The NRA-ILA sent me an alert having to do with rules about American Citizens executing their Second Amendment right to be armed, but that being armed is illegal in government parks and on government land. This is the letter I sent the Parks Service;
I could carry my loaded Tommy Gun, BAR, Army .45 Automatic, Model 94, Model 70, M-79, M-60 and 14 other firearms through any park in the United States..........and nobody would be in the slightest danger................because guns do not make me an insane killer.
If I really did have a weapon while in any park, and a Ranger need back-up, I wouldn't hesitate to do so because I would be in a position to do so. However, being unarmed, I might just cause me to oh, go for a hike instead.
The Army insisted I keep a weapon, even sleep with it; and they trained me in it's use and expected me to use it when they told me to.
So, why am I now unqualified and even considered a danger by the same government?

TRUTH is not created by; consensus, agreement, polls or yelling loudest.........Everybody knows something I don't.
I got the same thing. You know what? Screw them. I will carry anywhere I please except for Federal Buildings, Government Agency's and that's that. We must not let any gun control whatsoever in Our Country although Nancy Peelooosi will do all to get any Gun Law Banned. She needs to go too.
Thanks for the thread shatto
About Me: Keep The 2nd. Ammendment Alive At All Cost!! God gave us this right through man. Florida Constitution Article I, Section 8(a) The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and of the lawful authority of the state shall not be infringed, except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law.
HEY SHATTO: Hasn't anybody told you?? You're "dangerous" just because you're a gun owner. You realize that owning guns makes you inherently anti-social, and probably border-line psycho, and sooner or later you'll go off the deep end and do some terrible thing with those evil weapons of yours, just because they, and by inference you, are "evil". Now that you know how misguided and evil you are, I can only say how much I agree with Deerhunter: SCREW THEM--I also carry any damn place I please (within reason), and as my late, great "President" (of the NRA), Charlton Heston said so well: FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!! I've hiked in state and national parks many times, and never without firepower. May it always be so.

When I was a National Park Law Enforcement Ranger at a "small " park in Utah I was working the Park Entrance for one of our Seasonal Ranger's lunch break. Anyway, up comes a car and the man behind the wheel shows me his badge (Police from states away) and asks me what he needs to do with his piece while in the Park. I KNEW I was not following policy, but I directed him to the Campground and ask him if he'd like to bring the family with me on my foot patrol of the Petroglyphs. Hum, what to do with his piece....I told him to conceal it in his favorite holster while in my park. What could he legally do ?
Policy (NPS)states: unloaded, disassembled, packaged and locked up and then in locked car trunk.
With many parks being used for drug growing and smuggling operations, the real danager in our forests and parks is not the wild animals anylonger. A piece is just another survival tool for your pack on any hike in the park.
I wear my XD9 on my hip at all times while standing guard on the border. Since it is federal land, it is subject to the laws of America, not CA. When the goons throw rocks, we throw lead. And let it be known that no patriot/Minuteman has EVER shot ANYONE!! The goons however, (you know, the mexicans who Johnny Sutton insists have no guns),commonly shoot each other & our border patrol agents!
Such laws are unconstitutional and any knowledgeable Supreme Court Justice should have enough sense to know it and have struck this down 9-0.
" Congress shall make no law . . . " ? Hellooooo . . . God -given rights are recognized in the constitution and bill of rights and the constitutional intent was always to restrict oppresive government not the people from free exercise of their rights. I doubt Pelosi has read it or if so was too ignorant to comprehend it. She would rather coddle criminals and treat those who keep the law with disdain.
Our rights come from God and NOT government. If the government control freaks like Pelosi and McCain's pal Uncle Ted, ever get the population to buy into the lie that our rights come from them, all of our rights are at risk.
Re: "No guns" laws and rules - Are the obsessed people who pass such regulations so dimwitted that really expect the bad guys to obey them? Haven't they noticed that the anti-social jackass who wants to exert gun violence on innocent citizens almost always selects a "gun-free" area in which to do it? Post offices, schools, and such are favorite targets for the criminal nuts because they can be reasonably certain that the victims will be defenseless.
Even Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Michael Bloomberg and other anti-gun activists can't be that stupid. They must have an unannounced, insidious, un-American agenda.
Since you bnrought it up Earl, it might interest you to know that ALL, every single incident of of the types of shootings you mentioned were purpetrated by people on psychiatric drugs...every single one of them! Guns don't kill people, people on psycghe drugs kill people. This is a long video but tells the whole story... http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/147.html
My point exactly, Bobby. The Pelosis, Ted Kennedys, Michael Bloombergs, et al, expect that if they pass all kinds of anti-gun legislation the wackos on psychiatric drugs (or other drugs) will stop being wacky.
As for state and national parks, what better place for criminal predators to find defenseless human prey than on secluded hiking trails or campsites?
In 1934, the federal government passed laws forbidding ordinary citizens to be in possesion of automatic weapons, sawed-off rifles and shotguns, silencers, and other weapons being used by criminals. As far as I know, no criminals ever surrendered their "tools". It is only the law-abiding citizens who don't have any. It's now 74 years later and many politicians and others have not noticed that such laws affect lawbreakers very little.
Or is it that they desire a disarmed population for some other reason?
