McCain wants to be president pretty badly. Unless he can bring the conservative base back, he does not have a prayer. By sticking to our guns and supporting his opponent in the general election will show us whether he will sacrifice his election as president for the goals of the elite who have subverted this country's electoral process or will bow to our will in order to be successful. We do have that power as conservatives.
If conservatives stick to their guns and support the Democrat candidate unless McCain pledges that there wi;ll be no legal path to citizenship for illegal aliens, no increase in federal taxes, and that he will sign the repeal of McCain- Feingold during his presidency.
If McCain really wants to be president, he will make the pledges in the next two or three months. In the mean time, spread the word and do not back down. If he does not budge, we will deny him the presidency and know that the subversion of our political system by shadow groups is nearly total.
Good advice. However, I do not trust McCain to keep his word. He has already sold his soul to the CFR to get as far as he has. He could have a accident, you know.
I think Romney was "advised" to 'suspend his campaign', and so was Tanc. Hunter just never got any traction. Thompson was there to take votes away from them, when they were gone there was no reason for him to stay in. Giuliani just plain blew it.
GET CONGRESS ATTENTION! CHANGE YOUR W-4 AT WORK AND CLAIM 10 DEPENDENTS SO NO TAXES WILL BE TAKEN FROM YOUR PAYCHECK. WHEN THE MONEY STOPS COMING IN MAYBE THEY WILL REMEMBER THEY ARE SERVANTS TO WE THE PEOPLE.
It is good advice, I agree, but I also agree that McCain would not keep any promise or sign any pledge with intentions of keeping his word.
It will be interesting to see what the coming months bring for him, particularly with no traction from us--conservatives, and the 2 to 1 Democrat margin of voters.

A pledge from McCain is worth no more than spit in the wind.
As far as I am concerned, McCain has absolutely no chance in the general election. I agree with many of the talkshow hosts, let a Democrat be the one to ruin this country during the next four years --------- not a Republican.

You guys watch the video from the new Glenn Beck thread I just posted - Glenn Beck is right on!
He basically says we need the "party" to hit bottom and be rebuilt because it is broken and McCain is not a conservative and he is not selling out and "enabling" the party because it is too important to not let the party down.
Yes, McAmnest will poke you in the eye with a sharp stick it you don't poke him first - so true!
We all agree that McCain cannot be trusted, but holding out and applying pressuer where we are able is the best we can do right now. Let's call his bluff and see who is more stubborn, him or us. If he would rather give up the presidency than bend to our will, then we know that forces greater than his desire are at work. And I am talking about the forces that want open borders, and as much immigration as possible, no matter what.

Negotiations should start like this: a pledge to VETO any legislation that provides for a path to legalization, status or benefits for illegal aliens, or program that increases the number of legal guest workers. Also, no further participation in SPP or North American Union talks as well as a promise for a VETO of LOST.
Then we would talk administration: Vice President - Senator DeMint, Secretary of Defense - Rep Hunter, Homeland Security - Rep Tancredo, Secretary of Energy - Senator Inhofe.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer....
Please, you guys, we have to think of repercussions other then hating MCain if the democrats win, just think of the liberal socialist judges they wil put on the Supreme Court. That alone will finish this country off, there is so much more at stake than just electing someone we all detest. And if we keep going down this road we will be sunk. I blame Bush as much as anybody for destroying the Republian party, it will take years to repair the damage he has done but he DID get conservative judges on the Supreme Court and that is HUGE !!!!!
These things have already been decided. They did not ask for our input nor will they. You only hold the illusion that somehow you have a vote in these matters. The "estabishment" would never allow matters of such importance to be decided by "Common People". Elections are nothing more than a necessity to create for us the illusion that we have a voice.
All who believe otherwise after this election cycle are truly naive.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. ~Abraham Lincoln~
The Republican elites expect that we will pick the lesser evil selection chosen by the elites who pull the strings of both parties. When we pick the greater evil if a few basic conservative principles will not be upheld, we are exercising a method to see how subverted our system really is. I discovered this subversion only last June myself when the efforts of the pro amnesty Republicans made no sense to me based upon the conservative grassroots uprisng by the millions. If McCain is so stubborn and inflexible to continue to maintain his "principles" at the cost of the presidency, then we will know just how important the open borders, the unfair to the middle class free trade, and the desire by the elite to further control every aspect of our lives in the ways freedoms for most Eurpoteans are reduced compared to what we had traditionally enjoyed..
This may be a way for all of us on FS and elsewhere to unite. Samuel Adams did it 200 plus years ago with the Sons of Liberty, and gopteaparty may be our window of opportunity. It certainly is worth a try to stop the elites/establishment from permanently destroying our foundations.

John, your stated goals can be reached without supporting the "Democratics" candidate. If you vote for the "Democratics" candidate in the remaining primaries and caucus' it will only be interpreted as "they're more energized than us", and, if you vote for the "Democratics" candidate in the general election in Nov., the media and the "Democratics" will spin it to say," We have a mandate."
In both, the remaining states that are yet to vote, and, in the upcoming General Election, the best strategy is to leave the Presidential slot blank or write in a candidate in the appropriate spot on the ballot.
Republicans cannot win by voting for the "Democratics", no matter what they are trying to accomplish. It will either be deliberately misinterpreted or deliberately spun to look like we've given them a mandate. Those are two things we can't afford.
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. SAMUEL ADAMS "When principles that run against your deepest convictions begin to win the day, that battle is your calling, and peace has become sin. You must at the price of dearest peace lay your convictions bare before friend and enemy, with all the fire of your faith." Abraham Kuyper
Our battle is with the elite thatpull strings they have no business pulling. We need to know the extent of the problem and being wishy washy and fearful will not get the job done. We must be bold and spell out the consequences of not slidly being against any form of amnesty or path to legalization for illegal aliens if we are to succeed. It is that simple and going weak kneed will not get us what we demand and what is necessary for national survival.
McCain would really have to SHOW me that he is against illegal immigration before I would consider voting for him. I told him that two years ago in an e-mail and I'm not going to back down. If the Democrats get in it's not going to be on my conscience when the borders open wide and our guys and gals come home from Iraq to no employment. I am a 58 year old woman who has worked almost 40 years of my life and if I have to, I will do everything I can to defend my country's sovereignty.
Well the way I see it,,, if we continue on this divided path, the dems will sweep. so make up your mind, whether you want to spite somebody or prove your point,,, is it worth allowing O'Bama or Hillary win?
