Did anyone see the interview today beneath the airplanes by NBC with John McCain and Joe Lieberman at his side. Could the now independent Lieberman be the renegade's running mate?

It doesn't matter, does it? McCain and Obama are both failures in every aspect. I'm just going to write-in "Daffy Duck" in November.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat. I'm not a paleo-conservative, I'm not a neo-conservative, I'm not a classical liberal, and I'm not a neo-liberal. I'm not a statist, anarchist, populist, centrist, or moderate. I am an American of the United States. If you have a problem with that, good.

Yes, we noticed that too John and we'll be voting for Baldwin if he's on the ballot.  If not, we'll vote for Barr.  We need someone who will take a stand against illegal immigration and preserve our constitution.

I HAVEN'T WATCHED "MEET THE DEPRESSED" for years, because it was mostly lib/left wing crap disguised as reporting. Russert liked to portray himself as a tough guy, and sometimes he seemed to be, I guess, but he was a lib Dumocan at heart. He was spoken well of by La Raza McCain and the Marxist toad. With "friends" like that, who needs enemies?

Well said.  I can't wait until he's dead and buried so they can they stop talking about him.  To hear them carry on, you'd think a president or king had died.  How do you spell idolatry?

My sentiments exactly! It is interesting how these two "centrist" renegades seem to be close personally. If they are so correct, why don't they form the basis of a new party. Hey, why not the McCain- Lieberman Party, wouldn't that sound fine to the uninformed and ill informed masses. That, by the way, is what we have already, except that it goes in the guise of the two major parties.

We occasionally get a peek behind the curtain to see reality. I am not so sure that McCain was expecting to be interviewed then and there with Lieberman by his side. And if he was, what kind of message was he sending? It was as if he was saying not to listen to his words that he is a conservative, but watch my actions in the middle. I have long since given up any illusion that he is conservative. I believe that he represents big money interests and not the interests of the vast majority of Americans.

And Obama does not represent our interests as Americans either. The elite picked him up long ago as his long membership in the CFR aptly demonstrates. Or is the CFR really just a debating club/ think tank that just doesn't allow people to talk about most of what is said and done there when they get together.

I really thought that Mccains remarks on Tim Russert were more Heart felt and Obama's was kind of cold.

I did not see it, but I have thought for a long time that McCain would pick Lieberman for a vp.  Not only because they think so much alike, but because Lieberman will bring along the Jewish vote.

Nice, very nice.  He was someone's father, and many people's friend.  We all should have a few days of remembrance when we go, and that is far from idolatry.  More like respect and mutual admiration.

I don't think it was necessary for all of the news programs to devote so much time to his passing.  By Sunday afternoon I was calling it the Tim Russert Rodeo.

WELL, GERALD 47: Many people are someone's father and friend, and those who choose to do so can give Russert "respect and mutual admiration". I choose not to do so. The "court jester" is dead--long live the new one.

You guys watch too much TV!

Wink

Is the republican party going to allow McCain to select lifelong democrat Lieberman as VP?  If so, regardless of what McCain wants, that tells you all you need to know about the republican party.  Ultimately, the party selects its candidates, although they seem to have forgotten, and that goes for both major parties.

Glad to be back in the USA, warts and all!  God bless America!

HEY ALL: Re. The Republicrat Party: NOTHING would surprise me--when you have a luke warm "R" pretending to be a "conservative" about to be the standard bearer for the neo-con globalist wing of the single "bird of prey" party, then why not an "independent" as VP??? Birds of a feather still flock together, as far as I can see. And most of those birds belong to the same flock: VULTURES!!

Oh, it's not over yet.   They're planning a huge memorial service for him in Washington.   Sorry, but I plan to sit this dog-and-pony show out.

Is Tim Russert the First Victim of the Clinton's "Enemies List"?

"Meet the Press" Anchor Might Have Fallen Victim to Hillary's (Un)Sympathetic Magick

By Mummingbirds, published Jun 13, 2008

"I don't make the news, I just report it."
-- Jean Shepherd (1921-1999)

The Internet rumor mill is in full swing as regards the shocking and unexpected death of TV news heavyweight Tim Russert, who died at NBC's New York studio on Friday, June 12, 2008. The 58-year-old Russert, the anchor of NBC's Meet the Press for the past 17 years, allegedly died from a massive heart attack. He had recently returned to New York City from a continental sojourn in Italy, where he, his wife and his son were celebrating the lad's graduation from Boston College.

NBC Nightly News reported that the Irish-Catholic Tim Russert had had an audience with the Pope while in Rome. As of 7:00 PM Eastern time, Russert had been eulogized by fellow Irish-Americans Ted Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Ted's late brother Bobby, and the President of the United States, George W. Bush, who had ordered that the flags in Washington be flown at half-mast overnight in tribute to Russert.

There was no eulogy from Hillary Rodham Clinton, or her husband, former President ..

That's what continues to make America what it is.  There are many channels on your cable that you can easily surf too and avoid Tim's wake.  So go for it.  Disrespect for someone that is gone is IMO, NOT COOL, and somewhat cowardly.

I wish they had a channel devoted to our service members KIA, and the Greatest Generation when they pass.  Those heros are never mentioned.

FYI, I about wore out my remote changing channels Saturday and Sunday.  Aftering hearing he had passed.  I actually spent most of the weekend watching Animal Planet and Nat.Geo.   Guess that is how I missed the interview with McCain for a reaction to Russert passing.
