Jerry Dean's post on Republican Bloodbath inspired this thread. Though Jerry makes a case for McCain this election is bigger than one person. Congress holds as much power as the President. Therefore we should not put all our eggs into one basket and focus only on one office. Jerry makes an excellent case in this regards, too.
Take note near the end he refers to "Republican Activist Members" or "RAM". My intent, and safe to say others posted on the RB thread, is to put Jerry's words into action. Here we can plan it out.
Here are the words of one Jerry Dean posted on the Republican Bloodbath thread...a bunch of us have already been blessed by them...
What we have on this thread is a small group of people, many of whom are in basic agreement about what is problematic about the coming Presidential election. We know the Republican candidate is not a Conservative, and is weak on many issues dear to us.We also know that the Democrat candidate is a Liberal Socialist with designs on the country. His programs, if implemented, will be politically, economically, socially and militarily disastrous. Thus to quote an old song: “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.”I guess our sweet heart will have to be Mc Cain, like it or not.
It also seems that a consensus exists that the Republicans will suffer losses in both the Senate and the Congress. The exact number of seats that will change hands is at this time unknown, but even 4 or 5 is a problem regardless of who wins the Presidency.A blood bath?Maybe. Can anything be done about it?Yes, but what?A bit more on that later.
On this thread, I commented on the lack of hope, and on the seeming willingness to give up because things look so bleak. They are bleak, but remember “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”.This is a time when Abbey’s comment about patriots is very appropriate. It is also a time when Winston Churchill’s comment about giving up is as appropriate now as it was when London was burning. (“Never, Never, Never give up”)
How do we go about opposing Obama‘s messianic freight train? How do we get our message to the politicians who could care less what we think or want?It can be done if a strategic and tactical plan is developed to attack the candidates where they need to be attacked. This plan needs to be a combination of intellectual anarchy, education, activism and constancy. We must have a plan that attacks the Democrats, their programs and their candidate. Their candidate is a Socialist with Marxist leanings, and is supported by Socialists like G. Soros. Interestingly, Obama is preferred by 52% of member countries of the European Union – mostly Socialist countries. We need to beat on that drum constantly. That plan is ready made for us as the Democrats have given us the ammunition. This is in addition to the fact that Obama is a candidate who says nothing better than anyone.A few of Obama’ s ideas – in a simplistic listing below:
INCREASED TAXES:This will surely hurt the economy, and push America even further into debt. Higher taxes equal less government revenue. Obama has voted for tax increases every time increased taxes were on the agenda, including taxes on oil, natural gas and coal.My conclusion is that Mr. Obama, as well as his advisors, may simply be economic morons. It is not difficult to prove that increased taxes will hurt the middle class as well as the wealthy.
EXPANDED HEALTH CARE: Obama’ s program of nationalizing health care will further exacerbate a health care industry that is already hobbled by government regulation, high costs and inefficiency. (I spent 30 years in the health care industry.)
ENERGY DEPENDENCE: All of Obama’s ideas add nothing to making American energy independent. He will not add a single drop of oil to our supply, nor will he do anything to reduce prices at the pump.He will enrich people who sell alternative energy, at the expense of companies who really could make us a power house (no pun intended) in the energy sector. Democratic staffers from the House Committee on Natural Resources have recently stated, “The nation cannot simply drill its way to lower prices at the pump”.Silly as that may sound, it offers a window into the thinking on the other side. How can we lose this one when we can easily disclose that we have 160,000,000,000 barrels of oil and 34-35 trillions of cubic feel to natural gas - 100-150 years of oil in our known reserves.Simultaneously we can develop other sources of energy without going broke driving to the grocery store.
IRAQ:This really needs little said.Obama wants to retreat, then declare victory while insuring defeat.
RACE RELATIONS: This will be a disaster.Obama is a racist as is his wife, his pastors, and his colleagues. We need to tell the world we could vote for a black President, but not this one. I believe that his Presidency, if he is elected will foul the waters for any black candidate for years to come.Pat Buchanan says it best here:
You may now be saying so?Where are your great ideas? How will you do things? Here are a few things to consider.
We must take pages from the Liberal’s playbook, and become activists. Republicans and Conservatives often take the high road, and stay above the fray. The Democrat Liberals have taken a page from Dr. Goebbel’s book. “If you tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth”.This same type of Nazi-like propaganda is used daily by the Democrats. We need to use the truth to awaken people, but do this with the same passion the Liberals use lies. All of you know that the Democrats repeat, and repeat and repeat the same lies, and soon they are taken as the truth.Douglas Feith in his book “War and Decision” offers a perfect example of this as he describes how the mantra “Bush lied, people died” came to be seen as the reality for many, in spite of the facts that successfully refute this.
Another example of Liberal activism recently exposed is the fact that environments lackeys of the Democrats are currently protesting drilling permits being issued on Federal lands. These actions are preparatory to law suits in efforts to stop drilling. Why don’t we protest the same Federal agencies for NOT issuing permits? We have as much right to oil and gas products as the Libs have protestation rights. We can frame this in a number of ways: Energy independence, environmental over-reaching, and perhaps most important, the efforts of liberal anarchists to diminish America as a force in the energy world.
How can we overcome the angst felt by many on this group? In some ways we need to adopt not only the tactics of the left, but also the practices of missionaries – one convert at a time. Some efforts in this regard are already in process.Grassfire constantly sends emails, faxes and snail mail to all the congress. That’s great, but it’s not enough. We need millions of people involved, and that is no easy task. Channeling through Rush and Sean as well as any other Conservative talk show is an option. We need to get their attention, and talk about this energetic Fire Society (FS) group of 30,000+ people who have declared war on the Democratic establishment, and want re-enforcements.
How about using the 30,000+ members of the Fire Society (FS) like a large corporation? What if all of the FS were organized into Divisions, whereby each Division had specific objectives. For example, one Division could be Energy Independence.Within that there would be Departments each of which addressed a different target group, i.e. the Congress, the Senate, the Candidates, the public, the press, the oil companies, Global Warming Myths, etc.Divide up the responsibility so no one person has too much to do at any given time. This would allow those with limited time to be responsible for a very small piece of the action, but an integral part of the team. Each Division would be responsible for developing tactics to use when it became necessary to up the ante if responses from targets are not forthcoming. This will not be easy.I called Mc Cain’s office 4 times today. I never spoke with a human who knew anything. In fact I spoke to only one human. She worked in the Senators office, and was unable to discuss campaign matters, due to some unstated law. I finally left Mc Cain a message reminding him that he is 15 points down relative to Obama, vis-à-vis energy policy. It’s the fourth quarter, and he is sleeping on this one.
Republican Activist Members (RAMs?) who were so inclined could organize statewide and national opposition days. For instance, one idea I read about was a million gallon march on Washington, DC, and in state capitols. A major protest of this type by Conservative Republicans would be news! What about organizing independent truckers to take a day off because it costs too much in diesel fuel to drive every day?
I could go on, but this note would be even longer.Besides I am sure I am preaching to the choir.
I say I have been sold out and lied to far to long by BOTH politicial parties. They had their chance with me...I voting for a
3rd party candidate !
GOOD CHOICE, RKY MTN........ME, TOO!
We've basically left the Republicrat party......I refuse to donate to anyone/anything with that dreaded "R" name!
I have the Lord to answer to, some day, and I don't want to die knowing I voted for McCain the Traitor. Let's get on with telling the Establishment we conservatives stand our ground and will not accept their sorry excuses for why they have drifted so far from the GOP platform which used to stand for lower taxes, individual freedoms, LIMITED GOVERNMENT, TRADITIONAL VALUES, and MINDING OUR OWN BUSINESS IN FOREIGN POLICY!

