thrown out. School officials said the new guidelines are needed to ensure that all district teachers operate under the same rules and to create a "fair system" for grading students. "The purpose behind it is to ensure fair and credible evaluation of learning – from grade to grade and school to school," said Denise Collier, the district's chief academic officer. Some teachers said the new rules offer kids too many loopholes. "It's ...

My husband belongs to a gaming forum (don't ask which one, it's too geeky). The other day someone posted that George W. Bush is somehow responsbile for Russia invading Georgia and that he will gain something from it. It's interesting that some people can on the one hand believe George W. Bush is an idiot not capable of running the country and on the other hand he is so dastardly that he could pull something like that off. Anyway, that led to the discovery of the George Bush Conspiracy Generator. It's pretty funny. You should also check out the Obama Quote Generator while you're there: Buttafly: The Procrastinator's Paradise

EPA Denies Texas' Request For Ethanol Waiver

EPA Denies Texas' Request for Ethanol Waiver Thursday, August 07, 2008 LUBBUCK, Texas — The Environmental Protection Agency has denied a request from Texas to temporarily reduce ethanol requirements for gasoline in hopes of bringing down corn prices. Gov. Rick Perry called the decision "a mistake" and "bad public policy." EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson spoke to Perry about his waiver request by phone Thursday, shortly before Johnson was to announce the agency's decision publicly, said the governor's spokeswoman, Allison Castle. A federal energy bill passed in December requires that 9 billion gallons of ethanol be blended into gasoline from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2009. Perry asked the EPA in April to drop the Renewable Fuels Standard requirement to 4.5 billion gallons, saying demand for ethanol is raising corn prices for livestock producers and driving up food prices. "I am greatly disappointed with the EPA's inability to look past the good intentions of this policy to see the significant harm it is doing to farmers, ranchers and American households," Perry said. "For the EPA to assert that this federal mandate is not affecting food prices not only goes against common sense, but every American's grocery bill."

'Major discovery' from MIT primed to unleash solar revolution Scientists mimic essence of plants' energy storage system Anne Trafton, News Office July 31, 2008 http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2008/oxygen-0731.html In a revolutionary leap that could transform solar power from a marginal, boutique alternative into a mainstream energy source, MIT researchers have overcome a major barrier to large-scale solar power: storing energy for use when the sun doesn't shine. Daniel Nocera describes new process for storing solar energy View video post on MIT TechTV Until now, solar power has been a daytime-only energy source, because storing extra solar energy for later use is prohibitively expensive and grossly inefficient. With today's announcement, MIT researchers have hit upon a simple, inexpensive, highly efficient process for storing solar energy. Requiring nothing but abundant, non-toxic natural materials, this discovery could unlock the most potent, carbon-free energy source of all: the sun. "This is the nirvana of what we've been talking about for years," said MIT's Daniel Nocera, the Henry Dreyfus Professor of Energy at MIT and senior author of a paper describing the work in the July 31 issue of Science. "Solar power has always been a limited, far-off solution. Now we can seriously think about solar power as ...

Lawmakers head home after impasse on gas prices By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - Lawmakers sped for the exits Friday as Congress was to begin a five-week recess after a summer session noteworthy for bitter partisanship and paralysis on the issue topmost in the minds of many voters: the cost of gasoline. As its last major act, the House passed by a 409-4 vote its first spending bill, a $72.7 billion measure awarding generous increases to veterans programs and military base construction projects. More noteworthy however, was what Congress failed to do: pass energy legislation and other measures aimed at lowering the price of gasoline. Senate Republicans blocked a bill aimed at curbing speculation in oil markets, while a similar bill and several others by House Democrats — including a plan to encourage drilling in already available coastal areas and in Alaska — failed to advance after party leaders brought them to the floor under procedures that required supermajorities to pass. Republicans have been pressing to allow oil exploration in areas that are currently off limits, including the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. They have been relentless in their assault on Democrats over ...

Jon Voight: Obama Sowing Socialist Seeds

I just find it refreshing that someone from what I usually refer to as Hollyweird doesn't love Obama. Monday, July 28, 2008 VOIGHT: My concerns for America Obama sowing socialist seeds in young people OP-ED We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up. Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset. The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America. The Democrats have targeted ...
