That's correct : they do. Many were sickened over having to serve under Clinton. They were dreading another election. But if O is elected, it could be far worse than what Clinton did.
Yes, our troops are honorable men/women. It is a shame that the oath their Commander-in-Chief takes to protect and defend our Constitution, our country, and its people is not honored by him and his cronies.
I will always place our men and women in the military above anyone else in this country. Can't say the same for some of our Commander- in -Chief's.
To change the direction of this country, you must change the people who you have entrusted. Do not stand by and let others tell you what is good for your country. Vote these carpet baggers out of office.
Of course you can support the troops and not the commander in chief. I supported the troops but NOT jimmy Carter.. I supported the troops, but NOT Bill Clinton. The troops and the commander in chief are TWO separate entities. At least I can separate them. The troops are the troops forever--but commander in chiefs come and go !! The President may be the President--but that doesn't mean I have to like him or admire him or even believe him. Take Carter and Clinton for instance---PLEASE !! I don't want them !!! And you can put Obama in that same catagory !!
When Carter and Clinton were in the Presidency, our troops were not battle ready - just remember the fiasco in the desert of Iran when we secretly tried to rescue the hostages under the Carter administration.
Clinton? He loathed the military! The military bit their tongues and forcefully said "Yes Sir!"
The troops - who by the way receive their marching orders from the Commander-in-Chief - have a great respect for President Bush and serve him faithfully. If you don't believe that the troops want to serve their Commander-in-Chief, then you need to talk to those who have returned from their tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of them say they want to go back and finish the job they were sent to do.
The problem is we have the likes of John Forbes Kerry who betrayed the Vietnam War who is now a US Senator representing Massachusetts. You would expect him to be against the Iraq war because he was against the Vietnam War and betrayed its cause.
People have their own opinions on the war. We went in with the best information we had, only to find out that the WMDs were moved under the cover of darkness to Syria. THAT my friends is why we didn't find any WMDs. However, a secondary purpose was to oust Saddam Hussein and free the Iraqi people. THAT was successful.
Now our objective is to defend Iraq while training the Iraqis to defend themselves. From what I have read, we are one year away from turning it over to the Iraqis. They are beginning to defend themselves much better, so it may be less than a year before the entire mission is a success.
The people who can turn this success into a disaster are the people who were drafted into the Vietnam War who are now Congressmen and Senators.
Put yourselves in the shoes of today's military men and women. Would you want Congress to pull the plug before we complete our mission? I don't think so! That's exactly what happened when we pulled the plug in the Vietnam War. The likes of John Forbes Kerry and others who betrayed the War to contain the spread of Communism helped to pull the plug on the war. Hanoi Jane Fonda didn't help matters either. Just talk to the Vietnam Veterans and they will tell you they have no love for either Kerry or Fonda!
Our troops are successful because we are making progress in Iraq and Afghanistan - just like we did in the Tet Offensive. We had the Viet Cong with their backs to the ropes; and just when we were just about to win the war, CONGRESS PULLED THE PLUG! The Vietnamese celebrate the likes of John Forbes Kerry in their War Museum and say he helped North Vietnam to win the war.
I've got a newsflash for you: THEY DIDN'T WIN THE WAR BY DEFEATING US; THEY WON THE WAR BY DEFAULT BECAUSE WE PULLED OUT JUST WHEN WE WERE ABOUT TO WIN!
So please don't tell me you support the troops but not the Commander-in-Chief or the war efforts in Iraq or Afghanistan. Before you throw your support either way, just ask the troops coming home from the Middle East and ask them if what you are hearing in the Drive-by Media is true.
I did; and they told me not to believe what the Drive-by Media tells you about the war. Believe Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Gary Sinise, Tom Hanks, and others who support the war efforts say about the war. I don't think Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band would have made the effort to come to Wheaton, IL to Cantigny Park and Museum if they didn't support the war efforts in the Middle East.
I have a saying: To support the troops is to support the war. You may not believe me when I say this, but for every war supporter, there are as many war detractors. How else can you explain a song composed and sung during World War I entitled Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition? Put yourselves in the shoes of the colonialists before 1776. How many people there did not support the Revolutionary War? What were these people called by the British? Loyalists. What were these same people called by the Revolutionaries? TORIES! How many people supported the Civil War? Have you ever listened to The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down? It says "I don't mind them chopping wood, and I don't care if the money's no good. Just take what they and leave the rest, but they should never have taken the very best." I realize that this song was written over 100 years after the Civil War, but it shows that even some of the citizens of the Confederate States of America did not like the war.
No one likes war. I would have preferred that both sides would have met at the bargining table. The only problem is that you must understand your enemy. If he can be reasoned with, then to go to war is not necessary; but if the only reasoning mechanism your enemy understands is the open end of a loaded AK-47, then to war you go until you defeat your enemy!
Could you have reasoned with Hirohito or Hitler or Mussolini? No! Even Hitler went back on his word to Josef Stalin and invaded the Soviet Union. That's when the Soviet Union decided to join the Allied forces against Hitler. We fought the war in both theatres until they were destroyed.
That is what we must do. We declare the mission a success when victory is declared - and not before then!
Pull the plug on this war, and you embolden the Muslims and allow them to come invade this country. September 11, 2001 will look like a cakewalk in comparison to what the Muslims will do when they come over to invade our borders. It will be easier for them to do this when we open the borders to the South, for that's where our enemies are coming through.
Support the Troops, Support the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Support the Commander-in-Chief! To support one is to support all. Not to support one is to support none; for if the CIC falls, the Wars and the Troops fall.
O Beautiful for Heroes proved In liberating strife Who more self their Country loved And mercy more than life!
America, America May God thy Gold refine; Till all success be nobleness And every gain Divine!
As we look upon these words, let us always remember the words of Thomas Jefferson who said "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants," thus proclaiming that Freedom isn't free.
Let us never forget that the price for our freedom is the blood shed upon the battlefields of those who would try to destroy us in our land - symbolized by the red stripes on our flag.
The day that we forget this and do not fully understand this is when the Great Experiment will fall into the hands of our enemies who wish us dead
