Hs anyone else heard that Pr. Bush is now supporting a ban on guns? I heard the end of a radio show and someone said that Bush is considering signing laws banning guns. If this is true, We The People are screwed.
We the people are only screwed on this "IF" We, the people have no back bone. The ATF has reported that those with registered weapons number somewhere near 300 million. That does not even think to try to count the rest of the unregistered weapons. So that makes us (the gun owners) the largest standing army ANYWHERE in the world. If they pass laws against us owning guns, we know that we have the Second Amendment that can only be repealed by a vote of 2/3 of the majority. If they are warned, and know that NO ONE will give up their guns without a fight, then only a total fool would try to take them away from us. Not too many people would be dumb enough to try to take your gun, if they knew that they would get shot in doing so. We just have to stand up for our rights!!! If we do, no fighting force in the world could come against us!!!
IMHO the people in places like NYC who put up with that idea were just plain not thinking. I would not live there for anything. Guiliani went directly against the 2nd Amendment in establishing that "Open Target Zone" where only the law breakers are armed. I'll stay in AZ with a 'castle law' and the ability to legally 'open carry' and defend myself!!

“The amicus brief, filed last Friday in the D.C. gun ban case of D.C. v. Heller, argued that any gun ban - no matter how sweeping - could be constitutional if some court determines that it is ‘reasonable.’” (Pratt)
If it becomes illegal for me to exercise my God given and constitutionally protected right to defend life, liberty, and property, then America has fallen, she is no more.
“The gun control agenda is based on the view that ordinary citizens cannot be trusted to use the physical power of arms responsibly. But a people that cannot be trusted with guns cannot be trusted with the much more dangerous powers of self-government. The gun control agenda is thus an implicit denial of the human capacity for self-government and is tyrannical in principle.” (Alan Keyes)
“On its face, [the DOJ DC v. Heller brief] would appear to be an attempt by the Federal Government to gut the Second Amendment, and thus retain as much power, and simultaneously limit the rights, and thus power, of individual citizens, as much as it can, which is profoundly disturbing, by itself. But the fact that it's coming from the White House is especially problematic, since it means that Mr. Clement's/DOJ's brief carries a considerable amount of weight.” (David Crane, Defense Review. 1/17/2008)
“Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. ... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.” - Founding Father Thomas Paine
“They that are on their guard and appear ready to receive their adversaries, are in much less danger of being attacked than the supine, secure and egligent.” - Benjamin Franklin

I recently had to fill out some papers at my Drs office, they wanted to bring their file up to date. Among the guestions was " Do you own or are there any guns in your house". I left it blank figuring it was really none of their buisness but how many will not think and fill it in? Then I hear that Drs are now thinking of using Google to store their records. Makes one wonder if this might be a first step in getting all the gun owners on a 'registery'? I'm going to request my Dr not store any of my information 'off site'.
Depend on God and not the government. There is a recent push by the federal government to use church leaders to talk the citizenry into disarming and rendering themselves defenseless. Is this a good idea? “Look at Katrina in New Orleans. Most of the police left the city themselves. Some of the police that remained were seen and even filmed stealing from the stores. While gangs are out in full force with stolen guns are law abiding citizens suppose to give up their guns and ‘trust’ the government to protect them?” (Howse)
Our constitutional second amendment right was meant to empower the people against anarchy like above, and the tyranny that would leave innocent families defenseless and enslaved. Do not render the sacrifice of the American revolutionaries a waste by giving up the freedoms they gave their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for! Strong families of God prepared to provide security and defense for themselves and their neighbors are the stabilizing unit during a disaster, not the federal government.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.
“One evening while Reverend Jonas Clark of Lexington was dining with John Hancock and Samuel Adams, Paul Revere warned the British were about to attack. Asked whether the men of Lexington would fight, Clark didn't waffle or hesitate with cowardly excuses about mixing politics with religion. Instead he replied he had personally trained them for that very hour and if need be, he said they would die ‘under the shadow of the house of God.’ The very next day it was Clark's parishioners who gave the first blood of the revolution.” (Creech)
mdcyguy & a12iggymom - - I think that you did not read my post above. My husband is licensed with the ATF to do reloading of ammo and sell any he wants. Our guns are registered - both the rifles and the hand guns - and I am not the least bit afraid of the consequences. If they want any of our guns - they can pry them from my cold dead fingers - that is if they can get through the cross fire from my neighbors. Know your neighbors and your neighborhood. Plan ahead and have a battle plan formed because sooner or later (I expect sooner than you think) you and your neighbors are going to need that battle plan and the ability to defend each other.

Hey Pixie, I admire you're conviction, but I don't think it will come as a full frontal assault that would need the wagons circled and defended. It is a slow and gradual errosion of the rights. Very hard to take a "stand and fight" approach against it. The arrest will be for something other than your firearms, but they will be confiscated in the process. . . it will be hard to know when to give your life for the right cause.
The answer to this dilemma is very clear! Vote for Ron Paul! I'm sick of people saying that a vote for Ron Paul would be throwing a vote away. Well from my point of view if you vote for any of the others you will be throwing away our Constitution! Wake up people!
I haven't heard about Bush and gun control "yet" but I will investigate it...
mdcyguy - - the frontal assault may not be from the government - - though I wouldn't put it past them to try to use the UN forces (good targets). It will more likely be the criminal invaders and globalists supporters against those who are true Nationalists and Patriots.

