Hey, this only took over 6 months to get a response from one of my illustrious senators. Get a load of this answer on the illegal immigration issue. Pay particular attention to his pandering at the end on what he wants to make ICE do before raiding workplaces that hire illegals. I've highlighted it. I also highlighted a key phrase he stole from my other dirtbag senator. Let me just say my FBI file probably just grew another inch thick with what I sent back to him in response!!

Thank you for contacting me regarding your views on our nation's immigration policy and the recent debate that has surrounded the issue of immigration reform. I appreciate hearing from you. There are many facets of our current immigration system that are flawed and in need of reform. It is estimated that there are over 12 million undocumented workers in the United States. We must provide law enforcement the technology and personnel they need to protect our borders. Securing our borders is a critical piece to solving the problem of illegal immigration in this country, and must be part of any comprehensive reform. We also need a system that will offer undocumented immigrants who work hard, pay taxes, and play by the rules with a path towards citizenship. Immigrants make up a significant part of the American workforce. Legal immigrants provide much needed skills and expertise to American businesses and we must clear the visa backlogs so these people can continue to contribute to our communities. H-1B visas allow temporary foreign workers to enter and work in the United States. These workers typically fill positions in the business and technology communities, utilizing their specialized expertise. We must work to find ways to retain our current system and the benefits it brings to our country while minimizing any negative effect on American workers and ensuring that we invest in home grown talent. The recent bipartisan immigration reform bill was not perfect but it was a step in the right direction to address many of these concerns. I was disappointed that this legislation did not receive the votes necessary to address our dysfunctional system however I remain confident that Congress can answer these challenges in the coming months. It is clear that this is an issue that will not go away and impacts millions of people everyday. Massachusetts recently saw the real life impact that this broken immigration system can have. After an immigration raid in New Bedford left families divided and children without parents many were outraged. I filed an amendment to the immigration bill that would provide protections to immigrant families and children who are caught in Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) workplace raids. In particular, the amendment would require ICE to accommodate immigrants that are parents, minors, have medical conditions or any other humanitarian issue that state social workers identify. It also requires the use of translators, access to legal services and using detention facilities close to home. This legislation is critical in preventing another humanitarian crisis and safeguarding rights for immigrants. I will continue to fight for this legislation to prevent another New Bedford like raid. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts on immigration with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me on this or any other issue of concern to you.
Sincerely,
John F. Kerry United States Senator

Awwww, what a compassionate guy. That is until it comes to the actual citizens of the US that have to suffer the presence of the illegals and all the havoc they create and the billions of dollars they cost.
