The Official Frank McEnulty for President Thread

My name is Frank McEnulty and I am an independent candidate for President of the United States in the 2008 election.  I am also the 2008 Presidential nominee for the New American Independent Party in the same election.   I am writing to you in order to gain your support for my campaign to be elected President in the 2008 election. Before I tell you what I’d like to do as President let me tell you a little something about myself. 

I grew up in a lower-middle class family and am the 4^th of 6 kids.  For the most part we were raised by my mother who worked as a nurse.  My father was gone by the time we were in high school and my mom always told us that we could go to any college “we” could afford so we’d better get to work. 

My first paper route came along about the time I was 12 and I’ve worked ever since then.  Even while in college as a full-time student I worked up to 30 hours a week in order to pay my own bills.  I’m used to taking responsibility for myself and believe that’s the way it should be for most everyone else. 

My wife, Cheryl, and I will have been married 20 years a week after the election in November and we have two daughters, Sara – 16 and Rebecca – 14.  Both girls are very active in sports with volleyball being their main sport of choice, while Sara also plays water polo.  It is mainly because of my concern for the future of my daughters and everyone’s sons and daughters that I am pursuing the Presidency of the United States in the 2008 election. 

In what little spare time I have I am a woodworker, wood turner, hunter, hiker and fisherman. 

I have an accounting and finance degree from California State University at Long Beach and a Masters Degree in Entrepreneur and Venture Management from the University of Southern California.  Most of my working life has been spent in management and finance positions in various aspects of the real estate industry and I believe my management background, the ability to deal with multiple situations and, especially, the ability to hire the right people for the right job gives me the skills necessary to manage the position of President of the United States. 

By spending the last 10 months on this campaign,  I realize most people think that I'm either A) nuts, B) wasting my time  or C) delusional that I could ever make a difference.    The most common questions I'm asked are: Why are you doing this?  Then they will say, Come on, you really don't believe that you can make a difference do you?   

Fair questions and here's the answer:

Yes, I do.  I'm fed up with where the politicians in charge have led this country. I am not a politician.  I'm not a radical.  Most of my positions would be described as moderate.  I'm fairly conservative on some issues, more liberal on others. And many people have described my overall viewpoint on things as quite libertarian.  So what am I?  I’m an American – that’s the only label I need and the only label I want.

But I'm also firm in my belief that the country is going in the wrong direction and we better do something about it before it's too late.  It is also my firm belief that there are millions of people that feel pretty much the same way I do, but don't know what to do about it. Well, I believe I have an idea of what we need to do.  And together, with your help and help of the people out there I call the Moderate Majority, we can accomplish a lot.  And just what do I believe we should do? Well, let's start with personal responsibility. I believe people should take responsibility for their own actions and their own lives.

I believe in a strong separation between the branches of the Federal Government.  

I believe in very strong state’s rights.  The Federal Government has been trampling on the states for way too long. 

I believe that all states should be treated fairly and equally in all respects. 

I believe the Federal government needs to get out of people’s lives on a daily basis.  This is just not what a Federal government or any government, for that matter, is supposed to do.   

I believe we pay enough in taxes and need to better manage our money. 

I believe that we need a much simpler, flat tax system.  I believe that the Federal Government is completely out of control on a fiscal level and needs to be reined in.

I believe that that we need comprehensive immigration reform based on strict enforcement of the immigration laws currently in place.

I believe the United States should not try to be the world’s savior, but has the moral obligation to "help" where and when it can do so at the request of the local people.

I believe in God, family and country and that they belong together. 

I believe that abortion should be a last resort, but that it is a decision that must be left up to a woman, her family and her religious beliefs and that it should also be a right reserved for the states to decide.

I believe that the President of the United States should put America - not his or her political party - first. The President should be an American before a Republican or Democrat.

I believe that our military should never be used for political purposes, political gain or to advance an agenda.

I believe that all people are created equal and that all people should be able to be equal in all things. 

I believe the President’s job is to look out for the welfare of all Americans and not just those of his political party or those who he thinks will vote for his party and him. 

I believe that judges should be judges and leave the passing and changing of laws to the politicians we have elected to do just that.

I believe that people are truly entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but that no one is entitled to much beyond that unless they work to earn it themselves.  If you want a nice car or big screen TV, then work so you can go out and buy one.

I believe that political correctness is a real threat to open and honest dialogue.

I believe that true, positive change will never come from the Democrats or the Republicans. 

I believe that the change we keep hearing about will only come from a coalition of third party organizations combining together to bring elections and candidates back to where they are concerned with what Americans want and less concerned with what their party wants. 

I believe that there are millions of people who are looking for a viable alternative to the same old, same old from the Republicans and Democrats and I intend to provide that alternative.

