I thought I would go a head and do a thread on the Real I.D. Act.  This is to show people what it is really about and I hope people will act on it.

Tell Senators Real ID is a Real Nightmare and Must be Repealed!

Democratic and Republic Senators alike criticized the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over DHS' forthcoming Real ID requirements at an April 29 Senate Subcommittee hearing. Chairman Akaka acknowledged in his opening statement that 'Real ID (poses) significant threats to American's privacy and civil liberties.' Continuing, the Chairman said, 'Real ID also (poses) significant challenges to the economy and travel industry...moreover, states are struggling to figure out how they are to pay for what is essentially an unfunded mandate.' Senators and invited witnesses alike spoke to the ongoing and significant failures of the program, including invasion of privacy, monstrous cost, States' rebellion, and technological failures. Rather than spend any more time, effort, and money on this abomination,
it's time to just repeal the Real ID Act!

DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff testified before a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing on April 2 that it would be impossible for third parties to 'skim' personal information from Real ID cards, and therefore personal privacy risks from the 'machine-readable zone' was nonexistent. Secretary Chertoff further called fears Real ID could be used to track people a 'blatant falsehood'.

Sophia Cope, Staff Attorney for the Center for Democracy & Technology, said Chertoff had 'the facts completely wrong,' rebutting Secretary Chertoff's remarks to Chairman Leahy in a blunt letter strongly urging the Committee to ask Secretary Chertoff to correct his testimony for the record.

Under authority of the Real ID Act of 2005, beginning May 11, 2008, federal agencies will no longer accept driver's licenses or ID cards issues by states that have not complied with the substantial changes required by the Act. Compliance requires an embedded RFID chip or 2D barcode (machine-readable zone) that can be scanned to provide instantaneous information to authorities. Readers for either technology are readily available to anyone, likely resulting in widespread, institutionalized spying on Americans in the very near future.

Failure to accept a Real ID compliant driver's license from your state will suspend not only your driving privilege, but your ability to fly, collect Social Security checks, open a bank account, or even enter a federal building, such as your Congressmens' offices to complain. The Real ID card, then, will become tantamount to a license to leave your home. And once outside your home, your identity and critical personal information will be available for the taking by anyone, anytime, anywhere, whether you're aware of it or not.

Already, your grocery market may utilize 'membership' cards purported to reward your loyalty to a particular chain, while actually recording the dates, items and amounts you buy. Most, if not all, cell phones track your whereabouts and record calls made and received. Online retailers maintain 'profiles' of you and records of your purchases. Airline 'frequent flyer' programs log your travel history. Once all this information, and much, much more is combined into one large, federal database, you will have no privacy, no liberty, and no freedom. Your life will be controlled by a federal government determined not only to monitor every move you make, but approve or deny your access to your everyday activities.

Twenty-two states have outright refused, or have to-date refused, compliance with the Real ID Act. And the vast majority of Americans still oppose a national ID. They understand the Real ID Act does nothing to stop illegal immigration. Source identification documents are easily forged or obtained from corrupt officials, and our borders are virtually wide-open.

And Real ID will not stop terrorists. ID documents do not reveal criminal intent, and as yet do not even record criminal history; authorities will not recognize any terrorist not previously known to be a threat, such as a suicide-bomber. Terrorists will not care if they cannot access the benefits of our society, and they will not be deterred knowing they will be held accountable if they survive their actions. Their ID, if it remains intact, will only offer authorities an identity, and likely not a genuine one.

Samuel Adams spoke the following words in a speech before the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776:

'If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.'

Yes and I even posted that my son, I call him my second son, Logan who is in the Service has to wear The RFID and also more trackers than you would know of. Also this is such an important Bill to react n, so let's just do it. Call, email and send your faxes asap. The Service requires you to carry it, and they are going to be getting injected. Talk to a person that is serving right now. They might tell you. Up next....Us....if we don't get this abolished soon.

THe American Privacy and Civil Liberties.  The outcry about these has gotten us in a fine mess.  What I see and hear along with these "words" are Jackson, Sharpton, and the ACLU.  This is exacly what these people are banking on to chance this Country into the liberal hellhole we are going into.

The article states it correctly, we are being "observed" as is.  Almost every car we buy, cell phones, banking records, credit/debit cards etc are keeping track of our whereabouts, and the Feds do not need a Real ID card to do so.  The goal is to come into the 21st Century we live in, to weed out ill-willed people who wish us harm.  Not everything is a conspiracy.  More often than not it is a necessity.  Not only can this card show the authorities that you mean no harm to anyone, that you have a clean record, it can also mean the difference beween life and death should you be in an accident, and vital information has to be assessed quickly.  It also sets me apart from illegals and terrorists.

