Dear Sen. McCain,

I am 47 with one wife of twenty years, two kids, a small business that employs legal workers, I pay my taxes using my own ssn and I have an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. What is it about me (and others like me) that makes you have so much disdain for my position on the shameful situation on the border?

For the first time in my life I will not vote for a republican for president. I will vote because there are many other important issues that need to be addressed but will write in my choice for the office you seek. You have made sport of holding positions that are dangerous to the future of this country, my children’s future by the way. Your lack of resolve regarding securing this country’s southern border is irresponsible, dangerous and shameful.  

You have enjoyed media fawning as a “maverick” unfortunately for you that status was bestowed upon you for pissing on me and many others like me. By definitions mavericks are feisty, ornery and unpredictable. That is not the definition of conservative however and you cannot be both.

I am embarrassed to have you for the nominee from the party that I have supported for so long.

Good letter except you forgot to mention how his statements he "hears the American people about securing the border" go directly against his actions of hiring Juan Hernadez as his Mexican advisor.  Apparently he feels Amercains are stupid and can't see that his actions speak louder than his words!

I will not vote for John McCain either.  I envy people in states where they will have a third party option.  I risk 'spoiling' my ballot by writing in a candidate, and none of the other votes being counted so my only option is to skip over the POTUS section and 'under vote'.

I have read today, that McCain has killed the effort to get a  petition, a discharge petition, an effort to bring the SAVE ACT, the Secure America through Verification and Enforcement, H.R. 4088, to the House floor for a vote by calling members of the House and Senate telling them not to sign this petition.  They need 218 members' signatures. The last I head they needed 79 to force a vote.

In the meantime Mrs. Pelosi and other senior Democrats are trying to pass legislation, the Baca Amendment,  that would give illegal aliens who pass a background check a "five-year temporary worker permit" that expires Dec.31, 2012. It would also give employers who hired illegal aliens immunity from prosecution for hiring illegal aliens. Democrats hope to neuter the SAVE ACT if it gets to the floor.

Here we have evidence that McCain will never support enforcement of immigration laws or any law that would stop the flow of cheap foreign labor. If he is elected Big Corporations and Special Interest groups will have the open borders that they want.

VeeBee -- I've mentioned before that his statement "he's heard the people -- they want the border closed" is typical politico-speak.  If you analyze it, it merely says he heard it -- it can stop there, meaning he does NOT plan to do anything about it -- he just "heard us"!

He did this while the other captives were sewing American flags inside their prison uniforms and suffering the consequences of being caught.  He also did this while the other captives were giving out only their name, rank and serial numbers and dying because they refused to give out vital information to the enemy.  He uses his experience in Vietnam to further his political career.  Over 3,000 people died on 9-11 and he wants to pamper the terrorists at Gitmo instead of perfoming minor interrogation tactics such as waterboarding.  He doesn't give a rip about the security of this nation by opposing closing the southern border - this in the name of pandering for the Hispanic vote to further his political career.

McCain is a spineless shame and does not represent the American people.

I decided the minute he became the Republican nominee that I would write in my candidate of choice.  That sure as heck isn't McCain and definitely not Hussein Obama or Hillary Clinton.

I, too, will not be voting for John McCain, and will only vote for those running from my state for various offices.
