ABC reporter Jack Tapper, who follows politicians around for a living, has dubbed Barack Obama a "one-man gaffe machine."
In Brent's latest column, he examines Obama's Quayle-isms--Obama saying there are 58 states in the Union; Obama repeatedly using the wrong name for the cities he campaigns in and Obama acknowledging "fallen heroes" at a Memorial Day crowd as if they were alive and standing in the audience -- and suggests a media double standard. If John McCain made such gaffes, Brent asks, wouldn't the media accuse him of having a "senior moment?" The answer: They already have.
Can we have just a little balance, here?
As Brent astutely points out, the same media that turned Dan Quayle's name into a punch-line is the media that is propping up Obama as Captain Competent.
