FBI Arrests Illegal Immigrants In Driver's License Case
ALBUQUERQUE -- Documents have been filed in federal court in an investigation into an alleged smuggling operation involving fake documents used to obtain New Mexico driver's licenses.
The case began two weeks ago when a Motor Vehicle Division employee reported that two people appeared to be using fraudulent information for a driver's license.
A criminal complaint said the two illegal immigrants identified James Kulekhov as having supplied the documents.
Federal agents said he's an undocumented immigrant.
According to the complaint, Kulekhov and a Kazakhstan resident who overstayed her U.S. visa, Anastissiya Galiullina, picked up undocumented immigrants at Albuquerque's airport Tuesday.
The complaint said Galiullina admitted helping Kulekhov transport immigrants knowing they were in the United States illegally.