It's convenient for gun banners to dismiss this argument by saying, "That could never happen here, this is America." But history shows that only vigilant people can keep government under control. By banning certain weapons today, we may plant the seeds for tyranny to flourish decades from now. - Ron Paul
We must remain viligent...a gun ban won't happen overnight. It will happen bit by bit...restriction by restriction...and over the decades of time...that is UNLESS an event occurs and martial law is imposed. You can bet EVERY registered gun owner will have a knock on their door.
As said above, our guns are registered. And - I do not think that our citizenry in general is going to keep sitting long enough for them to continue the slow restrictions. The martial law is a real prospect - however - that is when the UN forces will be needed by our government because I believe our sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters who are in the military will NOT fight or stand against the average US citizen. They have taken an oath to defend us and I believe that they take that oath seriously and most are not unaware of the atrocities that our government is perpetrating.

Dose anyone know anything about the forgein troops that are on our soil? You can do your research on this, but there are 1.6 million forgein troops here in the U.S. training for this paticilar topic. Infact there are German soldiers that run the homeland security, do your home work. We have something like 3 million troops of our own but only about 20,000 of them are here in the U.S., the next phaze is to rid the rest of our troops to forgein countrys so that it would make it easyer for the forgein troops to marshell law this country, think about it, if they have no feelings or conections with us would it not be easyer for them to shoot some one that evades giving up there arms. The samething is happening in other forgein countrys that you just don't hear about. How many soldiers of our own do you think would beable to shoot there father or mother cause they believe in there rights to bear arms, I don't know many my self. Anyway do your home work and you will see the truth of it all, also check out the Black Pope on your web browser, learn more about your goverment that your average Joe don't know.
I know a great many people on this site support GW Bush--I no longer do. I believe in the effort to create a North American Union. An armed American citizenry could be a major deterrent to its success. I believe GW Bush wants the NAU--that is why I have changed my mind about him.
It's been a long tme since I was in the military, but my love and respect for my parents, (God rest them), would never allow me to bear arms against them or suppress them.
chango - Did you read any of my post from yesterday around noon?

So - chango - we may be easy targets for the UN forces - BUT - they are easy targets for us too. My spouse frequently uses an avatar of a picture of a UN bright blue helmet laying on the ground with lots of bullet holes in it. Those bright blue helmets are excellent targets, easy to see. And remember that we armed Americans grossly outnumber the blue helmets - - even if they brought in all the rest of the blue helmets from around the world! And that is not even taking our army into account - that's just "We, the people."

misterbill - Have faith in the American people. About a year ago my husby and I went to one of our church dinners. That is a place where some people might expect to find more people against guns and the prospect of a civil war. When the subject of our politicians anti-American actions came up, we were surprised to realize that in that staunchly independent Christian setting, we were surrounded by people who were armed and ready to fight for the continued existence of our beloved Nation.
Keep in mind that the approximate 300 million gun owners that I mentioned above is not a reported figure of the liberals who would be in favor of places like NYC and only the criminals having guns - - that figure is from a National Bureau who simply tries to keep some minor idea of the number of guns in the country and they admit that is only a drop in the bucket of the true number. NO OTHER COUNTRY around has the armed populace that this Nation has. That is because we do NOT want to become subjects instead of citizens.
Keep your guns - and be willing to use them to protect yourselves, your family and your neighbors!

What do you know about the Technoligy that the U.N. troops hold? Can you shoot something that you can not see? Or can you shoot something that is 15 miles from your home with guidence missle's that you won't know even are coming till the last minute before they hit your house. Yah we can stand against a small Milliatary of U.N. soldiers but the out come would not be in our benifit, with the technoligy they have, I've been studing this stuff for about 20 years now, my brother inlaw works for Dupont and he said they have made things that, we would have not a chance against, that our goverment is funding, I have a friend that was working for a privite contractor welding the new armor on the humbie's and said that it would blow my mind if we knew what he was putting on them. With the technoligy of today it wouldn't take a big army to take america down, the only reason we haven't taken out all the insurgents in Irac is cause we don't know who is enemy or who is civilians, but here they would know the difference between the people's you can't get enough of our people to work together on things that is why our country is going to shit in a hand basket. And believe me I am one of those gun owners that believe in the right to bear arms.
chango - I read your last post. I make mistakes now and then too - but a suggestion - - look up the words: technology, guidance, missiles, government, private, Hum vie, America (my country's name is capitalized), Iraq, "people's" refers to a possession of the people - not more than one person, a friend is alive and the word referring to him should be who (not that). "That" is an asexual, inanimate object.
OK - my English teacher mother would have a stroke trying to read your post.
Now - as to the general tone of your whole post - - - well, I am amazed that you own a gun with the attitude that you have. You would - the way you write - have us all defeated already without a shot fired. You sound like the anti-American Hollyweirds with their absolute negativity.
And yet - - you seem to think you are so important that someone would waste an extremely expensive bomb with a guidance system on you - - or for that matter - me? Keep in mind that the people who want us disarmed, also want to use this land we are on - not have it all uninhabitable.
Besides, can you name me one time in recent history when the UN actually took an action successfully against a people. As a general rule, they are class A screw ups - incapable of putting together any successful operation.
Go back in history, when the first guy decided to wear armor. His enemy simply feathered his arrow differently and shaped the head differently to pierce the armor. Every time a new type is created, someone finds a way to defeat the armor. That will always be true. Add more protection and pretty soon you are immobile. Remember the quick moving Indians were a real problem for the white man who fought in formed lines. We all learn to adapt.
As far as the UN troops - if they want guns taken away - they will put boots on the ground. If I am killed after I've taken out a dozen or two who would take my weapon from me - that's pretty good odds - - - a pretty good example and I'll be content going to my maker knowing that that many less are there to cause trouble for others.
