Just received a breaking news alert from Fox....Ted kennedy has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor...makes sense if he was having seizures.
I know he has been one of our biggest foes.....but being a Christian I'd like to offer my prayers to his family. This is not something I would wish on anyone....
We don't even get the satisfaction of voting him out of office as this will certainly end his career......
Anyways...Ted I'm sorry you are going through this......and prayers for you and your family.
Even Republicans have a heart Ted, I hope you realize that before it is too late.....we are compassionate, loving and caring too. Even in your darkest hour, we- your political rivals pray for you because you are a fellow American....not our favorite one....but an American none the less.

I agree with BTB and Jani, however what happend to the sane Americans who know what the Kennedy's are and what they have done. It seems that just because the man has a Brain tumor all of a sudden he is a saint. What? I am sorry that another human being has something like this but lets get real the Kennedy's have been put on a pedatal for 40 plus years the media invented Camolot and have shoved it on us since conception. I have not been blinded by this and I really hope that this will put an end to the reighn of the Kennedy rule over America. Term Limits People.

A liberal icon? Yes.
Nature triumphed where the people failed.
Posted in good conscience after the great thread cleansing of November 2007 AD in which we stepped in unison to declare our good works.
Pursuit of this by Kennedy's family and staff could, in terms of stated 100% cure rates, be somewhat of a disappointment to some.
We don't need new "comprehensive" immigration laws. We need widespread, well funded enforcement of existing immigration law, i. e. IRCA 1986. http://www.oig.lsc.gov/legis/irca86.htm ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST A BIG CHARADE! As usual with politics they have to start up with the "speculation" of what will happen with Ted's potential "open" seat in the Senate. I guess the media doesn't care if this man's family may be watching......they are heartless, gutless wonders. Give it a rest guys, this man is seriously ill and I'm quite sure his family members are upset and wondering what will happen next. Cancer is extremely hard on everyone involved. Radiation and Chemotherapy are "cruel" cures.....but his only hope with this type of Glioma.
I'm quite sure the Kennedys can afford any of the new cutting edge therapys....as Employers, Employers stated they can AFFORD the cure. If this is localized in the left parietal lobe, they may be able to work with it, unless "tendrils" have spread out through the brain tissue into deeper areas. Did anyone hear if it has "metastasized"?

I doubt the Kennedy family will have to fork over one dime, congress/senate voted themselves 100% medical coverage years ago, as compared to Medicare or anything they offer the public!
While I am sorry for him and his family, as I am on disability and see how illness affects you (and I don't have anywhere NEAR the medical coverage that Kennedy has, if I had his tumor, I would be dead now due to not being able to afford any "cure"), I also was kind of relieved when I heard it as I frankly think it is time for him to go, step down, if there is an extreme example of a "professional politician" it is Ted Kennedy, and the last few years IMO he has not even been rational about somethings....and this is coming from one of the few liberals on this list!
I hope he recovers, and I hope he steps down from office!
If you have to hyphenate your race--you are NOT an American!! This from a French-German-English-Irish-AMERICAN! See how silly this can become?
He should have died the day Mary Jo did. I have no sympathy for this man he will never suffer the amount of agony he has inflicted on the american people for so many years.
TEXAS: One of the few states that can secede from the Union.
Brain tumor ?? I thought maybe it was water in the lungs.
We WILL pray for him, won't we troops?
I know how you feel in that sense RockyMtn.....he is a very misguided man...and has pulled off more crap in his life and in Washington that would have ordinary people locked up for life....treasonous behavior and the negligence in Mary Jo Kopechne's death among other things.... He will face judgement some day for his actions , but it won't be from WE THE PEOPLE.
I know our Military men and women who despise Ted's "political views" as much as the rest of us at FS still rise above it all to show compassion towards another American because they serve this country with integrity, honor and dignity......even though he has been a "nightmare" for WE THE PEOPLE for years.....

