A Question for Ron Paul supporters

I recognize this is a potentially volatile area on these forums. I've been a memeer for a long time, however I rarely post. As I've watched and read, it seems that there are a lot of Anti-Ron Paul individuals as well as a few, very vocal Pro-Ron Paul individuals. I have looked into Ron Paul as a candidate and so far many of his views align with mine. His stance on giving the power back to us as the citizens of the United States and taking it away from 'career politicians' is admirable. However, in seeing these forums I must ask a question to the supporters of Ron Paul. Ron Paul appears to want to give us back many freedoms that are being taken away little by little, including the right to free speech. However, so far on this site, almost all of you as supporters of Ron Paul uphold the right for you to speak freely, but if anyone else exercises this same right to disagree with you, you jump on them. It appears you blast them, and call them names, berating them for being stupid. Why do I want to align myself with this kind of behavior? Does ...

Al Gore - "The Earth Has a Fever"

I know there is already a thread for Global Warming. However, I did not want to tackle all aspects of Global Warming, just the statement made by the esteemed Vice President Al Gore yesterday during the congressional hearings on Global Climate Change . "The Earth has a fever" His statement was something to the effect of "but you say it's only a 5° increase, however if your child has a fever of 103.6° (98.6° + 5°) then that's a problem." Well, Mr. Gore, that sounds reasonable, until you realize several things. 1st, the predicted current increase is not 5°, it's 1.56°. Secondly a fever is not based on surface temperature, it is based on Core Tempurature. That is why you don't place a thermoeter against the skin, you place it inside the mouth, rectum, etc. in order to get an accurate 'core' temperature. Surface temperature is only an indication of other issues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So, now that we know 'where' to get the earth's base temperature, lets take a trip to the core. Seeing as no one can actually reach the core, scientists use the Earth's magnetic field to calculate it. Apparently it's only a balmy 4000°K (around 6740°F). So, IfVice ...
