Yesterday, our most recent legal appeal to block the California
marriage ruling was formally rejected by the California courts.

As a result, shortly after 5pm, the first homosexual weddings
were made official by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Thousands more will likely take place today.

News reports indicate that homosexuals and lesbians will
flock to California to get married and force this issue
on their home states.

          This is the most serious
legal and political attack on marriage that has ever been
visited upon the United States. I believe the survival of our
society is clearly at risk. The next few months will
determine whether traditional, godly marriage survives or is
permanently perverted by radical homosexual activists.

I have instructed my legal team to dedicate every possible
resource to fighting this battle. We can still stop this
legal assault, but it will require an effort unlike any that
you and I have ever mounted in the courts, in the legislature
and in the court of public opinion.

+ + $30,000 Matching Fund to Save Marriage

That is why I am formally announcing today the establishment of
a "$30,000 Save Marriage Matching Fund."

Some key friends of Liberty Counsel have pledged to establish
this fund, which consists of pledges that will be released by
corresponding gifts to help Liberty Counsel defend marriage
and continue other vital efforts

Every dollar you donate to the "$30,000 Save Marriage
Matching Fund" will be doubled until we reach the goal.

Kinman, this matching fund has come at just
the right time.  Will you prayerfully consider making
your best gift possible right now? Please go here:

http://www.libertyaction.org/r.asp?U=8255&CID=290&RID=14682160

+ + $30 has the impact of $60; $50 is doubled to $100

In addition to your gift being tax-deductible, this special $30,000
fund will, in effect, double the impact of your gift. That means a
$30 gift will release another $30 from the fund for a total impact
of $60. If you can donate $50, your financial impact will be $100,
and so on.

+ + We can win if we fight... now!

I believe we have reached a crucial moment in the history of our
Nation. This outrageous California court decision is either going
to awaken a sleeping giant of pro-family citizens or it will mark
the beginning of the end of our civilization.

I am earnestly hoping... praying... that this news will cause
tens of thousands of citizens to take a stand.

Please let me know how the Lord is leading you. And thank you
so much for your prayers and gifts to defeat our adversaries
and defend the God-ordained  institution of marriage from these
profane attacks.

Sorry, this is so far down on the "who cares?" list after gas prices, oil prices, food prices, electricity prices, goods and services prices, illegal alien problems, taxes, health care problems, and on and on and on...I can't get worked up at who wants to marry whom.  Good for them!!  The only gay "couple" I know has been together for 17 years, more than most first AND second marriages of hetros combined....I can't believe that marriage is sacred when over 50% of the marriages in this country end in divorce!

If you have to hyphenate your race--you are NOT an American!! This from a French-German-English-Irish-AMERICAN! See how silly this can become?

What a disgusting day for America. I'm actually not surprised that a Liberal state would do this. We must nullify these abhorrant marriages immediately. Gays and Lesbians have NO right to do this. Will it come to a public vote for the most Liberal state in the union. Probably. Will the admendment pass? Hopeful, but not if the major cities can help it since they are the most Liberal.

I think Sodom and Gormorrah care if they know what is going to happen to them, and I don't want to be the next one.

Ignoring God's command and insist walk to road of sin has a price.

Something being so down on the "who cares" list is why we keep having these huge problems.  Gay marriage will ultimately cost everybody in numerous ways.  Social security, health care, etc....Every little erosion of basic American ways costs in the huge long run.  Think of the "born on American soil" for citizenship...this marriage stuff will years later add untold burdens such as this citizenship of illegals.  Think about the long run, not just about today.

I'm with veebee and Ohio.  I don't for one second condone gay marriage, but we really have far more important issues to deal with.  If they want to have a farce of a marriage, pffffffft.

Ohio.....real men??  Nope...not in this case.  REAL men aren't marrying other men, real or fake!  LOL

I have just one question after this latest act of depravity...who in the world would want to live in California these days?  Illegal aliens, married gays, mental midgit movie stars who wish they were intelligent about politics, a moron governor, a corrupt MeCha mayor in L.A., socialist congress people...you couldn't pay me enough money.

A state that used to be America's dream state has turned into a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah - complete with this latest addition of moral iniquity.

No. According to news reports, they've together since 1953. Love and commitment is the definition of marriage so what's the big deal?

They were the first lesbian couple to get married when the bill was passed in CA.

Have to agree with you Deerhunter --- that picture grossed me out!

And "who cares?" --- just one more nail in TRADITIONAL AMERICAN VALUES, so I think we SHOULD care. Whether or not hetero marriages end in divorce is really irrelevant --- this is an assault upon MARRIAGE IN THE CHRISTIAN, TRADITIONAL sense, and another porthole into destruction of America. (the 50% has been touted for years by the most liberal groups who strive to undermine traditional principles, but is not factually that high)

If, by your view, VeeBee, gay marriage is unimportant in relation to fuel, food, power sources, illegal aliens, health care, etc. then is perversion of other kinds unimportant as well? Pedophiles want to get at your kids or the neighbors' kids - shouldn't THEY also be granted their wish, since it's apparently not of concern as are the aforementioned issues. Or perhaps we should allow those beastiality proponents their wishes, or maybe even the occasional rapist or murderers can be given the green light too. Guess there really is no boundary for us to enforce afterall, is there? These other "groups" want their desires fulfilled just as much as the gay "rights" agenda, so why shouldn't they be allowed theirs as well? If fuel, food, services, health care, illegal aliens costs outweigh the gay "rights" agenda, then the rest will SURELY follow and be in line for THEIR "rights" to pursue their brand of happiness too.

Call me silly, but I'd say there ARE boundaries and laws to protect and further the traditional future of our country, so there must be limits placed that protect the traditional family through marriage of ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN, not two men or two woman, or any combination thereof (polygomy, for example).

Without boundaries, there is anarchy and full-fledged perversion.  Rhonda

Here you go, DisVet.  Your definition of marriage, not mine.

Hey it's not my definition its just the one most closely associated with marriage. Hey, if gay people want want to have a 50% divorce rate and be miserable like a lot of straight couples more power to 'em. The novelty will wear off eventually.

Nawww, not them.  I LOVE my geri patients and I can just imagine working with those too.  I'll bet they're a hoot.  I think it's rather sweet for them.  And it's not like they're going to be having children and influencing their lifestyle in any way with tales of Johnny and his two mommies.  They sort of remind me of the movie "On Golden Pond" when they talked about "those two old lesbians".
