I am sure the soldiers were doing what they were ordered to do and their commanding officer was told NOT to protect our border with force.  You can blame our "leaders".  They do not want to anger the Mexicans.

I'll tell you what an armed Mexican comes near my family,  he will drop in about a second.  Questions will be asked later.

Also, considering the Mexican army is rather loosely controlled and we hear about items such as this:

Wow -- Glenn on fire as usual.  I too would bet they were following orders (and if so, had outstanding personal control).
