Chicago hosts 'Queer Prom' tonight

 

Conservative activists are speaking out against a so-called "Queer Prom" for Latino youth tonight in Chicago.

 

 

The event at the National Museum of Mexican Art is being billed as a dance for "LGBTQ youth" (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning), but adults are also invited. Lambda Legal, the group Latinos Progresando, and a homosexual bathhouse known as "Steamworks" are among the sponsors.
 
Mario Diaz of Concerned Women for America says Latino groups should be finding ways for Hispanics to pursue the American dream, not promoting homosexual activity.
 
"The fact that an adult homosexual bathhouse is sponsoring it – I mean, these are children still, young people; and this bathhouse ... is only available for homosexual adults ... is appalling," he exclaims. "[A]s a Hispanic and Latino young man in this country, I feel very offended by it. It goes against everything my community really stands for," Diaz contends.
 
Diaz says he has never met a Hispanic family that would want their children involved in the anonymous homosexual activity that ostensibly occurs at Steamworks. He believes homosexual adults are actively attempting to recruit Latino teens for their dangerous lifestyle.
 
"Because homosexual activists are aware that the Hispanic community is not really on board with their agenda, they have tried to do many things that are just 'under the table' type things," Diaz laments. "They try to go to legislatures of different countries and different places, and they try to do things without making a big fuss about it because they know, in the public square, they would lose their battle."
 
Peter LaBarbera with Americans for Truth About Homosexuality suggests that, by sponsoring the teen event, the homosexual bathhouse Steamworks is likely "marketing to future clients."

One more thing...I think this could be construed as a spin in the betterment of the Illegal Alien movement. I could be very wrong though. Notice.....not Latino, I said Illegal Aliens.

You are very wise photoman.....

There are still good, moral people in our country. I'm just not too keen on promoting "Queer Prom" nights. I have friends who are gay...but they do not "push" or "flaunt" their lifestyle in front of me. I loved these people as friends BEFORE I knew they were gay, so how do you stop loving someone even though their lifestyle is different from your own? The 21st century thus far has turned into "Mr Toad's Wild Ride"!  

It seems like everything in this country started to decline (with regard to morality and valuing life) during the 60's when people like Nancy Pelosi ran wild on the streets of San Francisco, dropping acid and spewing their liberal venom. That "witch" madeline murray ohair also tried to destroy us by taking religion from our schools. (My town has found a way around that law...and it is what our community WANTS...we fund it personally,so we deserve to keep it and no child is ever FORCED to attend).

Photoman...the "good" people of America will keep this country on track....we love our country too much- count on it.....there are still many of us clinging to our "guns and religion" (that's meant as a joke....)

I don't have a gun, so I'll cling to my deer hoof and my bible!

BTB I will loan you one of mine I thinks I gots enough. 25 murdered in Juarez over the last weekend and that is just the ones they found. You can kill 25 mexicans and no one will miss them.

God's word cannot be banned.  Men are so vain to even think so.

Gerald47, it cannot be banned in the sense that it can be taken out of our hearts but governments around the world have banned it's use in their countries. It only means people go underground. In a legal sense it can be banned but certainly that doesn't mean it will ever stop being propogated to the masses. There is a time and a place for civil disobedience and for many Christians around the world, that disobedience is manifested through smuggling Bibles, holding secret worship services, and doing what it takes to minister to God's people. May God bless every last one of them.

Now back to the latino "gay" community promoting this queer prom thing.....

These Latino gays came from patriarchal cultures.....I know in Cuba if they find out you are gay, you will be publicly shunned as a pariah. But why do we have to have this shoved down our throats in our own country? I understand they want to be with others like themselves.....but a little discretion please- the bulk of our society traditionally rejects same sex relationships. We don't live in ancient greece....we also see Paiderastia as pedophilia in modern times and a heinous crime.

The one friend I grew up.... he is now a prominent architect, very successful, very handsome...looks VERY heterosexual....I didn't know he was gay until we were much older.....his father rejected him for years which hurt him very deeply as his parents also were divorced. But he's a great guy, doesn't push his lifestyle on anyone...loves his country and what is left of his family. He doesn't drink or do drugs which is usually a problem in some gay communities. 

People need to remember that anything dealing with sex should remain a private matter. Whatever happened to "public decency"?! Children should not have to witness this type of event until they are old enough to understand the difference between genders and sex between and among the genders as we know it in our culture.

Nothing can explain it better than God Himself through His Word.

It's scary how public schools are full of worldly agendas.  Looking back to my high school days, I remember the homosexual agenda being promoted by the students, not so much the teachers.  The kids around me would watch stuff on tv, or hear about stuff in the news, get curious & experiment.  I can't count all the times I was on a school bus, or in between classes & saw 2 guys or 2 girls making out.  The teachers never stopped them, so I guess they encouraged it by staying silent.  I know we can't live in the past, but I wish I had been walking with the Lord then so I could have spoken truth to those who were lost.  This gay prom thingy doesn't surprise me, but it saddens me.  As my children grow, I will make it a point to teach them about what Romans 1 says, and I will also teach them,
