Steve Sauerberg will run against Dick Durbin in November. I proudly voted for him Super Tuesday and he won the nomination. It is time to vote Dick Durbin out.

For anyone in Florida, please remember, we need Martinez and Nelson kicked out on their coatails. I'd use a more profound word but I am here, so I can't.

msbobbie and others...have been speaking with JRoessler and Texas Tommy Two Shoes about this....JRoessler will be placing his post on THIS THREAD as you beat us to creating our initial thread to mobilize for these important Senate, House and Rep elections that will be coming our way soon....Not trying to hijack thread- but it is the SAME TOPIC- we were just slow getting the thread up and this is a great start for our project....let's call it "OPERATION CLEAN HOUSE". Once we mobilize all of you on this thread and find out WHO can help in which state and if others can help us recruit people from ALL 50 STATES....LET'S NEUTER THIS NEXT PRESIDENT WITH THIS PROJECT- WHOEVER THAT MAY BE!

Will ask Sean if Steve Elliott can send mass email out to our ENTIRE membership list to help us with this endeavor and include the link to this FS thread ....it is a BIG PROJECT...are all of you ready to work as hard as you did to squelch s 1369?! This is not an impossible task- WE HAVE BIG MOUTHS AND LOTS OF FRIENDS! Let's get out there and fire up our respective communities with letters to the Editor explaining how these elections will be vital to saving our nation. Talk to your neighbors, talk to your friends- Seniors...visit your local senior center and help us get our "greatest generation" involved!

msbobbie emailed with me and had other thoughts on this thread and subject.  I emailed her back and recommended that msbobbie and JRoessler go thru Sean as she is thinking a thread for each state.  That's why I recommended talking to Sean first so this can be best coordinated.

Dear Fellow Conservative,

I'm working to retire John Kerry from the Senate and the national Democrats know I can succeed. Kerry's liberal friends in Washington will stop at nothing to keep him in the Senate. But I know I can beat him in November and bring change to Washington and I need your help to do it.

The Democrats are scared of my candidacy. Last year I came extremely close to winning a special Congressional election; despite being outspent five to one in a Democrat-leaning district. The national Democrats poured millions of dollars into the Congressional race to defend what should have been a "safe" seat for the Democrats and I have no doubt they'll spend even more to keep John Kerry in the Senate.

Kerry's own campaign is acknowledging the threat of my candidacy! They're so scared of the prospect of losing that they've stooped to low and desperate attempts to attack GOP Senate candidates and our state parties. Just this weekend, they said my state party is a "federal disaster" and an "endangered species."

Washington is too big, too corrupt and too controlled by partisan politicians. It is time we change the way Washington does business. I want to go to Washington to end wasteful spending, secure our borders from those who threaten our national security and reduce your tax burden by repealing the death tax and making the current tax cuts permanent.

John Kerry still has a war-chest full of millions from his failed presidential run and he'll use every penny to keep his Senate seat. While Kerry relies on his expansive war chest and personal funds, I am relying on the generosity of the GOP grassroots to fund my campaign.

As a farmer, small businessman, and retired lieutenant colonel who spent 28 years in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, I stand ready to take on John Kerry and the national liberal establishment who will stop at nothing to keep him in the Senate. With your support today, I know I can win this election and retire one of the country's most liberal Senators.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Jim Ogonowski

P.S. I'm running for the U.S. Senate to retire one of the country's most notoriously liberal Senators and I need your support today to do so. Kerry's liberal friends are scared of me because they know I can win. More than 50% of voters in Massachusetts want to "give someone else a chance" in the Senate and I stand ready to take office and change the way Washington does business.

I had started this thread with the basics of the federal elections before I heard from JRoessler.  Maybe I am just thick-headed, but it seems it would be too difficult to put all of the states on one thread with maybe a couple hundred people posting.

I have started a project using the forum WHERE SENATORS STAND ON AMNESTY, since we already have all of the States there.  I am about 2/3 finished in identifying the States that have Senate elections this year, and making a little comment about each, along with the dccritters website for each state.

My incomplete thought was that people from each state could add information about primary dates and the local elections in each states thread.

