From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, President, Grassfire.org Alliance

The Senate needs to hear from you regarding
the $1.2 trillion Carbon Tax. Please see below.

The U.S. Senate is considering voting on a massive $1.2 trillion
Carbon tax that they believe would help "save the planet" from
man-made global warming.

Passage of this tax would have a devastating impact on our economy--
sharply raising the price of gas (by as much as $1.40 per gallon),
raise taxes and demand emissions reductions that can't be realized.

But even as the bill is being debated, there are growing
concerns in the Senate about the timing of the bill and
citizen response.

Senate Environmental and Public Works Chairman Barbara
Boxer when asked what she was doing to calm the growing
concerns of her colleagues, replied, "My concern is just
getting the bill out there. We’ve done that. From here on out,
it’s up to each Senator to decide."

There you have it. Barbara Boxer is leaving it up
to the Senators to decide--which means you and I have a short window
of opportunity to impress upon members of the Senate that the Carbon
Tax (S. 3036) is a frighteningly bad idea!

++ Time for Grassroots to Cool the Global Warming Debate

Over the next several days I want to inundate EVERY Senate office with
faxes demanding a "NO" vote for the Lieberman-Warner Carbon Tax (S.
3036).

Go here to schedule personalized faxes to key members of
the Senate, including your two New York Senators:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=7928...
If you prefer to send your own faxes, we have provided all the contact
information for you at the above website.

Either way, please take action. These are very serious times that
demand our full efforts. I look forward to your quick response.

++ Timing is EVERYTHING

To be clear, our Capitol contacts have told us Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid is planning on keeping the Lieberman-Warner bill on the
Senate floor at least until sometime next week.

We need to use this time to make a clear and profound impression on
EACH and EVERY Senator by swamping them with faxes demanding a "NO"
vote on the Carbon Tax Bill.

Your quick support right now is both necessary and appreciated!

I'm new so be kind!  My first input to Grassfire and you all is to finance and create TV spots to counter the stupid Pat Bucannon/Al Sharpton pieces being run daily.  The premise that we (human beings and our evil ways) are in control of our planet's climate is clearly being articulated, inaccurate as it may be.  What I want to see is a series of spots that demonstrate to average ignorant people that the premise is wrong!!  The debate is not over!  Let's clearly illustrate that underneath the ice in Greenland, there was once serious farming taking place.  Let's show that caves in Switzerland, which were exposed after some glaciers receded, had in them implements/tools used for silver mining.  Let's point out that huge oil fields in the vicinity of the Arctic Circle were once dense jungles!  We could go on and on.  The other side is making it look like the debate is over.  No way!

Thanks!  I will share with many people and have read/seen other good stuff like this.  What I want to see is a series of short TV clips that get this message across in 30 and 60 second prime time spots like the other side is doing.
