Rep. Steve King Comments on Possible Barack Obama Presidency.

Rep. King: al-Qaida would celebrate Obama victory

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Steve King of Iowa said Friday that terrorists would celebrate if Democratic candidate Barack Obama won the presidency.

King, a Republican, based his prediction on several criteria: Obama's pledge to pull troops out of Iraq, his Kenyan heritage and his middle name Hussein.

"The radical Islamists, the al-Qaida ... would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they would declare victory in this war on terror," King said in an interview with the Daily Reporter in Spencer.

King said his comments were not meant to demean Obama but to warn how an Obama presidency would look to the world.

"His middle name does matter," King said. "It matters because they read a meaning into that. ... They'll be dancing in the streets because of his middle name, they'll be dancing in the streets because of who his father was and because of his posture that says, 'Pull out of the Middle East.'

"That has a chilling aspect on how difficult it would be to ever win this global war on terror."

King's comments are the latest attack on Obama's heritage. The Illinois senator, born in Hawaii to a white Kansas woman and a Kenyan man, has said he is a Christian and has little connection to the Islamic religion, though he acknowledges he spent part of his childhood in largely Muslim Indonesia.

Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor criticized King and others who have brought Obama's heritage into the presidential debate.

"These comments have no place in our politics," Vietor said. He said John McCain, the apparent Republican presidential nominee, should "repudiate them like he has previous offensive comments from his supporters."

Late last month, McCain denounced the introduction he got in Cincinnati from talk show host Bill Cunningham, who referred to Obama three times as "Barack Hussein Obama" and called him a "hack, Chicago-style."

King said Obama would not get so much scrutiny if he made a stronger pledge to protect the country.

"I don't want to disparage anyone because of their race, their ethnicity, their name, whatever religion their father might have been," he said. However, "there are implications that have to do with who he is and the position he has taken."

A message left at King's office was not immediately returned Friday night.

Very intellegent man! Finally, someone said it! It should get to the media and be spread all over the world that Obama will NOT be our next persecuter! If he gets in, I will be on my knees from day until night until he has been taken out of office. He really should be concerned about his saftey as alot of Americans won't let this happen. Not because of his race! Because of his lies he has been caught in already and having a wife who isn't proud of this country unless her hubby can run it! She sure don't sound like a Harvard Grad. How did that happen? She sounds like she is straight from the Ghetto. Has anyone looked at her actual school records and found out how and what she did at Harvard? Maybe its time to start digging and find the truth about these unpatriotic people who want to run our free country! Obama is a liar and a cheat. We have had enough of that, wouldn't you say?

I agree.  We need more people like him (King)who are willing to say what they mean.  To many people don't want to step on anyones toes.  That why the Country is where it is now.  King states a fact, and we should stand behind a man who is willing to state the obvious.

McCain is stark contract to that sells his soul to the PC devil and denounces his own supporter instead of having enough backbone to stand up for what is right.  How can anyone support a wimp like that?

I can't see how anyone can support any of the wimps we have for choices! None of them are for the betterment of our country, so what choice do we have? You can vote for any of them and get the same problems , only worse than we have today. Once there is a new President, whether it be another GWB (Mccain), a woman who will cry if things don't go her way and a very scarey man who is nothing but a full blown liar just to get in office in our country. Hmmm? Which one should I pick? Not one good candidate for America. So sad and so very scarey. I can only hope that there are alot of people on this and ready to have to take our country back and keep it.

We certainly cannot depend on any of the ones running to do so. So, its us again! Or Still. We have no representation from our leaders. We have to do the dirty work and I am sure they are ready.

Yes, we need to pray whoever gets in, but especially if any of these three get in.   And we need to PRAY NOW THAT THE TRUTH BE MADE KNOWN-- all the truth!  All the truth about the election process - all the truth about what is going on behind the scenes.  Why did all the candidates drop out from bad to worst till we are left with only the worst? Why did Trancredo drop out to support Romney, when Hunter was closest to Trancredo's values.  All the truth about who is in control behind the scenes.  All the truth about media news coverage so biased its just propaganda.  All the truth about the character, background & record of all the candidates.    We think we have at least some of the answers, but so many seem unaware and uncaring.

Let us pray now that the truth be made known to every American citizen  now and that the election process be returned to the will of the people.

Unfortunately.....Speaking the "truth" about " Mr. Nothing, Hussien Obama"will get you and anyone else that goes that direction in hot water with his very powerful financial backer's at MoveOn and their staff in the US Media.Will we be able to take down this very controlling, destructive anti-American dynasty that will soon be in charge of all of our lives?.......Not until their wayward "zombie" followers wake up to reality....but then it might be to late for all of us.

Without the help of the media.....We've got to take it on our on and continue to broadcast the "TRUTH" the best that we can and hope for a "wake up call" to take effect. These people are totally "zoned out!"

If the truth, the whole truth isn't seen and heard by all Americans to actually see and decide for themselves what's going on, this is a very unfair election at the least. The media is where people get thier only news of the day. Besides the Newspaper, which is just as bad. Americans cannot "wake up" if they are being lied to and deceived on a daily basis. They feel like they are being told the truth as they have relied on these reporters for so long. That is who they have come to trust.

We need to get the word out to everyone we know, and some will look at you like you are crazy! Believe me, I have been laughed at! But if you can plant the seed, maybe people will start actually start digging for the real truth. One only knows you have to turn over rocks or be a mouse in the Whitehouse and behind closed doors of Congress to really know what is truely going on. I know I don't know the whole truth, but am more knowlegable due to these forums and blogs in FS. But I am with you guys on making sure people who are still trapped with the lying media know they are. They must know the whole truth. WE must know the whole truth, however ugly it may be.

Prayer is the only thing thats going to get us out of this one! So all who believe must pray with all thier might.

I emailed Representative King as well and told him how grateful we all were for what he has said.  Thank you for the zip code.

When I e mailed Rep. King, I reminded him that JFK was "grilled" by the press about his Catholicism and how it would affect the presidency, should he win.  We had never had a Catholic president.  Well, we have never had a president who was Muslim in his early years. Shouldn't that be a point of discussion? And why are we not "allowed" to use his middle name??? When that radio guy used it he was villified? Can you imagine having a president whose middle name was avoided?? Why so touchy about all of this.  The vetting process for a president always was and should be a huge consideration.

People are so" taken back" by Obama that they will do almost anything to make him look good .And his middle name is something that raises a red flag--and why wouldn't it? Are people forgetting what happened to our country and who was responsible? I think we have every reason to be concerned about all of the candidates, including "king Hussein". The way things are happening and with Obama's popularity, I beleive that every aspect of his life be allowed to be looked at. And proved to be true.

After the Pesidency we have had to deal with for the last 8 years, we should know everything and the truth about the candidates. And the truth is his church awarded Farrakahn (even though he denounced him) we all know how he feels about him and his minister who also worships Farrakahn. We know he lied to Canada (or us) not sure which about NAFTA and got caught in that lie. However I have not seen it on the news or in the media. We know his wife was never "proud" of her country until her husband began getting votes. Her words. We know he is not proud enough of this country to hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem (while running for president)! What more do we need to know? Everyone else needs to know about him before they make a grave mistake.