If you do not like the real ID, come up with a different solution, please.

Anyone want to explain the validity of this comment?  For example, I don't know where my neighbor is right now, and how would the Real ID allow me to know????

If it prevents voter fraud being committed by illegal immigrants and their enablers in the Democrat party, I'm all in favor of it.

Hillary Calls for National ID Cards to Keep Illegals Out of the Country

February 11, 2003

Link to story: http://www.newsmax.com/showinsidecove...

(NewsMax)

Saying that she is strongly opposed to "illegal immigrants," New York Sen. Hillary Clinton announced Tuesday that she would support a national identification card for U.S. citizens if other measures to keep illegals out of the country failed.

"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants," Clinton told WABC Radio's John Gambling. Then, a few moments later, the Democratic Party presidential frontrunner added, "We might have to move towards an ID system even for citizens."

Clinton said she would support a national ID card as part of an overall effort to improve the U.S.'s national security.

"Clearly we have to make some tough decisions as a country," the top Democrat warned. "And one of them ought to be coming up with a much better entry and exit system so that if we're going to let people in for the work that otherwise would not be done, let's have a system that keeps track of them."

Asked specifically if she favored a national identification system, Clinton said she would support "at least a visa ID, some kind of an entry and exit ID. And, you know, perhaps, although I'm not a big fan of it, we might have to move towards an ID system even for citizens."

Sen. Clinton, whose husband opened the floodgates to illegal immigrants in 1996 in hopes of naturalizing them in time for that year's presidential election, complained that too many Americans were employing illegals.

"People have to stop employing illegal immigrants," she told WABC. "I mean, come up to Westchester, go to Suffolk and Nassau Counties, stand in the street corners in Brooklyn or the Bronx (and) you're going to see loads of people waiting to get picked up to go do yard work and construction work and domestic work. You know, this is not a problem that the people coming into the country are solely responsible for. They wouldn't be coming if we didn't put them to work."

VOTE FRAUD

Because of virtually no vote fraud enforcement, motor voter registration, driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesties and other factors, American's most precious liberty, voting, is being rapidly undermined by illegal aliens.

I tried to listen, but I don't have enough time, and most of the several minutes in the beginning was silly banter, and two callers-in that apparently didn't even have a question.

My question repeated above is simple -- the article said:  your identity and critical personal information will be available for the taking by anyone

I can be considered anyone, and I'd like to know where my neighbor is!  If the statement is factual, how would I as an individual do that anytime, anywhere, whether you're aware of it or not?  This sure seems like a bunch of conspiracy-mongering to me!  And I have nothing to worry about since I do NOT break laws, and the benefits would probably outweigh any privacy issues -- unless an individual has something to hide!

This card is initially made for the Servicemen and Women that fight oversea's. Yes, there will be a chip that can be put into your skin and it is in effect. Logan had to take it because he is headed for Iran. Personally, I am against this as an American Civilian Citizen. I don't care where my neighbor is and I don't care where the illegals are. If the Government would just adhere to the Laws set forth from back in 86 we would not have this problem today.

Remember folks, I am only talking about the Military and not us civilians. You know the way they will put this into reality would only be because of the illegal aliens that are here and I will not take it. Is it real Jim? Yes, by all means. Is it set up yet? I have no idea as far as us Civilians are concerned. I would really like someone that is in the Service comment on this thread as to put this to rest. The one and only fact that I have comes from my son Logi. He accepts without complaint whatever the Service tells him to do.

That would be one way to curb the Illegals if we can get to them all. I am against this as I am an American and I will not go this route. It has been said that we will take this without a problem when all of this was being thught up. IM is a good example of accepting something like this and I am not saying this to single you out IMA. I am using you as an example since you opined to this thread on your beliefs. I respect that. This is your decision just as this would be the start of another one way, one world, pay with and do away with our Monetary system as we know it as of right now. This is nothing but Control. No card? No food. No Card? No selling. No card? No banking. It goes very deep and I think I understand it since I am a Christian and that's as fas as I will go concerning what the Bible States.

