Rush Limbaugh Blamed for Obama Loss in Indiana

Hillary Clinton eked out a narrow victory over Barack Obama in the Indiana Democratic primary, but top Obama aides say Obama would have won if it were not for conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

David Axelrod, Obama’s top strategist, told reporters that he attributed Clinton’s lead in Indiana to Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” — his campaign to have Republicans cross over and vote for Clinton to prolong the nomination fight and damage the Democratic nominee.

Exit polls appear to back up Axelrod’s claims. Results of the Indiana exit poll found that that 17 percent of primary voters said they would vote for Republican John McCain over Clinton in the general election. And 41 percent of those voters still cast a vote for Hillary in the primary, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Citing these figures, the Obama campaign sent an e-mail to reporters Tuesday night asserting that 7 percent of the votes in Indiana could be attributed to the “Limbaugh effect.”

Clinton won the primary by about two percentage points — 23,000 votes out of 1.2 million cast.

Indiana’s primary was open to Republicans and independents as well as Democrats. In North Carolina, where registered Republicans could not vote in the Democratic primary, Obama won handily on Tuesday, 56 percent to 42 percent.

As the polls were closing in Indiana on Tuesday night, the Indianapolis Star reported that it appeared droves of “hardcore” Republicans were crossing over to vote in the Democratic primary in several GOP strongholds.

John K. Wilson wrote on The Huffington Post that the “Limbaugh effect” “easily provided enough votes to give Clinton her 23,000-vote margin of victory in Indiana.”

He said exit polls also indicated that among the 11 percent of Democratic primary voters in Indiana who said they had voted Republican in the past, Clinton beat Obama by eight percentage points. And among the 16 percent of voters who described themselves as conservative, 65 percent supported Clinton.

Limbaugh declared Operation Chaos a success in Indiana. He told the San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday night: “I’m extremely proud of the Operation Chaos volunteers. I never doubted they would triumph in Indiana and I think it is a hoot the Obama campaign is crediting Op Chaos for giving Hillary a seven-point bump. It sounds like they are jealous I out-organized them . . .

“I said on the air that if the Obama campaign wanted to end Operation Chaos, all they had to do was acknowledge it and say that the Hillary vote was tainted by voters who have no intention of voting for her in November. Tonight, they followed my advice.”

Limbaugh Was Blamed By Who? (THE MEDIA) For What? (TAMPERING WITH THE ELECTION PROCESS)

The folks doing the blaming are THE MEDIA.  Heck, they tamper with the election process everyday:

1. All of their reporting is slanted as though they are agents of the Democratic Party.  With regularity, they slant everything they report to favor Democrates; and. with regularity the try to cast Republican in a bad light with lies and dispersions.  With regularity, they choose not to report any news item which might cast Democrats in a bad light, and they choose not to cast dispersions against Democrats.

2. A prime example of "a media hypster for the Democratic Party" is Chis Mathews.  With passion, he accuses Limbaugh's Operation Chaos of interfering with our election process by encouraging partly line cross-over votes.  Party cross-over voting is a perfectly legal tactic in any state who election rules allow party line cross-over votes - and such a tactic is encouraged and used with regularity by the Democrats, when it is to their advantage.  When Democrats use party cross-over voting to their advantage, Chris Mathews would not utter "one word".  Yet, when Limbaugh (who hates what Democrates stand for and their "slim-ball tatics with political posturing") encourages using this tatic to affect the outcome with Democrats choosing theri nominee, Chris Mathews gets up on his pedistal and shouts "election tampering".  Why don't you, Chris Mathews, stand up state "who you are and what you stand for" - e.g "even though I am supposed to be unbiased in my reporting, I stand for Democrates in my heart and in my reporting whenever I can do so.

Rush Limbaugh is providing a "public service" with his terrific idea - Operatin Chaos.  It is about time the "real motivations of Democratic politicians" and "real facts about who Democratic politicians are" and "what Democratic politician truly stand for" be brought to light.  Operation Chaos is allowing such a light to shine for the public.

One other thing about Limbaugh - "his monologue on 5/6/08 of Bill Clinton complaining about his role with supporting Hillary Clinton's nomination" was absolutely brilliant.  This monologue should be played over and over for the public.  I recommend everyone try to hear it one time at least.  What a funny way to "put some truth into the light".

Oh, spare me the agony! Anyone who KNOWS Indiana KNOWS it is a racist state. When I worked there in the early 80's the KKK dictated WHICH of our 16 offices our black employees would be allowed to work....our black employees were not allowed to work anywhere SOUTH of Indianapolis...I was there, saw it happen and heard the threats.... Rush had NOTHING to do with this....Indiana is simply a racist state with the exception of Gary which is predominately black...

If Indiana is so racist, why did Hillary win by a mere 1.2% ? I agree that Indiana has a racist history but - like the rest of the country - many more people are moving beyond race than those stuck in the days of 'if it's all white than it must be alright".

As for Limbaugh - the notion that a convicted doctor shopper and drug addict has an iota of relevance in the current Presidential contests is frankly ridiculus.

Rush get's blamed for everything just like GWB does. If we here in Florida all of a sudden grew more Oranges and Strawberries that tasted better, Rush and GWB would be accused of something like Conspiracy....Give me a break.

If you in Florida grew more Oranges and Strawberries, you would consume them yourself. The rest of the country gets them from Peru, Mexico, and other latin countries, thanks to GWB, Clinton and other globalist.

