Barack tells Mexico: Raids, deportations don’t work

Barack Obama hit the front page of the Mexican papers again this morning, this time in an exclusive interview (snagged after his speech at the Austin Convention Center) with the Mexico City daily Reforma, in which he made comments sure to please Mexicans. In some of his strongest language so far on the immigration issue, Obama told Reforma that raids and deportations aren’t the answer.

“The raids haven’t worked,” Obama said. “It’s clear the contribution these Mexican workers make for our economy and one of my priorities on this issue is to keep the families of immigrants united and not separate them with deportations.”

Mexico by and large couldn’t be happier with the three remaining presidential candidates, widely perceived here to be the most immigrant-friendly of the original slate of candidates.

I wonder if this will make the news today?  I would think if Obama is in hot water over his Nafta - give jobs to everyone but Americans switch in Ohio - then I can't see how this could help him in Ohio or Texas.

Some one needs to let Obama know the raids are working just fine and if every state has the laws that Oklahoma and Arizona had America would quickly be 38 million illegal aliens fewer.

I still have to wonder why we have 3 pro-amnesty candidates....obviously bought & paid for by the main stream media. We know who paid for Obama but wonder who paid for Clinton & McCain, perhaps LaRaza?

With 43 states passing anti-illegal laws, at the demand of their constituents, it's obvious to me our "democracy" is not working (for sale)! Time for another "tea party"?

It is amazing how this guy plays switcheroo depending on the state he's sweeping through, and how he defends and gives leverage to illegals through his statements to this paper.  He could care less about true American citizens.  He'd rather take care of big business and the illegals they utilize.

You gotta hope Hillary will beat him out in the big states so we can keep him from the nomination then they'll both be squabbling for the next few months to keep the nomination in limbo.  We have to keep Obama out of the whole process.

Tea party time is right.  All kinds of surprises awaiting the big three (candidates) and the respective parties.

I told you guys, he is MUCH more dangerous than Hillary for one reason, if he gets into the WH with is absolutely STRANGE overwhelming popularity, especially if the house/senate are still in democratic control, EVERYTHING he wants will be passed by them due to his popularity with the people.  If Hillary were to win, she has enough enemies with her own party and the republicans, that she will have to fight tooth and nail to get things passed.  Not sure how McCain will fair, he has a lot of conservative enemies in the congress/senate, so he might have to fight to get things passed too.  IMO, the WORST possible candidate for this country is Obama!

But, 10 to 1 that Texas goes for him!  Sheep know no stopping them once they get to stampeeding!
