We're on our way to becoming overpopulated. Look out infrastructure, environment, energy recources etc!! Alert! Ad Claims Ever-Increasing Traffic Caused by Ever-Increasing Population Defeats Efforts to Conserve Fuel, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Capacity SANTA BARBARA - Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) and its partners in America's Leadership Team for Long Range Population-Immigration-Resource Planning unveiled an ad campaign this week to raise America's awareness of the effects of population growth. The ads will appear in major national publications. "If population growth continues at its present pace, our faltering quality of life will continue to erode. Americans won't be able to conserve their way out of the emerging overpopulation crisis," said Diana Hull, the organization's President. "Population growth is decimating the gains that the United States has made in energy conservation and environmental protection. In major metropolitan areas, traffic has descended into perpetual gridlock, and overcrowding strains public schools, hospitals and social services. Water shortages and severe drought imperil tens of millions of Americans. Despite the staggering consequences that Americans endure from rapidly increasing population; cars jamming our roads, out-of-control building and sprawl and vanishing resources, our elected officials continue to fail to make the obvious connections and then act, Hull continued." The United States now has a population of more than 300 million people, a number that is projected to jump by another 100 million in 30 years. If nothing is done to halt this increase, the U.S. will face a population of 600 million people by the end of this century. More than 80% of population growth, nationally, will continue to be a direct result of immigration and immigrant births. In California that increase accounts for virtually 100 percent of that growth. This national ad campaign is the first salvo in a long-term campaign by CAPS and its partners to raise public awareness of the magnitude of growth-inducing problems and their source, to ensure that elected officials and candidates for public office will no longer be able to ignore this most important issue of our time. Another reason to STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!!!

Nancy, I truly believe that 100 million will not touch it. If we don't get our borders under controll we will empty Latin America. When our resources run out, it will stop, but only when it is as bad here, as it is there.

We've been overpopulated from an ecological long term standpoint at a European, lower standard of living, since the early 1920s.  The Immigration Quota Act of 1924 was a wise, far seeing and noble for US nationalism piece of legislation.  It was ruined by Ted kennedy and LBJ's Immigration Reform Act of 1965, and most of the un-necessary growth has been since then by third world and illegal over breeding low IQ immigrants.  They had taken SS individual accounts and put them in the General Fund, too.

The reality is that with an amnesty and nop moratorium on legal immigration, the population will go up even faster than 100 million in 30 years.  Major shortages from their added demands will destroy our economy, and in fact already are.  Before 2040, our biggest aquifer and others will be dry of pure fresh water and in a short period.  If we aren't already in a bloody revolution we will be when we fight for water to survive.  Even the soil will be mostly gone, let alone oil.   Most likely with all the pollution, and depletion, there will be a rapid die-off of humans and many other species.  It won't start here, but will be a cascading worldwide phenominon.  It is already showing itself with the migrations of the over-breeders, and economic recessions they engender well before the ecological collapses.