I don't want to hijack anyone's project either.  I just want to help get information about what we are facing this year.  I won't be offended if anyone does not like my idea.

I found this this am and thought anyone in Ohio would be greatly appreciative of this news if you haven't seen it yet. I'm proud of this guy and how he wants to get Congress under control.

Veterans Become Pro-War Candidates
By JULIE CARR SMYTH
Associated Press
February 27, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Scott Radcliffe believes two tours of duty in Iraq gave him the stuff to serve in Congress. As a platoon commander, he helped spearhead economic development, built citizen coalitions and made many tough decisions, often amid enemy fire.

''I would be putting all I learned in that pressure-filled environment into practice. So it really cuts through metal,'' said Radcliffe, 28, who seeks to unseat a newly elected Republican in northwest Ohio.

He's among the dozen or so Republicans from across the country helping each other campaign under the banner of Iraq Veterans for Congress, cross-promoting each other and directing donors to a shared Web site. It's a response to the anti-war veterans whose campaigns drew attention in 2006, among them Patrick Murphy of Philadelphia, the lone Iraq war vet serving in Congress.

The platform of Iraq Vets for Congress grew out of the attitudes of the previous election: They believe in victory in Iraq, staying on the offense in the war on terror and taking care of all veterans, said founder Kieran Lalor, who's running for a seat in New York.

Lalor's pro-war band of brothers includes California's Eric Egland, a military intelligence officer who gained national attention for his book ''The Troops Need You, America'' and a charity of the same name. Other members of the group hail from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana and Maine.

''Most people say we (Republicans) lost the Congress last time because of the war,'' said Lalor, 32, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. ''I put my life on the line there, I lost friends there, and if I didn't believe American national security was at stake, I would be the first to say so.

''We as messengers are as important as the message.''

The warrior returned from battle to serve in public life is as ancient as the Roman hero Cincinnatus and as familiar as five-star general-turned-President Dwight Eisenhower. Political scientist Costas Panagopoulos, director of Fordham University's graduate program in Elections and Campaign Management, said combat experience resonates with voters, especially during wartime.

''It doesn't surprise me that we're seeing this development in the current election cycle,'' Panagopoulos said. ''We're a country facing major national security and international issues and ... that experience will grab attention on the campaign trail.''

Both parties have recruited veterans in some of the nation's most competitive congressional districts. Democratic state Sen. John Boccieri, an Air Force reservist who's served in Iraq, is seeking the northeastern Ohio district being vacated by 18-term Republican Rep. Ralph Regula.

And in Maine's 1st District, where six-term Democratic Rep. Tom Allen is running for Senate, Republican Charlie Summers is seeking Allen's seat while serving in Iraq as a Navy reservist.

Despite the war's unpopularity, Americans still support their troops, and facing a veteran on the campaign trail can be difficult, said Michael Dejak, campaign manager for Summers' challenger in the Republican primary, Dean Scontras.

The IDEA was to start with a thread like this....see WHO we have to represent EACH of the 50 states...ask for VOLUNTEERS to HOST EACH STATE'S website and report back here with any pertinent information or progress.

This is for ALL OF US...and it is a BIG PROJECT- so EVERYONE IS NEEDED to see this through!

Are we ALL ON BOARD? Let's start ticking off the states we currently have represented.

I AM FROM OHIO! We need to get rid of BOTH Senators and of course that little weirdo Kucinich!

I am from Oklahoma. Our Senior Senator Jim Inhofe is facing re election this year.  We are very proud of him for his stern efforts in defeating Shamnesty last summer, opposition to trade deals that are unfair to the United States, and many other true conservative values.  We must return him to the Senate, but I am afraid turnout is going to have a negative effect on our conservative candidates at all levels.

Senator Coburn will face re election in 2010.  He holds tight to the nations purse strings and was responsible for saving American Taxpayers nearly 2 TRILLION dollars in 2005 and 2006. Figures for 2007 are not yet available

We have 4 above average Conservative Representatives in the House and one Blue Dog Dino.  All in all Oklahoma could do a lot worse.