They drifted because few would get involved and hold them accountable.
The same thing will happen to any third party candidate. You will keep on watching your American Idol and then just whack them when you don't like what they are doing.
On top of that there won't be any third party because there are not enough candidates across the country. It is not enough to have only one office third party.
We can't get enough candidates to run in all the elections for years let alone sift out all their qualifications. Where is a third party going to get them from? Are you gonna do it? How many more like you will?
Greg: I understand your position - I've read it many times on many different threads, but with all due respect, you are the one who needs to "get real." I for one, am no longer going to play this little game. The Republicans are "kapoot". With all the betrayal that has happened with our Constitution (under a Republican president issuing executive directives and orders), the only thing that will save this country now is a return to the spirit and intent of the Declaration of Independence. Are you so blind you cannot see the freedoms that have been stripped from you?
We may lose with a third party candidate, but McCain is no less a socialist than Obama. READ HIS RECORD!
Let's go, all you who still love America and want to vote admirably and honorably with the CONSTITUTION PARTY!
During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. ~ George Orwell
In yesterdays paper there was an Associated Press story by Julie Hirschfeld Davis titled, "Both Parties Duck Issue."
Both John McCain and Barack Obama support giving legal status to millions of Illegal Immigrants, a position that strategists see as crucial to winning over Hispanics. Both party candidates are also wary of alienating white conservatives and blacks who oppose granting legal status or benefits to people who broke the law to come to the U.S. Presidential candidates will avoid the issue and when they can not avoid it will straddle the issue.
As RAM's how can we counter with this issue? If national health or social medicine is given to the millions of illegals we are doomed. That in tandem to the war in Iraq, environmental issues over drilling for oil and a myriad of other this and that is compelling.
When left with McCain and his ideas on the war in Iraq I thought I would vote for him reluctantly but when he brought the Hispandering into his campaign that was the straw that broke the camels back. If we continue to elect the same people into office all they will do is say that we approved of their platform and thereafter declare, "I am the decider."
If you boil all this down we can come up with a choice. Would you choose the needle, electric chair, hanging, or firing squad?
What we are heading for with the gracious help of the third party fanatics is a one party dictatorship.
It will be guaranteed by an immediate granting of legal status to anyone who even stands on our soil. This voting bloc will never let any other party in.
I'm sure the Republicans promoting amnesty figured their only hope was to grant something before November so Democrats would not take all the credit and at least salvage some votes. A moot point.
Amnesty is off the table. The Declaration of Independence is about to be shredded by liberals. They have no intentions of ever letting anyone resurrect it. Either we "dance with the one we are with" or we never dance again.
If you don't want to support McCain there are still a plethora of candidates who need your help. This is ultimately not about McCain. It is stopping the overthrow of freedom.
I am beginning to see why voting for a candidate that you know will not get in, would be detramental, and the comment made that you will be voting for Barak obama and not even know it...makes sence. If we know that the canidate you want in will not get in...your vote may as well be for Barak. Unless you vote for Mccain, Barak will be our President. I want neither , either, but a candidate that we know won't make it in, is a waste of our vote, and Obama will be the winner. I have always intended on voting for ron Paul or writing in a name until I studied how that would effect us.
There is no way Mccain will get the presidency, and that leaves Obama Bin Laden. What we need to do is make sure HE doesn't get in. To do that, we have to make sure our votes count in a big way. I sure don't want Mccain to be Pres. , But he's not a muslim. He could be the lesser of two evils. At least Mccain is Patriotic. He doesn't "hate whitey". I have never cared for him (or any other frontrunners, for that matter) but we are going to have to vote "strategically" this time. Just to keep the worst one out! How pathetic is this????
I may change my mind later. I just don't want a Muslim running our country!