One of the Fox News Contributors was singing Ted's praises. He also acknowledged Ted's 'occasional' sipping an adult beverage. Yep, occasionally.
Ted, God forgives all. It is time for you to say the Sinner's Prayer. I will ask for God to open your heart and mind to give your live to Jesus. If you ever wanted to do something worthwhile, this is it.
We will indeed put our prayers for Ted and the entire family. He may of been one of the worst senators of our time, but without a doubt this time something that even Liberals don't deserve. My cousin who lives about 45 miles north of me in Cortland,NY , has been battling with the same thing. Not pleasant stuff folks.
I do wonder though what would the world think if Bush got this same thing? I of course myself would feel bad for him, but what about Cindy Sheehan, Bin Laden, most of Europe and Hollywood feel. That would be interesting to find out.
Sean Hannity, the man who understands what America should stand for.
This story broke a few weeks ago. If there is any truth to it, and there appears to be, this is something everyone should try to follow.
A cancer researcher, John Kanzius, attempting to desalinate salt water with radio frequency energy to study the effects on cancer cells, discovered to his amazement that the salt water caught fire. Some believe that the sodium ions were excited to such a degree that they broke the bonds between the hydrogen and oxygen. This caused them to exit the fluid and catch fire, reuniting again as water when ignited. It is theoried that perhaps the sodium ions act as a sort of catalyst in the process.
A Penn State research chemist, Rustum Roy, duplicated the experiment in a University lab, further verifying its validity. It has been said that the net energy gain is huge in that the amount of energy input required from the frequency generator is only a small fraction of the energy available from the freed hydrogen molecules. Some counter arguments on this discovery state the Energy-In=Energy-Out law of physics, but fail to acknowledge the possible introduction of a catalyst type function (radio waves) into the process.
A YouTube report follows, in which John Kanzius shows the actual lab demonstration of the salt water catching fire:
With $100/bbl oil about to arrive everyone ought to carefully monitor whether this discovery gets "shelved" because it is a serious threat to oil revenues. This could alter world events more than any other issue if this process can be verified by multiple labs everywhere.
Please note that, in the YouTube link provided, John Kanzius has no interest in profiting from this, and is only interested in its possible therapeutic uses as a cancer cure. He is willing to let any interested parties carry forward the research of this discovery as a new energy source. Therein could lie the seeds of a shelving of the idea if it falls into the wrong hands.
Please note that FeedFwd's comments are quite biased by his oil industry background. He fails to take into account the huge investments of that industry in its infrastructure and usage of catalysts also to improve (and even make possible) fractionation yields. This new process is still under investigation, and anyone interested in their energy bills should follow its progress.
This article is about the inventor John Kanzius. For the 15th century theologian, see John Cantius.
John Kanzius (born 1944), is an American inventor, radio and TV engineer, one-time station owner and ham radio operator (Call Sign K3TUP) from Erie, Pennsylvania, who has invented a method that has the potential to treat cancer.[1][2] He has also demonstrated a device that can "burn salt water". Both effects involve the use of his radio frequencytransmitter.
To kill cancer cells using Kanzius RF Therapy, cancer cells are first tagged with tiny objects known as nanoparticles, such as SWNTs[1] and GNPs.[5] When the RF (radio frequency) transmitter apparatus exposes the nanoparticles to the radio frequency signal they heat up, destroying the cancer cells, but don't damage healthy cells nearby.[6]
Steven A. Curley, who pioneered the clinical studies that led to FDA approval of radiofrequency ablation to treat unresectable primary and metastatic hepatobiliary malignancies[7], referred to the method as “one of the most exciting developments in years.”[11]
Kanzius also made it clear that a driving force to coordinate and implement his research was based on seeing cancer-ridden children with little or no hope and desiring to change this for the betterment of all.
As of 1st November 2007, preliminary trials with rabbits have turned up a 100% success rate, with the tumors successfully eliminated and the rabbits remaining unharmed. [1]