Excuse me Algebra????? I don't know where you are from but what say you about all the strawberry fields that we have and all of the functions and peole flocking from all over, including, but not limited to Canadians? We have mass Strawberry Fields here in Florida. You can go and pick them yoursleves and or also buy them by the palats here. I am not saying that you are wrong, but you need to do some more research. We have a Strawberry Festival each year and it's a big thing to tourists and it also attracks them here. You ever hear of a flat? No, not a tire. We have so many Strawberry Fields that it isn't funny. We do consume them ourselves thank you very much. We also have mass Orange Crops. Not as many as we used to because of all the people that retire and move to Florida and that really get's my dander up too. However, we still have people flocking here to do the same thing in the Orange Industry. Where do you think Minute Maid is at? Near Lakeland, Fl. Talk about big Plants that we have here for prcessing them....Wow...you need to do some homework. You think that George Bush and Rush Limbaugh probably sent these Manufacturers out of here also huh? Well if Obammy Boy has his way, then that will just most likely happen.

I.E. don't place blame where blame doesn't belong. As a matter of fact when surveying roads and right of ways, we have to wear protective clothing that the state hands out if we are anywhere near these Orange Groves because of the stringent laws that the Federal Government has out on Florida. That was done when Slick Wilie was in Office. Yup, another Democrat. I guess you could say that our Orange Grove's and Strawberries are run under the man all too well known as the Global Warming King Al Gore too huh? Ha! Hey, that guy really got even more richer when his great book hit the market on Global Warming which as we all know was a hoax too.

Deerhunter, that must be why Jeb Country has so many illegal aliens in Florida, they are needed to pick the crops, those jobs Americans won't do. I do agree with you on your assessment of Clinton, Gore, Environmentalist, Obama. I just feel in eight years Bush should have done something to help, but he didn't he just did more of the same. I do covet Florida's Gun Laws.

Here in Ohio our fresh veggies, and fruit come from Mexico, Peru ( since the trade agreement) and other Central and South American Countries. Ten years ago it all come from Florida and California, could you tell me what happend. I price sure hasn't came down.

Oh don't take what I said wrong Algebra, I was just stating facts about Florida only and I agree 100% with you on GB as to the illegal alien situation. I am up to my knee's with these illegals and I never thought it would happen in our quiet little town of Clearwater. I can't wait until I move on up to my property in North Florida. I can grow, hunt and fish for whatever I want and there are no illegals there. The Mayor there won't put up with it. I do understand what you were saying about fresh vegetables and fruit as far as them coming from Mexico and Peru. Oh and among other things that come from Peru which is despicable. I think you know what I am talking about. Our shores are an open gateway here in Florida as I am sure they are elsewhere here in the USA. Yes, big problem and that's for sure.

The illegals were coming here way way way before Jeb Bush was our Governor, now we have to deal with yet another person that is carrying his agenda as Jeb did and I hope it doesn't bite us. Charlie Crist has started to show his colors on that issue also, even though he signed the new bill to hold Employers accountable for hiring Illegal Aliens and it is stated very well. $250,000.00 fine and jail time if caught. I hope this starts to turn things around here as it has been doing in OK, and Arizona.

Ok...sorry for the rant..Back to top[ic as I need to get going here. Have a really nice day if I am not back here for whatever reason. Nice having Coffee with ya...:)

Your point is taken kiddo. However, I am compelled to make an exception in Limbaugh's case. It's hard to feel compassion for someone who hypocritically demanded the death penalty for drug users - while he wolfed down 20 or 30 pills a day.

Limbaugh is so wrong, about so many things, on so many levels and so filled with hate and arrogance, that even my capacity for compassion strains beyond the limit.

Fact check.  Can you cite a reference where Limbaugh demanded the death penalty for drug users because they used or abused illegal drugs?  Now if they committed murder or rape, whether they happened to be drug users or even under the influence, I too would welcome their conviction and execution.

I'me no fan of Linbaughs, but I would support the death penelty for anyone cought trafficking drugs, or any banker laundering drug money. Untill this happens we all know the war on drugs is just a political game.

Back in the 1920s and 30s kidnapping was big untill the attached the death penelty to the crime. It stopped instantly. If we end up with a trade agreement with Columbia will that include crack.

I am in a smaller town in Ohio.....my veggies and fruits come from our local Amish farmers...best produce EVER! Also....of course have 3 local (HUGE) strawberry farms down the road....goes great with the old german Rhubarb from my garden planted by my great grandmother! Our early spring produce comes from Indiana....my produce girl already has her booth set up for the summer. She closes after pumpkin  harvest in the fall.

Not ALL of our produce in Ohio is from out of the country Algebra...you can't speak for my area in Southwest Ohio...the bulk of our stuff is LOCAL...I know most of the farmers personally around here. I can't wait until our farmer's market opens next week! I love to see the Amish farmers gather on the towns square with their horses and wagons. Feels like the early 1800's!

Indiana is what it is! Having lived 30 miles from it's border and worked for a major company in Indianapolis..I witnessed a great deal of local dominance by the KKK....this was back in the early 80's...things may have changed and Indianapolis has a large population of black citizens. Really good people, salt of the earth.

The only imported veggies or fruits I buy are california avocados, chilean grapes, washington apples and occasionally a star fruit from Jamaica.

BB, three months of the year I buy from the local farmers market, the other nine months, the stores in Central Ohio are full of Latin American imported veggies. Very few California or Florida produced fruit or vegetables. Four days after the trade agreement with Peru was signed the local grocers had fresh vegetables from Peru.