Let's face it, we are now in a very technical society. Just look at what the Military can do with computers and other technilogical items that we and them have at our taking. Is it scary to me? No, I have had years of reading about this because of my faith. This also leads up to the Hoarding Act. Bill Clinton put this into place when he was President. They don't want us being self sufficient. They want to control us. That is fact. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see this.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you good Mom's out here on FS by the way.....:) Get away from the pc and do something with your Mom's and family. Before the race started last night, Nascar, you should have seen the people that were in the stands that had The American Flag assembled and all of the drivers Mom's that were there for pre race. It was just great and I was thinking to myself, Nascar, what would people feel if they from FS could have seen this. It was truley beautiful. Thinking of you all on this great day that America has for all Mom's. I am blessed to be an American.

How many of you knew that the Real I.D. Act is to be implemented by an international company?   Part of it will be handled by the U.S. and the rest by the outside entity.  Where will every ones information be distributed to?  How about globally?  The EU, China, MEXICO, Canada?  Why???  Tell every-one why this international company is circumventing U.S. laws?  Now, what kind of information will they want?  Hummm, how about facial bios, finger printing, even your ear canals will be included in it.  The kind of pictures they want of you are "not" just a picture of you, this one will measure the facial structure of your face (the distance between your eyes and nose, mouth, etc.) They will want retinal scans and anything else they ask for about you.  Do you really want to know that all of your personal information will be transmitted all over the world! Then on top of that they can add your financial, employment, and martial status, children, health, and keep adding anything they want.  Included in this card will be a chip to keep track of you.

Now think about this, your state doesn't participate in the program.  Okay what are they going to do about it?  Well they can keep you from flying on a airplane, riding on a train, bus, or maybe even suspended your drivers licenses for going into other states that do participate.   They can also keep you from being able to collect Social Security, welfare, food-stamps, keep your from being able to have a bank account, anything that the federal government is involved in providing to the citizens of the country.  There are many other things they can do to make it hard on the citizens of the states.  This is suppose to be a voluntary program.  Does this sound like a voluntary program?  It sounds like it is a forced program, doesn't it?  Do you still think this is a I.D. program?  This will not curb illegal immigration.  They will still come and will continue to work illegally and live here illegally.  This program is to control United States citizens and has nothing to do with illegals.  They will still get around what they call profiling!  The only ones that will have to prove anything are people that look like they are American citizens and speak English!   The next thing they will do to the citizens will be to institute the chip into peoples bodies.  They will start by making it mandatory to chip all newborn babies and then move into the population.  This program has nothing at all to do with identification!  Understand that.  Don't be lead around so easily....

Now is this something you really want to participate in?  No me!  Not now! Not ever!  This card is unconstitutional!  They have no right to invade our privacy, and that is all they are doing!  The information can be transferred to different companies.  Maybe someone wants the info so they can evaluate you for employment?  Hey, when have employers ever had the right to that kind of information about anyone?  Try never!  Do you really want them to know what your last pap test read or your last prostrate exam came back with?  NOT!

Please don't think that this is an overblown statement about what they want.  It isn't!

There are nursing homes in Florida chipping their patients, there is a request for hospitals to chip newborns so they can't be taken out of the hospital. It's just the beginning. You let them start chipping the most vulnerable in society and it balloons from there.

It starts with the "real id" with all your info on it ,next it's inconvienient to have it on a card chip when it;s so easy to have it embedded into the body. Think "easy pass" for humans.

Myself, I'd rather be prosecuted than allow them to chip me.

Florida is overwhelmed with the illegal alien population and Martinez & Nelson are shameless enablers.  I hadn't heard of Bilirakis so I had to check him out.   IMO, he's just what Florida needs.  He should be running for President.

Congressman Bilirakis strongly opposes illegal immigration. He does not believe we should give amnesty or any other reward to those who have broken our nation’s immigration laws because doing so simply encourages continued lawbreaking and greater illegal immigration in the future. He knows that effective immigration control requires strong border enforcement (he has signed a letter to the President urging the construction of the border fence as soon as possible) and eliminating the incentives that encourage individuals to come here illegally.

Gus has introduced legislation to expand a Coast Guard program that collects biometric information on interdicted aliens and checks to make sure they have not repeatedly tried to enter the country.

The effort, which his bill would greatly enhance, would end the practice of catch and release of waterborne migrants. He also is working on legislation to strengthen the student visa program and ensure better monitoring of foreign students once they are in the country.

Gus also has cosponsored legislation to prevent states from issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, stop birthright citizenship, eliminate the visa lottery, and clarify that the Administration should rigorously enforce the laws of the United States to substantially reduce illegal immigration and greatly improve border security.

Gus also has voted to end funding for sanctuary cities (those that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration officials on enforcement matters), strengthen interior enforcement, and bolster border controls.
