Since Mr. Gore is so intent on willing to save the planet and is so very willing to set the example *chortle* for everyone.  I say we all pitch in and give him one of there classic methods of transportation.  No emissions and it'll help him lose all that extra weight.

EDIT: Trying to align the image to make it not push my signature around because what I have to say in there is not the purpose of this topic.

"The President's most important role as commander in chief is to defend the United States, its territories and possessions, and its armed forces against attack, and he need not wait for Congress to declare war to do so." http://www.answers.com/topic/commande...

As for Al Gore,  3 Trillion will undoubtedly place him as the wealthiest man EVER on the face of the globe.  He asked for gasoline prices to go to $5 a gallon and the current Congress has made that a possibility. His current agenda will bring us to $8 per gallon which I'm sure they'll be obliging unless we do something about it.

This bit from that article sums it up quite well and proves the author an ignoramus and a total moonbat:

I don’t support the troops. I didn’t support them in the last war, I don’t support them in this war, and I won’t support them in the next war. It is the troops that are ultimately responsible for prosecuting this senseless and immoral war.

Gerald,

That role as CIC is/was a recognition that Congress is not always in session and even when it is, it is supposed to be a deliberative body.  The CIC can take immediate action, but ultimately Congress must approve and authorize funding for continued action as soon as possible.  Unfortunately, Congress does not have the cojones to do its job in this as well as other areas.  Congress should declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal or shut down the military action started by the CIC.  If they would do that, then we wouldn't have this constant bickering between Congress and the president.  It would be obvious if somebody committed sedition or treason.  We would be in or out.  And finally, we would be fully committed and fighting to win with no options kept off the table.  Seven years is more than enough time for Congress to step in and do its job.  Members seem to be too interested in getting re-elected and taking advantage of their perks to be very concerned about the people's business.  They are also influenced by lobbyists who provide additional fringe benefits and re-election funds and often these lobbyists represent special interests that are contrary to the general population of the country or the Congressman's district.  Over the years, Congress has stacked the deck in favor of incumbents in elections and reduced their accountability for the performance of government.  Today, I believe Congress is a bigger problem than the executive branch and harder to bring back under control of the people.

Thank you anyway, but I'll pass.  I'm not going to devote any further energy to such an idiotic statement as was in that article.  If that's your opinion as well, you're certainly entitled to it.
