I have had an uneasy (sick) feeling about our three likely choices for president since the race thinned out. They all seem so unreal that they remind me of caricatures of themselves. Then it hit me Clinton, Obama and McCain remind me of characters from some well-known Movies.

These roles are Hannibal Lector, Ferris Buhler and Rainman respectively. Hillary Clinton is so conniving and false that her public persona belays the dark merciless heart that lies beneath. Barak Obama is winsome and can spew BS like few others all the wile he appears dangerously clueless as to the damage his fabrications will cause. John McCain is a sort of savant who has glaring holes in his political acumen that counterbalance a few clear concise strengths.

So here I am, having to choose between Hannibal Lector, Ferris Buhler and Rainman. How did this happen? Is this really the best we can do? Do I go for the cool calculating narcissist, the clueless likable storyteller or the mostly challenged savant who gets little right but a few key issues.

Well now you see my dilemma. There is no Mr. Smith going to Washington. Without serious candidates to vote for I must either not be involved or decide who will screw up the least.

I don’t think I will like the way this movie will end. I hope the popcorn is at least fresh.

Hey, there are MANY of us wondering the same thing,  HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!!    It is a SAD day for America.

If you have to hyphenate your race--you are NOT an American!! This from a French-German-English-Irish-AMERICAN! See how silly this can become?

Perplexing, pitiful and pathetic.  All the "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" guys were ignored, rejected, forced and threatened out of the picture.

Now our movie  choice is "Doomsday."

Only nonviolent way I see out of this is a massive write-in campaign for Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo.

I have no trust in our voting machines since the last few election screwups. We should use paper ballots (it will prove the voter knows how to write), even if it takes months for honest, everyday American citizens to count them. I am willing to volunteer.

I will write in Tom T. What if we commit to that and get others to commit? How many could we get?

Not enough, even though he's a great guy!

My Vice Presidential candidate can whip your Presidential candidate!

As I thought.

So which is the least dangerous, Hannibal Lector, Ferris Buhler or Rainman?

Haven't heard much about Tancredo since he dropped out. Seems he is keeping a low profile - don't know the purpose of this.

But as long as we still have a first amendment, why is any former candidate not laying it out before the people as they should do? If they are interested in the welfare of this country, they should be at the forefront. While they might not be members of the "inner circle, surely they would have more knowledge and influence to impart to the rest of the citizenry of this country.

Is this silence another example of "political corruptness"?

N2N., Funny analogy-caricature analysis.  Unfortunately this is NOT a movie.  It's real doggone life.  We also must remember that none of us are exempt from being human, as Forrest Gump so aptly portayed.  We work better united and as a team.  The best we can do now is to hump and make sure we elect the best Senators and Congressmen available.  Also being human doesn't keep anyone from being free of possible corruption.

Alipac is trying to get Lou Dobbs to commit to running, but if he is, you would think he would have made a move by now.  I plan to sit this election out if McCain is our only choice.  The way I see it, Democraps are outnumbering Rep. these days anyway and since Bush has come out to "endorse" McCain, Republicans get what they deserve! How can we even vote out the incumbent senators if no one is running against them, except an immigrant supporter?

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men and women do nothing!

Absolutely! We are being attacked from within and without! Here in Mexifornia I think it is too late. Too many areas of CA are controlled by people who hate this country. In the Bay Area it is the old hippies and in LA it is the young Mexicans. As the old hippies retire and the Mexicans breed they move across the landscape destroying everything in their path like locust.

I doubt if the remaining smaller communities that have not been overrun have the numbers to elect enough representatives to stop the crash course that we are on.

Thanks for seeing the humor in my post. It is the most serious issue we are facing but I felt like I had fallen through the looking glass when I realized that one of those three bozos was going to be the next president and I could not stop it.

We'll survive, and especially if our faith is placed properly.  God never fails.  Thank you too for sharing the humor.  We need more humor.  It keeps us from crumbling.