And finally, I believe that "Anything is Possible in America" and if we all work together for the common good it will continue to be that way.  

Can it be done?

Of course it can. There are examples everywhere of people rising up against what they see as a wrong and fixing it. Let me give you just one.  A few years ago in my home state of California, the people of the state got upset enough to actually recall the Governor.  Most politicos didn't believe it would happen.  How could anyone expect to recall a Democratic Governor in the State of California?  Well, we proved them wrong because enough people got together and made a difference.                 

As an independent candidate for President my administration will not be burdened by the partisanship that is rampant in this country. My focus will solely be on getting the job done right. Every decision that I will make as President of the United States will be based on four very simple questions:

1. Is it Good for America?  By this I mean good for America as a whole, not for a special interest group, not for a specific industry, not for a specific political party, not for a specific politician's reelection, but good for America as a whole.

2. Is this Federal law really necessary?  We have thousands and thousands of unnecessary Federal laws and way too many people in Congress trying to pass new ones all the time to help themselves get reelected. Unless a law is absolutely necessary for the American people as a whole, it should not be passed.

3. Is this a proper use of our tax money?  The Republican administration that we have had in this country for the last several years has been on a spending spree unlike that seen in many, many years. What happened to the theory of fiscal responsibility and smaller government? We need to stop throwing money at every special project that people in Washington can dream up to buy votes and stop now.  

4. Is it a long-term solution to a problem or just a quick, feel-good fix?   No more quick, expensive, feel-good fixes that accomplish very little except make voters think you are doing something good for them.

I will not be afraid to veto new laws if I do not believe that they are in the best interest of all Americans.

As an independent President, I will not be under any obligation to pass a law to help a political party or to help get a certain senator or congressman reelected. I will have the freedom to do what is right for America rather than what is right for a special interest or political party.  

By myself, I can't accomplish much.  Let's face it, unless I can get a lot of people to support me and continue to gather momentum, the mainstream press and pretty much everyone else will just ignore me as if I never existed.  However, with your help and the help of your friends and their friends we can make a difference. 

As I stated above, I believe there are millions of people out there that think that the current political situation is bad for the country and that a change needs to be made.  When enough of us get together to make our voices heard - changes will be made. Thank-you for giving me a chance to share some of my views with you.  There is a lot more information on my website at www.frankforpresident.org and I’m willing to answer any questions or provide additional information to you on any topic.  Without groups like yours, there would be little hope for positive change ever occurring in the United States.

I think I read somewhere he is only on the ballot in 4 states.

How many states I end up on the ballot in will depend solely on who much people really want change in this country and how much effort they are willing to put into making the change happen.

 The most discouraging thing about this process has been the huge numbers of people who I've met who are very disatisfied with the way things are, but who are unwilling to even gather 10 signatures to help with ballot access. 

We get the government we deserve.  If you feel you deserve better, then you have to help to do something about it.

Giving money to mexico for drug wars? I don't agree we should do this but put funding on Our border , more armed military, tanks , guns.  aircraft etc. and stop the smugglers of people and drugs Out of our Country.

Yes I want to know more  we have really rotten candidates running and we Refuse to vote for Obama , especially don't want his kind of Racist wife as first lady

Immigration - Enforce our laws already on the books and the problem will become self correcting.  No jobs, no benefits, no reason to stay here.

Trade - All trade bills must do far more to protect American workers first.   A trade bill is useless to us if it hurts more people in this country than it helps.

We send enough money to Mexico every year through the billions that the illegals send back home.

Drill, dig, pump - The only way to slow the increase in oil prices in the near term is to exploit the resources we have at home, just like we did in the 70's.

I would like to know where you stand on illegals getting food stamps, welfare, section 8 houseing? And we have mostly mexicans coming to this COUNTRY and getting all these programs while the husband is in the house working for cash.  you see them hanging around waiting for work.  what do you think about they only come here to DO the jobs AMERICANS dont want to do?

Why is it they can do this at the expence of the AMERICAN taxpayer, and they get cash everyday, and YET FAIL to pay TAXES like everyone else has to?

What are you going to do about the people who loitering outside a buisness and yet are attacked by these people?  they are hounded, give me money.  They beg for money while yet they intimidate AMERICAN citizens who DO work.

We have people who live here in the apartment where I live, and they have threaten to get me.  They live off of welfare while husbands are working for cash, this one family gets everything, and yet he owns 5 taxis and gets cash everyday, do you think he is going to be a good citizen and pay taxes?

 We have a failing government and what are you going to do about all these officals who are laughting at the AMERICAN people?

Are you going to tell us that it is good for us to have this ILLEGAL invasion like BUSH has been doing for all these years?

