Nearly 400,000 e-mails get Congress moving McCain, members of Congress call for oil drilling June 19, 2008 Dear Kinman, After 10 years of doing nothing, Congress is finally beginning to act on demands that we use our natural resources to help America become energy self-sufficient. I sent Pelosi one, I told her here gas was yesterday $4.43 a gallon, and shows every sign of being $5 a gallon if not by July 4th, then for sure by mid-August, and probably close if not over $6 a gallon by ELECTION DAY!

And, if she did not think that at $6 a gallon, the voters would vote with their pocketbooks heading into winter, she was CRAZY!!  And, if I was a Repub, I would be calling press conference after press conference on a daily basis screaming that the Dems are obstructing "energy independance" by not allowing drilling, new nuke plants etc.

It is up the "leona Helmsley" of the House to see if she is smart enough to see the handwriting on the wall...

From what I understand, the Dems (including Obama) idea is to force us into cutting back our oil usage in order to "save" the world from pollution etc...yea, like the REST of the world is not going to pollute like crazy!!  All I can say is if that is their idea, good bye Dems, plus, I will cut completely back when I see that rich, self absorbed Pelosi BIKING her way back to her Calif home!!!  Funny how the elected people of the house/senate think we, the "little people" as Helmsley used to call her abused workers, should be forced to conserve, not drive, not fly etc, while THEY get to still fly here and there and have no caps on THEIR usage!

I usually only watch Lou Dobbs....but I am on vacation and watched Fox and Friends this a.m...  Did anyone see the report that contrary to the left...the results of drilling off shore U S  could be recognized in as little as two years and if platforms out and mounted...in as little as one year.  This would also stop the futures traders which has  a factored in increase per barrel of as much as $60.00.

Have conservatives finally found an issue which we can rally behind??

Conservatives running for election need to dig up that clip of Hillary Clinton in the summer of '06 saying "If you want lower gas prices, you must elect a democrat congress in November"  Maybe even use a Howdy Doody Bobble Head doll.  You know how she smiles real big and widens her eyes and nods her head every time someone cheers.

Neither political party can ignore the will of the voters much longer.

With an election coming up and BOTH parties having screwed the people for years, they realize they may be facing millions of citizens marching on Washington with pitch forks and torches.

They MUST allow any and all forms of energy development before the economy totally collapses!

I thought that McCain had finally said something that I could agree with, when he came out for off shore drilling for oil. Then today he comes out and says that he is the biggest supporter of NAFTA and free trade there is. Does this mean that now we drill for oil and then we turn around and send cheap oil to Mexico and other NAFTA free trade partners in exchange for cheap labor, contaminated cheap products, the NAFTA Corridor and drugs?

We need to push the Senate and the House of Representatives to put language in any bill allowing drilling in oil formations within the continental United States to include provisions for keeping the oil and refineries under the control of the United States and not international big oil. I can just see them drolling and slobbering over visions of the money flowing into the pockets of international big oil, big banks, and rich and powerful special interests. They will have this sold out so fast we won't even have a chance to stop it. We have to keep the groups that have been selling out the infrastructure of this country to every other national interest out of this.

McCain made his biggest free traitor (trader) statement in Canada. Pandering is running amok in his campaign and BHMO as well. We need to drill and like northerner said, keep the resource at home.

Sounds great lol--alas, our represented gov't would never do that, remember, for some reason, this country thrives on guilt--guilt for being free, guilt for being a rich nation, guilt for slavery, guilt for indians, guilt for hawai'ians, guilt for mexicans, NO GUILT for regular Americans!

So, our gov't would rather GIVE our grain to the SUPER rich saudi's for free out of some sort of guilt, which would cause a huge shortage here, and all of OUR prices would go up in return due to the shortage---but our gov't would not care or feel guilt that our cereal or bread or beef tripled in price and the hardship it would cause average Americans.

I went to the store yesterday, got my usual $1.19 loaf of wheat bread, except yesterday, it was $1.99!!  Now what percentage increase is THAT???

I saw a few minutes of that, normally I NEVER watch FOX news, but was bored and flipping channels, stopped on morning joe and just about puked over that stupid meeka brezinski whining and throwing herself at every man around her, so flipped it to fox to see what was going on and caught a few minutes of that---interesting, well, I never have seen why it should take 10 plus years to get it to market...maybe it is building the platforms etc that takes so long.
