When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her out to some place expensive.

So I took her to a gas station!

Too sad, Ima!!  A man in the waiting room when I was at the doctor's Friday said gas in NYC was $5 a gallon.  Pretty sad when the $20 that used to fill just about any tank, now won't even get you 5 gallons!!  Imagine what this will be like come winter....if heating oil, etc. is 3.50, 4, 5 or more dollars a gallon.

The "Libs", and, the "environmental extremists" are getting exactly what they said they wanted way back in the 1970's.....$5-$6 gas. It just took them awhile to get us there, that's all.

I saw a related political cartoon the other day.

The hubby is reading the paper with big headline -- "Food Prices Soar!" -- and is saying to his wife, "Don't worry about it -- we can't afford the gas to go to the grocery!"

TEXAN...NO - I WON'T FORGET THE ALAMO! "Where's the Fence???" RINO huntin' season started January 10th (but ended January 22nd)! FRED has left the building!!!! MITT has entered my world! Oops, MITT left my world too soon also (on February 7th)! Dang, can't catch a break -- but Hillary, Obama, and McCain aren't it either (nor Huckabee, Paul, Keyes, Nader, ad nauseum)!

Even more recently than the 70s.  Didn't Albore propose $5 a gallon gas in 2000?
