Mitt Romney will endorse John McCain as the GOP nominee for president, CNN has learned.

Mitt endorsing McCain could be the first step to getting Mitt on as VP, they're grooming Mitt for President in 2012 with John being really old then.  Makes sense.  And if McCain does live and run his VP would not run against him.

I added up the numbers and even with Romney giving McCain his delegates it still doesn't add up to the 1,191 needed to win.  Am I wrong?

Oh yeah.  I get that.  I was just wondering why the second post was posted on ths thread.  Couldn't find a connection to the topic and the 'alankeyes' weblink.  Thought maybe I was missing something.

And now we know why Huckabee keeps chuggin' along. They will "broker" this deal between them.

Frankly, I'm sick of hearing who someone endorses once they've left the race.  I could not care less.  I'll make up my own mind, thank you.

If any of them thinks their endorsement will make me forget and suddenly think McCain is a good choice, they're wrong.  They might want to use some of this on me:

The technique seems to allow psychiatrists to disrupt the biochemical pathways that allow a memory to be recalled. You don't even need to know the Vulcan mind-meld to do it.

Okay.  Latest news.

With Romney's delegates it puts McCain 68 delegates short.

All McCain has to do is win a couple of other states, which he will, and he will be "THE ONE."

For the party, what party?  I'll surely not trust Mitt for 2012 that's for sure.

68 votes short?

All this is is an effort to keep Huckabee from giving McCain any more embarrassing defeats.

With the exception of Dr. Alan Keyes and possibly Newt Gingrich don't you think they're all in it for the power?  Which is why it is so so important to make sure we elect the right Senators and Congressmen.  I've stated this before, but personally I believe Newt is positioning himself for a go at it in 2012.  Never know though, just look how things have changed in the past few month's.

2012 is a long way off and there is ALOT of damage that can be done in 4 years.  You are right - take care in electing the House and Senate.  Maryland has already ousted 2 of their incombents for some new people.

Could have told you he'd endorse McAmnesty the second he dropped.  Typical.... politician.

Rat?  He's been smelling like that for over a year.

If it gets Romney on the ticket to at least try to keep McCain in check, fine.  With any luck, McCain will croak in office and he can take over.  Don't like it, but that's the way the game of politics is played.

You are right, McCain needs Mitt and Mitt could very well take over if (God forbid, of course) McCain croaks.   As much as we don't like it,  a McCain/Romney ticket may absolutely be able to beat Obama.  And who wants Obama as comander in chief?

Not me, that's for damned sure.  Increase our taxes to solve world poverty???  Haven't we been fighting the "war on poverty" since Lyndon Johnson?  Are people still starving in Africa and Bangladesh, etc?  How about we worry about the kids in Appalachia first....then MAYBE ....THINK about solving the world's problems.