Our key to holding this edge will be TURNOUT, TURNOUT, TURNOUT!

I live in the Dallas area.  If you visit http://www.dallasnews.com/elections/

in the top right corner is a box to put your address in and it will bring up a voter guide for your district that allows you to compare candidates side by side.

That's how I found out about this guy who's running against John Cornyn, who actually is pretty good on the issues.  I just had to share this guy's info though:

Larry Kilgore

Who should take the lead in expanding access to health care: Washington or the states? If Washington, should the federal government require employers to provide insurance for workers? Or should Washington require individuals to buy it for themselves? In return for everyone buying insurance, must insurers offer coverage to all people regardless of preexisting conditions?

Answer:  It is not the responsibility of the government to require employers to provide insurance for workers or to require private individuals to have insurance. Once the US Empire allows Texas independence, access to health care for Texas citizens will improve. The US Empire takes via taxes about $6,000/Texan (including children) each year. Without that tax burden many families can take care of their own health care. Christians are to help the poor, widows and orphans including access heath care. James 1:27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction.

Should Congress return to reforming immigration laws? If so, what should it do?

Answer: Once the US Empire allows Texas independence, we can determine our own immigration policy. If an individual enters Texas without authorization, Texas as an independent nation can take action to protect our citizens. The US Empire's failure to protect Texas from illegal immigrants is costing the Texas taxpayers more than $4.7 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. 240,000 illegal-immigrant sex offenders reside in the United States – while 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sexual offenders come across U.S. borders illegally every day. In the future, I would love to see the Juarez / El Paso border have the same advantages of openness that the border town of Texarkana currently enjoys. Texans should welcome tourist & workers from other countries. Texans should treat our guests with the same hospitality and justice as our citizens. The Texas governor should work with the governors of the bordering states of Arkansas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nuevo León, Oklahoma and Tamaulipas. Depending on the level of cooperation these governments provide in protecting Texas citizens, these borders can be totally open, partially open or totally closed.

Sorry so long a post.  I just thought this guy was interesting.

I'm from Iowa and Rep. Steve King is seriously thinking of challenging Tom Harkin for his Senate seat. However, we've still not found an appropriate candidate to take Rep. King's district, yet. Harkin's never been seriously challenged before. He usually justs chews his opponents up and spits them out. But, King is in a class of his own-very tough and very conservative! He may be just the guy to pull it off.

Also, there's a great guy who is running against John Murtha, in PA.'s 12th District, that I want to make you guys aware of.  His name is, William T. Russell (Lieutenant Colonel, USAR). He served in the US Army for 28 yrs. of Active and Reserve service, including six tours in hostile fire zones.

WILLIAM T. RUSSELL IS A TRUE CONSERVATIVE!

GUN RIGHTS----opposes any attempts to restrct the rights of lawful gun owners.

BORDER SECURITY---the government has an obligation to protect our borders and responsibility to never give illegal aliens amnesty.

TAX POLICY---wants to eliminate the Death, Marriage Penalty and Capital Gains taxes and make Bush's tax cuts permanent.

LIFE OF THE UNBORN---100% pro-life.

NATIONAL SECURITY---starts by standing behind those that are serving on the front lines and giving them the funding AND support they need.

This guy is a professional soldier, and as such, knows how to fight and win wars. To win this battle, however, its going to take the concerted effort of not only conservative Republicans in PA., but from all over America.

At the very least, you people in PA. ought to give this guy a good look.  And, the rest of you, stop and think, what a great victory it would be for our side to replace Murtha with this kind of conservative. THIS IS THE KIND OF CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, WHO, IF ELECTED, WILL HELP US TAKE OVER THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. (S0 IS STEVE KING REFERRED TO ABOVE.)

Great candidates like this are the reason I'm so confident that WE CAN TAKE THE PARTY OVER.

LET'S KEEP WORKING. WE CAN DO THIS!! WE CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. SAMUEL ADAMS "When principles that run against your deepest convictions begin to win the day, that battle is your calling, and peace has become sin. You must at the price of dearest peace lay your convictions bare before friend and enemy, with all the fire of your faith." Abraham Kuyper
