I have been wondering what to do about the Presidential election with no candidate who cares if we have a border with Mexico.
Do I (we) vote my conscious or choose the lesser of two evils? I have come to the conclusion that choosing the lesser evil is what has brought us to this crossroads so that is no longer an option.
First lets dispel a few myths:
The middle is for people who do not realize how fragile our social structure is.
The middle is for people who choose to use feelings or thoughtfulness over wisdom in forming their opinions.
That said there are really only two sides to the big issues of our time.
One: The USA is more wrong than right, bad than good and average than unique. Therefore massive change is needed.
Two:T he USA is more right than wrong, good than bad and unique than average. Therefore conserving is is in order.
Three: There is actually no middle because we are constantly being pushed to the left with the help of “moderates”
The left and its allies fall into the first mode of thinking. Why else would they constantly complain about those of us who want to conserve what the USA is? The most ideological of them want wholesale social change similar to the revolution that shattered Russia 100 years ago. The “moderates” are happy to slowly move our country in that direction by staying in the ever more left “middle”. In essence moderates are the enablers for the left. They talk of compromise and equity when in reality there is no compromise with the left. The left will slowly erode the social and economic foundations this country (or any other) until it is unrecognizable. When has a (failed bloated waste and corruption ridden) social(ist) government program ever been discontinued? I know of none, on the contrary the worse the program fails the more they scream for funding. The bureaucracy becomes the end not the means and takes on a life of its own. The “moderate compromise” is to give more power and money to entrenched bureaucracies to fix a perceived inequity in the system. To the leftist this is a win-win. The “moderate” validates the position of the leftist and helps them “fix” the problem. By not questioning the premise of the left’s arguments “moderates” are not compromising they are enabling. But as we know they (the left) are never happy, never satisfied (see One above) so nothing gets “fixed”. It can’t be “fixed” because the USA is fundamentality flawed in their view.
That leaves us on the right. Of which McCain is not. We have to constantly object to the premise of the left’s arguments otherwise we fall in the “middle” and enable them toward their goal. Of course when a true conservative (one who wants to conserve this society) raises a question about the fundamental premise of a political issue the leftists and “moderates” in the media, Hollywood and Washington scream foul. We are called ideologues, racists and all other manner of names in an effort to not have a discussion about the foundational premise. It is impossible for a true “compromise” unless we can have a real discussion about the issues so the “moderates” and leftists continue to “compromise" us toward the left.
Winston Churchill said it like this:
“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”
The “Moderates” are said to “compromise” when they really appease people who believe that the USA is so fundamentally flawed that it is not worth conserving.
We are threatened on our border and in our cities and we are told to “compromise”, read appease. This is why I cannot vote for John McCain, his “middle” position (if that is what it is, I have my doubts) is no better and maybe worse than an openly leftist candidate. He may be deluded into thinking that because he plays the Washington game well that he posse’s wisdom. He has been and will continue to be an appeaser to those inside and outside this country who wish us harm.