When is it time to send these people home?

When is it time for the gas prices to stop climing and lets US dig for oil here in AMERICA instead of us giving our HARD working money to the terroiest groups that are profiting off the AMERICAN people?

When is it time for people to STOP losing there homes they have worked so hard to get only to lose it because no one gives a rats ass in the white house?

When is it time to stop hiring illegals so that wages go down to only benefit the owners?

When is it time to stop the ILLEGALS obtaining forged and stolden, social  security cards withoput any kind of punishment?

When is it time for the illegals to stop breaking the laws of the USA?

When is it time for the illegals to be responsible for their actions, such as the rape and murders of children, women?

When is it time for the government to take a stand for the AMERICAN people who they work for, and have to answer to ?

When is it time for all the illegals to be DEPORTED and the DOUBLE FENCE to be built?

When is it time to START telling the TRUTH, about all the things that ARE going on?

Remember when it comes to DEATH you will stand before GOD and answer to all that YOU HAVE done, what are you going to say when you, have to answer to the things you have done to the USA.  And to the people of the USA the people THAT VOTED YOU into OFFICE.  What are you going to say, to the lies and to your hidden lies and the ways you have decieved the people ( who TRUSTED YOU and VOTED YOU into office) of the USA. He will see every hidened lie and everything else that YOU have done you will have to account for that Mr Bush.  Remember you dont live forever on this EARTH, you will die someday, and YOU will have to answer to all that you have done to the USA and the people of the USA, everything will be out in the open, we will see everything that YOU have done behind closed doors and the lies that you have said to the AMERICAN people, you will be held accountable.

They are laws on the BOOKS but, yet they the GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED to uphold those laws, what difference will you make in upholding those LAWS?

When will it be time to STOP encourageing the ILLEGALS to stay in our COUNTRY the USA?

Do you agree with Bush says that we the Europeans stold this land from the mexicans?

I am not any part of we I am indian, my family was here before anyone stepped foot on this land.

What are you going to do about the TERROIEST that are living in OUR COUNTRY, such as the ILLEGALS that invading OUR COUNTRY?

When is it time for the LAWS to be enforced like what Sheriff JOE is doing here in Phoenix, he upholds the laws but, yet is threaten and has been told he is the KKK and the Nazis, when ARE the LAWS going to BE ENFORCED?

Just because the AMERICAN people want the enforcement of the LAWS does not mean we are raciest, haters, KKKs, Nazis, white trash, blu trash or whatever kind of trash.  We are fed up with ILLEGALS breaking the laws, such as rape of children then they run for the border then come back later.  Of course mexico will DEMAND there will be NO PUNISHMENT for these criminals, so when is it going to STOP that AMERICA has to get permission to punsh an illegal for the crimes he or she has committed?

When is the time going to stop that mexico can interfear with what is going on here in the USA?

When is it time to STOP the DEMAND that we give them millions of dollars while we have people here in the USA that need help?

When is it going to STOP that we end up helping everyone in other COUNTRYS than our own here in AMERICA?

When is it time to uphold the laws, and send the people that are here illegally, deport them, and if they come back they go to jail?

When is it time for the government to start sticking up for the AMERICAN people, and punish illegals for the crime they commite against the AMERICAN people?

When is it time for the government to start punishment against the illegals that rape our children, and murder?

Are you going to be that man to put HIS FOOT down and say enough is enough and close these doors?

What about the agents that where wrongfully convicted, based on what a illegal drug runner who got a free pass to bring more drugs into the USA, and that the evidence was withheld based on the likings of Johnny Sutton, are we going to have the same problem with you? And what are you going to do about these agents?  What are you doing for them NOW?

Are you going to get these men convicted if they are protecting the border and they shot an illegal drug runner that is brining drugs into the USA for our children to take? Will you let some overjelous attorney general jump at the chance to convict these men who are only doing their jobs?

What are you going to do about Johnny Sutton if you become president?  Are you going to make an example of him? We have the agents to protect and to serve just like officers of the laws here in the USA, since these agents have been in prison, what does that tell you and what kind of message do you think that is sending to the other agents?

Hey more power to the guy. Anyone that will stand up against the jet setters that HAVE ruined this country...more power to them.

terrikoob, I don't like the idea of illegals tapping into our giveaway programs either. I have heard people talk for years of their disdain for some poor, legal, family receiving food stamps and perhaps a couple hundred bucks from Uncle Sam.  

While we rid ouselves of the lowly abusive crowd , how about we work on what in my opinion is one of the biggest problems with the freebie system  being corporate welfare. Good grief, how much will be thrown toward the subprime mortgage ilks? How come I have to bail their sorry , greedy asses out?
