What are women going to do when "real men" are all gone?

(I'm not worried because I've got a real man.)  As a general rule, women don't like "girlie men" unless they're into henpecking.

Indeed we are -- and not only in the movies.  We've had two adolescents in the White House since 1991.  I think it's time we elected an ADULT.

Going to miss him a lot.  It's always been a special treat when my daughter and I sit down to watch "Ten Commandments"year after year.  Just watching the 4 clips AOL had on their news -- from Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes brought back so many memories.  We just lost Richard Widmark.  Not many Hollywood legends left.  And ditto on the "real man" comment!

He was such an inspiration (spiritually and morally), and you know he was probably sick inside as to the mess with our country and its present and upcoming so-called "leaders."

He will be missed as all of the other truly great "stars" who supported our country.

Living in a fairly small town, Heston's death was front page news.......also printed was a jab he delivered to Bill Clinton when he was president of the NRA.  He was quoted as saying, "America doesn't trust you with our 21 year old daughters, and we sure, Lord, don't trust you with our guns."

Oh my gosh, I'd forgotten that.  What an awesome man he was and one of the few brave enough to speak the truth.  "They don't make 'em like that anymore" is an expression that certainly applies to Charlton Heston.

So true....Customers in my profession all almost entirely over 65 years. I have the priviledge of meeting many WWII vets....they are so humble. Mr. Heston was inspirational and that trait seems to be disappearing.

Rest in Peace Mr. Heston.

May he take his rightful place in heaven.  We sadly can't replace men like that.

Well, he was my favorite movie star, a real legend and I admired him for the stand he took in doing the right thing, especially when I saw him lift that rifle and say they could only take it from his cold dead hands, reminding everyone we, as Americans, through the Constitution, have the RIGHT to bear arms!

Handsome, great actor, beautiful voice, tall, and the devoted husband of only one wife, (a rarity in Hollywood) this man was somehow, in my eyes, the cat's meow, the type of man I strongly admire.  This type seems to be vanishing too quickly.

Oh, that we had more real men in this world today like Charleton Heston, men who stand up for what's right, regardless of what others think.  Today we have panty-waists who talk out of both sides of their mouth, ever trying to please everyone.  When will they ever learn this is an impossibility and they must take a stand on one side or the other, regardless of what others say, do or think?  He wasn't one to mince words and said exactly what he thought.  These type of men are a dying breed and like Rhett Butler said in GWTW, "Take a good look my dear"......... for these types of men are a dying generation, the likes which we will never see again.

Alzheimers is a cruel disease which robs a human being of his mind and I'm so sorry he met his fate through this dredded disease.   God rest his soul.

Don't worry Earlene, where he is now, all his faculties are intact once again, and he is still waiving his Rifle for all of us.

Earlene, what a beautiful tribute and my sentiments exactly.  R.I.P. Mr. Heston. We will miss you.

I always try to think good thoughts, but when it comes to a soul entering into Heaven, I don't like to make an assumption, because not everybody goes to Heaven---it's not automatic.  While he was a good man, I don't know that he was religious or accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.  God says that all our righteous is as filthy rags in His sight and that we must be born again to enter into Heaven.  I only hope he acceped Christ before his mind went and that I might see him someday in Heaven.

I'd be relatively certain he believed in Jesus as savior.  Otherwise, I rather doubt he'd have recorded his reading of the new testament on the life and passion of Jesus:  Charlton Heston Reads The New Testament, MP3 Album Music Download at eMusic  Some in Hollywood may be up for sale, but I don't believe he was.
