I saw these women on t.v.  Very Stone cold,  only evaded the Real questions,   I think the state did the right thing, by getting Kids out.

Reminds me very much of Islamists, who believe in having as many wives as they please and children in the dozens.  Isn't bin Laden one of 25 sons and just as many daughters, if not more?  I find it to be disgusting and, actually, un-American in that it is a departure from Western culture and Western civilization and seems to model itself on Eastern cultures.  As Americans, we have liberty and we have freedom of religion, but the founding fathers never counted on such a thing I am positive.

While we may not agree with them the very rules that guarantee our religious freedom may get trampled very badly by this action.

Don' t forget Greg that these people seem to have broken several laws.  I am not a lawyer, but rape of a minor and polygamy are a no-no, and it seems that neglect is something to be considered.  As for the rest it's freedom of Religion alright.

These women were stones and very scripted , it was evident they were told what to say, what to ignore or evade etc.   They seemed almost Mindless.  Didn't know how many children they had Nor there ages,  and all said there husbands have more wifes then just them.  That is illegal

Reminds me very much of an incident called the Branch Davidians in Waco Texas. Another case of the state over stepping it bounds. Sorry folks I do not believe in police using armored personnel carriers and tanks and copters against women and children. does Gestapo ring a bell, you need to go back and review the films of this heroic raid on women and children, also there is no proof of wrong doing as the accuser has not come forward how convenient.

I have only seen the mothers crying for their children on tv .  Can you imagine the fear of some of those kids---being taken away from their mothers.?

Yep, where is the accuser?

There are one or two states that allow polygamy. Not my cup of tea. Yet, when it comes to religious freedom we must not let those who want to take it away use this to start the ball rolling.

It's hard to believe that any of them actually have a personality of their own. Their hair is done up in the same fashion. They wear the exact same type of dresses. Basically, they look like they were cut from a single mold like the "Barbie" doll was.

I understand that they have their set of beliefs, but allowing a person under the age of 16 is a little outrages, if you ask me.

I believe that the children were rightfully taken away from their parents. Allowing children to be married under 18 just seems wrong, not to mention the fact that some may have been 14 or 15.

While you may be right on your values choices they are still your choices. Forcing our values may end up backfiring on us. I've been down this road as I rescued (kidnapped) my daughter out of a cult with police handcuffs.

What a fiasco-debacle that was.  Maybe if Janet Reno and the Clintons were still in office they could have burned down this compound too?

Why do these things always happen in Texas?

Is what you are saying that Sharia law, animal sacrifices etc are ok as well as long as they are under the cover of Religious Freedom? Does that mean that the father who killed his two daughters in TX was right to do so because of his religious belief?  What about suicide bombings in the name of Allah?  Be careful what you are saying.  It shoots both ways.

Happens every day folks even if you do not like it. Which religion is next, I am sure it will be the pentecostal as they act like a cult to me, and yes even though most catholics don't want to hear it your religion is a cult just like the mormons and all other religions that try to force their beliefs on others.

The name of this group needs to be changed to the Fire and Brimstone Society as most discussions are now religion based. As one of the first members of this group I am really disgusted with the direction this forum has taken, Moderators shold redirect the forums to issues of politics and Illegal Immigration which was the original forum direction. The bible thumpers have now taken over and I personally don't like it. I am sure there are Bible study forums where you can cuss and discuss religion all day long and never come up with the right answer as there is not one answer to all things. I like John McCain keep my religion to my self and do not need to thump my chest and tell every one that I am better than you because I go to this church or that church.

I like that....the FireandBrimstoneSociety.com!  I agree that this forum is not what it started out to be.  There actually is a thread for religious discussion separate from this main forum.  The mods should direct the "bible thumpers" there.

We are discussing the sect in Texas in this thread, the fact they hide their horny old men behind Religion aren't we. So where do you get off lecturing us? Blaze, FireWing, next time please read the title of a particular thread before you complain.  We don't always stay on subject, but it seems that we are doing just fine on this one.  There are plenty of threads on Immigration and Politics for you to discuss, and should we come off subject on any of them, please complain there.

The question here remain is if the sect can use abuse their children and hide behind their religious beliefs?  And are we crippling our 1st Amendment if we take their children away? They question I am asking is if we let them get away with breaking the law with Poligamy and raping kids, can we allow a Muslim to kill his daughters because they have broken some Islamic law, or have a suicide bomber kill some innocent people in the name of Allah?  Answer me these questions, blaze and FireWing, and if they are not poliitical enough, I've got some more.  This has to do with the law as it is written in the USA, and has nothing to do with Fire and Brimstone.  What's next?  Illegals hiding behind what the Pope said and demanding to be let into this Country?  Here is your Immigration question.  And an answer please before you feel like going off again.  Thank you.

That wasn't my question.  And I am not defending anyone for doing anything that is against the law.  Read it again, I think we might agree more than it seems.Wink
