The Myth About Illegal Immigration
There is an old joke that a liberal is just a conservative that hasn't been mugged yet. I think this is some of what we are facing. Until you face the barbarians and see what they are doing to our country, perhaps you can remain sympathetic and believe the myth. Los Angeles is gone as a first world city, Tijuana and Juarez in Mexico are filthy third world nightmares. Maybe when the majority of large US cities has fallen as did Los Angeles, when Las Vegas, Phoenix, El Paso, Dallas, and other cities in the Southwest are third world nightmares, then the public will notice. But, as is often the case with a cancer, once it has metastasized it may be too late.
Another problem is captured in the old saying that a million deaths is a statistic, the death of one is a tragedy. We are facing this too. Many feel the illegal invasion is just a problem in the Southwest. Not so, recent statistics show that although Tucson and Phoenix are majority Hispanic, some 10-50% of those Hispanics are illegal Mexican invaders. Moreover, I have also read that Florida is composed of about 30% illegal aliens. It is a national crisis. We are all imperiled. Can a nation stand dedicated to criminal principles and populated by criminals?
So what to do? It is difficult to make changes in our society when the MSN, the leadership in the White House, Congress, our presidential candidates, and most of our major cities oppose them. But changes do happen when a majority of the American people want them. They were once only voices on the fringe, but steadfast people such as Tom Tancredo, Roy Beck, Pat Buchannan, and others remained strong. They brought the illegal immigration crisis to the center of our political debate and it is not going away. I think we must all draw inspiration from their work and pray to God that he help us save America. At the same time, I think we should put past loyalties aside. I admired President Bush’s response to 9/11, but that was much less of a problem that the invasion of our country. Treason is treason and we should oppose those who sell out America as vigorously as we oppose the invaders from Mexico. Remember, about three times as many are killed in America by illegal aliens (murdered and victims of drunk drivers) each year than were killed on 9/11.
I fear these are general actions and lack the specificity many are seeking. If you believe like many that there was divine inspiration in the founding of America, and that the inspiration was for a much larger purpose, then perhaps our prayers for divine intervention now will be fruitful. I believe God has a higher purpose for America than to become a balkanized state of racism, sin, crime, and third-world hopelessness.
Let’s pray for equal justice under law, the rule of law, and for liberty and justice. Let us pray for America in her hour of greatest peril.