Later in 2007, Kanzius announced that the same radio frequencytransmitter can also be used to burn hydrogen electrolyzed from salt water.[8][12] The discovery was made accidentally while he was researching the use of radio waves for desalination. Kanzius said that "In this case we weren't looking for energy, we were looking for something that might do desalinization. The more we tried desalinization, the more heat we produced, until we got fire".[12] Kanzius admits that this process could not be considered an energy source, as more energy is used to produce the RF signal than can be obtained from the burning gas and stated in July 2007 that he never claimed his discovery would replace oil, asserting only that his discovery was "thought provoking."[13] The details of the process are still unreleased while Kanzius applies for a patent.[13]
Kanzius has proposed that the flame is produced by radio waves "forcing together" the "normally separated" hydrogen and oxygen in the water, a process he calls "reunification."[13] In water (H2O), hydrogen is covalently bonded to oxygen, and thus the process must "reunite" pairs of hydrogen atoms and pairs of oxygen atoms, releasing dihydrogen (H2) and dioxygen (O2). The energy from the radio waves is absorbed by the water and splits the water into hydrogen and oxygen which then react together to reform the water and re-release the energy and form a flame. In other words, the process turns radio energy into heat and light energy. The water torch, a form of oxyhydrogen torch, is an earlier example of the process of dissociation of water resulting in the release of heat and light energy.
Kanzius' experiment has been confirmed by Rustum Roy, a materials scientist at Pennsylvania State University, in a demonstration before the Material Science faculty, using Kanzius' RF transceiver[14], which Kanzius had brought to the lab for the day.[8] On his website, Roy writes: "It is clear that Mr. Kanzius has demonstrated the ability to dissociate aqueous solutions of sodium chloride at normal sea water concentrations into hydrogen and oxygen."[14][8][12]
According to Roy, "The salt water isn't burning per se, despite appearances. The radio frequencies act to weaken the bonds between the elements that make up salt water, releasing the hydrogen. Once ignited, the hydrogen will burn as long as it is exposed to the frequencies."[15] The temperature and flame color varies with water solutions and concentrations.[15]
Philip Ball, a consulting editor at Nature and author of "H2O: A Biography of Water", is highly critical of any theory of water as a fuel, both in general, and specifically as an alternative to traditional fuel sources. Although he says that Kanzius' discovery itself needs to be verified through careful experiments, he states that "water is not a fuel" and "[w]ater does not burn". Ball also states that according to the laws of thermodynamics, it is "impossible to extract energy by producing hydrogen from water and then burning it, as this would be a basis for a perpetual motion machine." He is critical of lack of inquiry in the media reports about bogus science.[16] Ball writes "Here, however (for what it is worth) is the definitive verdict of thermodynamics: water is not a fuel."
While glioma is not amenable to targeting by most other types of chemicals because of barriers peculiar to the brain, there have been recent discoveries of chemicals that can pass through. That means nano-particles can be designed to conjoin and hitch a ride into the cells.
It is interesting to look back on the history of other illnesses to see how high profile individuals, or their relatives, have been the first to benefit from new treatments. This has been to the advantage of everyone, such as the early treatments for diabetes given to Elizabeth Hughes in 1922, who was the daughter of a prominent U. S. politician.

Wolf Blitzer referred to this as another "Kennedy tragedy." I thought no, what happened to Mary Jo Kopechne was a tragedy.
But, yes, I'm praying for Teddy's wife and family.

This is supposed to be Hillary's big night and all they're talking about is Kennedy. First Teddy threw his support to Hillary and then Robert Byrd. I've gotten the impression that she's not much liked in the Senate.

And I lost all respect for Senator Byrd for one partiasan reason. When Senator Packwood of Oregon was found to have forcibly kissed a female staff member, I remember Byrd standing on the senate floor with his shaky finger pointing in the air and his shaky voice saying "He should have the grace to go"! Yet, Byrd gave BJBill a pass -- seems like that was much higher level and more offensive -- but apparently not thought so by a fellow consistent (NOT) democrat like Byrd!
