Anyone in the Los Angeles area - here is some ACTION you can take this Tuesday.  I cannot get there from Sacto fast enough.  I don't know if you heard the story about the young man who was killed in LA by an illegal alien (and gang member) who had just been released from jail without anyone checking his immigration status, because LA has a "rule" that the police can't check immigration status.  The young man's mother is in the military and was in Iraq when her son was murdered.  The family is now fighting the council in LA - trying to get them to check immigration status of criminals and gang members.  Their website is www.jamielslaw.com If you are in the area, here is the notice (please pass it on!):

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!   LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!    LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

TO ALL CONCERNED:

According to a Lieutenant at the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, 1,000 men are being released back into our communities every day!  No one is checking the immigration status of these 1,000 men.  NOT the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department and NOT the Los Angeles Police Department.

Please join with The Shaw Family and Concerned Citizens in the Communities, at the Board of Supervisors during General Comments on, May 27, 2008 at 1:00 pm.  Let's meet together in front of The Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration Building at 12:30 pm.

Our focus will be on the 1,000 men being released into our communities each day and why the Board of Supervisors should support Jamiel's Law!

The Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration Building, 500 W. Temple Street (The Corner of Temple & Grand), Los Angeles, CA  90012.

Let Your Voice Be Heard!
