The statement gets me the most P.O.'d is

"“Plenty of us said it was a silly idea and not going to work, that the undocumented may be illegal but they are not stupid,” said Joshua Hoyt, executive director of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights."

This is outrageous. Millions of dollars spent on immigration attorneys and translators for Illegals that are caught. "The poor things just don't understand what's happening to them and are getting railroaded", yet this Pro Illegal group says they are tack sharp intelligent.

Man, do I get sick of this crap.

Any statement made by me is in my humble opinion (IMHO), unless followed by a reference. I take no responsibility for references, no matter how outrageous.

Robo Tech –

IMHO none of it is so much lack of intelligence as it is lack of imagination.  Our lawmakers and politicians cannot imagine the mind-set of the criminals crossing our southern border.  Most adults in this Country grew up with at least some concept of ‘respect for the law’ and for those who enforce the law.  Since I am a senior citizen, I have been spared the harsher realities of growing up with those in their late teens.  But even they still have grandparents who can, and do tell them of times when a man’s handshake was a legally binding contract.  That was true because neither person felt that they could live with the guilt of breaking their word.  We respected the law, simply because it was the law and we believed that it was written to protect the general populace.  We respected the enforcers and even the motto that they had on their cars was “To Protect and To Serve” and they were literally the servants of the public.  At one time, the elected officials were regarded as the servants of those who elected them too.

The Mexicans have never had that type of teaching or understanding.  To them the cops are only there for a challenge to circumvent.  And the laws are only there to make them pay money to fill the pockets of the rich with something that the poor don’t have.  They do not see how anyone can respect what is only there to oppress them.  To them, being a good liar is something to be proud of.  Lying, stealing, cheating, taking anything that will give them even momentary pleasure is part of life - - including taking a girl’s virginity or a young boy’s honor and sense of self worth.  They look on our appeal to sense of respect for the law as only weakness, to be exploited with no sense of guilt - - - - -just a fact of life.

What a gap in communication - - more like the Grand Canyon!

I do not see how those two mindsets could ever assimilate into one peaceful populace.  Thus I will prepare myself for the upheaval when everything hits the fan.  Arms, ammo, food, medication, water, heating and cooling, cooking . . . . . .

Do any of you see any other way to bridge the gap?

Pixie
