If anyone had told me that one day I'd be copying & pasting an article from the National Enquirer, I'd have told them they were nuts!

UPDATE: Fox News has independently confirmed the NATIONAL ENQUIRER'S exclusive report about John Edwards' late-night visit to the Beverly Hilton hotel earlier this week.

The ENQUIRER reported that Edwards arrived late Monday and was confronted by our reporters while trying to leave via the basement at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday. His mistress Rielle Hunter and her baby had checked into the hotel and Edwards was secretly visiting them.

Now Fox News has confirmed with a hotel security guard that Edwards was at the hotel and confronted by our reporters.

Fox says that Edwards asked the guard what our reporters were saying about him.

The guard told them that Edwards' "face just went totally white" when the guard told him our reporters were asking questions about Rielle Hunter.

Fox also confirmed our information that Edwards was not a registered guest at the hotel and that security escorted him out after our reporters' attempt to question him.

Now, Ima you know darned well that Mr. Edwards' behavior and "appetite" is personal and not subject to scrutiny. He was only making certain the woman and her child were warm and comfortable. There's nothing wrong with that, is there? I'm sure he was her attorney at one time and was just checking up on her to make sure her legal problems are still solved - nothing out of the ordinary there. And as for his ducking into the hotel men's bathroom ... maybe something or someone scared the P out of him and he had to make a quick pit stop. It's all very logical to me. I can see where he may have been going for ice cream for his wife, and this woman called in distress so he simply made a detour to assist her in her hours of need. Can't you at least give him SOME credit for his smoothness? WHY? WHY? WHY? (in Mr. Edwards' voice, naturally) 

Nice name, though --- Rielle Hunter. Now I suppose the media, "why-they-hunt-her"  (a little play on her name), --- Mr. Edwards will be in seclusion hiding.  If the story is true, he's a bigger fake than I thought already.  His wife's battle with cancer is bad enough without this weighing on her mind.  Her, I wish well. If true, he can go to hell.  Rhonda

I think he ducked into the mens room to pretty up a bit, knowing the photographers were outside waiting for him.  Who can blame him for wanting to look his best?  Like my grandpa used to say:  "You never have a second chance to make a good first impression."