Sorry, not to me. In this case compromise = breaking faith with my value system and all I hold dear, namely living in a free society!

The ideas sound great, and it is well written, yet it does not change the candidate in the least. He is the big problem now, We can deal with the GOP later.

Living in a free society?
Your pride and arrogance that you "will only hold to the highest standards" will guarantee your children they will never even know what a free society is.
This is a totally different set of circumstances voting this time. #1..I feel it will be the last time anyone will be able to vote with the candidates we have to choose from. We all know they are both socialists and both have a detramental agenda for us.
#2 I do not feel as I am "compromising" my freedoms. What freedoms? We need to take our country back...which means it has been taken away from us.
#3 I also hold my value system very dear..thats why we need to be strategic in our votes. It's not an election like any other! No good candidates. No candidate you write in or vote for thats NOT Mccain or Obama....Obama will get the election, because most people have not , or barely heard of Ron Paul and others. They will be voting for either BHO or Mcain. Thats the way they want it! If you do not vote for one or the other, you may as well throw away your vote. I, up until a week ago, was going to vote for Ron paul. But to think how few even know about him, knowing he cannot possibly win...we have to make this vote DO someting. And to me, that is to keep a lying, muslimwho hates whitey and is going to "change the world" (for the betterment of HIS people) I say the lesser of two evils is Mccain.
#4 I beleive there is a huge possibility that Barak Hussein Obama (barry) is the anti-christ. So, if we all vote for Mccain and BHO still gets it...we will know then who this half and half is, although he only calls himself black. Hey! How is he making history being the first "black" candidate, when he is also WHITE????? They should be saying the first half black, half white man is making history!
#5 Sometimes we have to compromise our standards enough to do what is right and what will help our people. This is serious business and calls for everyone to compromise at some point. I am compromising by voting the way I am. But feel as I need to in order to help keep this "hater" from running MY country! I would give anything if Ron paul were to get the votes...but it is nearly impossible. We have the media to thank for that too. It's getting close to the wire. We MUST know what we are going to do and feel like it is the best for all of us.

Your pride and arrogance that you "will only hold to the highest standards" will guarantee your children they will never even know what a free society is.
I'LL POST THIS ONLY ONE MORE TIME. Take a very careful look at the recent legislation that has been signed into law by Bush; namely the NDAA and the MCA along with his presidential directive NSPD 51. Again, please look at the analysis of these bills as they pertain to the direct violation of our Constitution.
THEN finally, the light will dawn and you will see we are fooling ourselves at this very moment for we are only living in the ILLUSION of the freedom that was once guaranteed to us. Everything is already in place for them to completely crush us; just because they have not acted yet, does not mean they cannot or will not do so. Your loyalty to the Republican party is misplaced, especially in view of the fact that they have not given us a morally conscious conservative to vote for.
My vote will represent, not the betrayal of what I once stood for, but the ideal that the Founding Fathers indeed, had it right, that they wrote the rule of the land based upon their Christian beliefs and the knowledge that God alone gives us certain inalienable rights, NOT GOVERNMENT! My vote will represent that I still believe in what this country once stood for and my HOPE that we can return to that ideology.
My pride and arrogance, Greg? How about, for once, standing tall and not folding in the face of opposition when WE KNOW that McCain is no where close to the base that we used to hold so dear! I'm afraid, you, my friend, are the one confused!

Well said.
I am an American, not a Republican. America first, not second.
