Am I the only one (besides John) who watched this?  Good gosh they had some real goofballs IMO!  Many of the states were represented by speakers who could not speak even with notes, and so many were not suitably dressed -- some actually downright goofy looking and acting.  Pity -- they lost all credibility with me right off the bat!

Why would Bob Barr associate himself with that opportunity to run for President?  Only shot he had?  Pandering like all the other politicians?  He won the first round by one vote over longtime Libertarians.  Ron Paul was Libertarian, but then switched to Republican.  Bob Barr was Republican but has now "switched" to Libertarian.  Give me a break -- all they are doing is using the Libertarian Party, and the Libertarian Party evidently allows it!

One of their candidates who lost out in the first round was truly (and IMO justifiably) Pi**ed -- that so many delegates voted for Barr who in her opinion was making everyone bend the Libertarian Party ideals to fit him -- she was MAD!

Barr may be another spoiler, but so far against the Big 3 we have Baldwin, Barr, McEnulty, Oliva, Nader, etc.  The third party will not and can not win this go around -- FS members can't even come close to agreeing on a single alternative!  Many still talk about electing Ron Paul.  What a sad disaster .................. we can only hope to create gridlock -- just think -- what if the federal government was neutered for four years -- would it really be so bad?  Laughing

I am a conservative, not alLibertaian.  I just want a message sent that we are not going along with what the elites want and I want to send the message to those Republicans who want low taxes but everything else on the left is okay. Being the spoiler is the role left to us this time.

I knew you were a conservative, John.  You are so right about low taxes but everything else on the left is okay!  Sigh!  Spoiler for me is to be dang sure we get conservatives (forget party) in Congress.  I am really concerned that Obama will win, and the Democrats will landslide Congress too.  If that's the case, we better get used to socialism really fast!

There are too many Republicans who are only concerned about their pocket books and not about the direction the country is going. My point is that they should not get both. If they do not care about the moral fiber of the country, I do not want them getting their leftest agenda ala McCain's pro illegal immigrant stance. I am not going to reward a Republican Party that has gone too far left in order to keep an elite and selfish interests happy at the expense of our values and way of life. When it is too costly to keep betraying us, they will cut it out.

That is what I am concerned about too, there is going to be a landslide for democrats this time, even tho under the past 2 years, the dems have done NOTHING to get this country back on track, but with obama being so popular with new voters, people like pelosi/reid/kennedy see that he can be controlled by them and they can just go wild, I don't think they feel the same way about hillary, that she can be controlled as much as obama can be and WILL BE!

If you have to hyphenate your race--you are NOT an American!! This from a French-German-English-Irish-AMERICAN! See how silly this can become?

I would rather have the American people fighting the socialism of an Obama than the acceptance of so much nonsense under the banner of an Republican administration of John McCain. Think deeply. We will lose either way, but the lesser defeat is in my thinking the long term big defeat.
