Societal differences have caused a major rift in the effectiveness of what Washington can do to redirect America in the right direction. Then, we have the influence of major lobbying firms that interject their wealth into the equation. Faced with these over-whelming distractions, the legislators aren't able to focus on passing any real decisive legislation to better the United States of America.
This brings us to some areas where the majority of people can agree.
America has begun to fall into such dismay which could cause irreversible consequences unless something is done, immediately.
Some of the rhetoric surrounding many conflicts has distracted from the real underlying issues which need to be sorely addressed.
The People need to be the ones who manage and run this Country, not the lobbyists and other countries who are injecting their own beliefs of what America needs.
The Constitution of the United States of America is the 'Law of the Land' and needs to be treated this way.
The People can pretty much agree on these 4 points but defining them is the mere problem. Republicans and Democrats have drawn their lines of battle on how to contend with the problems of what America is facing. America deserves better than an ideological split. IT deserves the coming together of both Parties for the betterment of America. And, that can be done. However, not all compromising would have to totally throw out the ideology of what each Party stands for. There is a way for the Federal Government to deal with most of the issues that face us and that is by making general Policies while allowing the States to go more in-depth. Yet, there needs to be limits as to how in-depth each State can get. My belief is: 'This is supposed to be the United States of America. Therefore, all State laws should credit each other State's laws. And, they should never be so different from each other that people can't grasp the main concepts when they travel to those States'. In other words, 'America's States need to work with each other to provide for the People in their States and for the People who come to visit their States'.
To conclude, “The People of America need to give a little in order to get a little.” If they aren't willing to put some of the ideological differences aside then America will continue to be 'two Nations within one with an emergence of a third Nation', a Republican Nation, Democrat Nation, and the emerging Independent Nation. So, a good question to leave this with is: “Will there come a time in America's future that America will split itself for each Party to make their own laws to rule Its own group of People, Republican law, Democratic law, and Independent law?”

Please don't take this as an ad hominem attack. I think we just fundamentally disagree on some things. I believe the two parties have come together. There's barley a lick of idealogical difference between them. They both want (as you correctly stated) to have the "Federal Government to deal with most of the issues that face us and that is by making general Policies" and that is the problem. In a word, they are driving the country toward socialism and that is NOT for the betterment. Wiser politicians would spend more time examining current legislation and sunsetting a good deal of it that is obsolete, counterproductive, or in conflict with other legislation. We have so many laws today that many are unenforceable and others are enforced selectively or not at all. It is hard to avoid being a lawbreaker and most of us probably couldn't read the federal register if we had the inclination. Politicians are held in low esteem and way more people vote for American Idol than for presidents because they care more about American Idol. What does that tell you?

I honestly believe there are major ideological differences among both Parties. For example, Democrats believe that people should be able to come here with no questions asked and no requirements as long as they want to better their lives. Republicans believe that people from other countries should have to abide by the laws in order to get into this Country, even if they want to work and better their lives. This is one reason that there is a fight about how to deal with the Illegal aliens that are invading our Nation and what needs to be done with the ones that are here.
It's these types of ideological differences that are splitting the Parties.

I would not characterize the republican party and democratic party split. I would say the republican party is split on the immigration issue. It seems that more than half of ELECTED republicans support amnesty or non-enforcement of laws on illegals and only for fear of losing their cushy jobs to an angry electorate did they agree to vote against amnesty. The Sessions, Inhofes, Tancredos, and Hunters seem to be a minority even in their own party, swimming against the tide of the lobbyists, party hacks, and MSM. The problem for Republicans is that pseudo-democrats (aka RINOs) have taken over the republican party.
When you get past the halls of congress and out onto main street, there are indeed differences between everyday democrats and republicans. They are not going to come together as long as the MSM continues its one-sided assault on conservatives. The MSM picks at the scabs of social divide, especially racism. And from that the issue remains a festering mess that can never heal.

The fact that billions of dollars go directly back across the border every year kindof contradicts the democrat point of view, traditionally Mexico still thinks AZ , CA , NM , UT , WY , were stolen from them.If we don't enforce the border they will never recognise it.We Americans are responsible for "TAKING" North America ,But if it Wasn't us it would have been the next one to come along , then where would they be.
